I am so excited by the tastiness of something new that I want to include it in every meal!
As evidenced by my new love for Chavrie goat cheese, which I only discovered yesterday, I simply had to include the creamy goodness in my lunch today since our love affair is in full bloom.
I need to back off from the cheese a bit because I can already feel myself getting a little too attached, clingy and overly obsessed.
I think the $6 price tag on such a small chunk o’ cheese will help prevent this new relationship from becoming a full-fledged addiction.
I included the goat cheese in a pasta bowl with Carba Nada egg fettuccine noodles and steamed broccoli.
On the side I enjoyed a small banana.
Lunch was finger lickin’ good (or fork lickin’ good in this case 😉 ).
Now a question for YOU!
What is your most recent food obsession?
Though this goat cheese is definitely my most recent foodie love, my past obsessions have included Monterey Pasta Company’s ravioli, flourless peanut butter cookies, the Pioneer Woman’s sugar cookies, Carba Nada noodles, pumpkin protein pancakes, Babybel cheese, Mochi frozen yogurt, Jimmy John’s sandwiches, and Lindt truffles… to name a few. 😉
Jessica @ How Sweet says

Recently it’s overnight oats! I think it’s because it reminds me of one of my big weaknesses–CEREAL.
Caroline says
I am completely addicted to tortilla chips. Doesn’t really matter what brand or color… with salsa, guacamole, or alone I’m thrilled. With hummus and I’m completely in heaven!
Anna says
I thought that was cauliflower in your bowl at first…but I LOVE that it’s goat cheese 🙂
My obsession with green monsters has hit an all-time high now that it’s summer.

Ahhhh IF ONLY I WASN’T ALLERGIC to cheese! Looks amazing though!!
I’m recently obsessed with Jay Rob Pina Colada Protein, Nutritional yeast, pickles, TJ’s chicken sausage, and lots and lots of salads (I think the hot weather is the cause of this). Lately I want anything COLD!
Have a great day chica!!!!!! XOXOXOXO 🙂 🙂
peanutbutterfingers says
what is nutritional yeast!? i feel like i’m missing something fantastic…
Shanna, like Banana says
I’m with you on the chicken sausages from TJs…totally just blogged about that today!
Amber K says
Green monsters.
I’ve had one daily since I discovered them, and it’s been going on…a couple of months now I think? I definitely fall in love hard!
katie says
those noodles, do they keep u full. i dont know about u but when i have pasta, i like bulk! how much do u make? xoxoo
peanutbutterfingers says
they actually have 12g of protein in a serving which is great for keeping you full! i usually make a serving or 1/5 servings & bulk them up w/ lots of veggies for more volume.
katie says
1/5? how much cooked?
peanutbutterfingers says
woops, i meant 1.5 servings! i’m not sure how much it makes cooked. i usually just weigh it using a kitchen scale before cooking to make sure i am eating a proper serving size since i can eat TONS of pasta. 🙂
Kati says
I have to second green monsters. I’m not sure how I lived so long without them. I want one every day and I get so excited about all the different creations I can come up with. I also am obsessed with Trader Joe’s dark chocolate pretzel bark. It is delicious!

And La Tortilla Factory low-carb, high fiber tortillas. Can’t get enough!
peanutbutterfingers says

Shanna, like Banana says
Zach (the hubby) was skeptical at first but then decided he LOVED them…my last batch I threw in raisins and pomegranate seeds..next time I may just add some oats too!
moonwalkthemiles says
Mamey sapote, which is this tropical fruit. Unfortunately it isn’t cheap (way too few of my food obsessions are!).
Caroline says
I’m a goat cheese nut as well:) Sundried tomatoes is high on my list these days…yum:)
Oh- and I have the same running shoes you have. They are amazing! Not a single blister. I’m tempted to buy another pair- I love them that much.
BTW: Here’s a link on how to tie your laces: http://tallguysurfing.blogspot.com/2009/10/how-to-tie-marathon-knot.html
Sounds silly but it’s called the marathon knot which I use. It makes all the difference.
peanutbutterfingers says
AWESOME! thanks!!!
Amanda says
I looove goat cheese too! It’s too bad you don’t have a Trader Joe’s near you … I get goat cheese for $2.99, so my obsession carries no monetary guilt! I have a long lasting obsession with hummus, lattes made with my milk frother (so hard to enjoy in this heat though!), and canteloupe!
homecookedem says
I’m the same way about food – when I find something I like I put it on repeat day after day until I find my next obsession. Hence why pimento cheese has been mentioned on my blog waaaay too often lately, hehe! 😉 Speaking of that is my current obsession and I don’t see an end in sight!
Courtney says
Can I say I’m obsessed with all food? No? Ok…then probably my granola blondies I just made this week. They’re fantastic 🙂
AllieNic (Frisky Lemon) says
oh man! I am most recently obsessed with guacamole…past (and still current) obsessions include buffalo sauce, coconut butter, plantain chips…
Ditto on the goat cheese love! I’ve never paired it with broccoli though…I’ll have to give it a try!

Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine says
I’d say that while dark chocolate is my steady boyfriend, I’ve had recent flings with spicy peanut butter, strawberries, steamed carrots and organic Lucky Charms. So unfaithful, I know…
erica says
this is probably not the best response for a health food blog since it’s not healthy, but my recent food obsession has been lilikoi butter!!! SO GOOD!!!!
Courtney says
Watermelon, tofu, soy ice cream, crunch almond butter, animal crackers (ha!), and the new pretzel m&ms!
Sara says
You can make your own goat cheese! There are recipes and supplies available on this website, but I’m sure this isn’t the only resource. I haven’t tried it yet, but getting ready to soon. I used to get my goat cheese cheap at TJ’s but, alas, no longer live close to one. Hence the need to make my own since what I find now is so darned expensive. If you try it, please post about your experience!
I’m obsessed with berries right now. I try to eat seasonally and it’s the right time for those succulent little treats right now!

hey! i love goat cheese tooo but yes its def pricey.. i found a cheaper alternative to chavrie though: at trader joe’s they sell a “Creamy goat cheese” that is also a very similar mellow flavor – for $3!
Mary Beth says
Definitely find nutritional yeast. You will be hooked, knowing how you like your parm cheese! I put it on everything. Yes, EVERYTHING!
Current obsession is taking a Jimmy John’s Veggie Unwich and adding a packet of albacore tuna. Had my second one in two days for lunch today.
🙂
Laura says
I have become obsessed with asparagus. I “hated” it until recently – my mom didn’t like it, so growing up I just assumed it was gross. Now that I’ve experienced roasted asparagus, I can’t get enough!
Kelly says
Fage Greek Yogurt mixed with cocoa powder is my newest obession!
Julie @ Pickley Pear says
The Carba Nada noodles are the best. Made locally near me in Michigan! I’m on a Grape Nuts kick lately. Luckily the box is almost gone. I love Chevrie cheese too! I need some broccoli in my life stat.

I just got the Trader joe’s brand goat cheese, and it’s really, really yummy. Plus it’s only $2.99 (half the price for Chavrie)
