Ryan read up on it since we’re still new to the area and aren’t really sure if this weather is “normal” for March. Apparently the current temperatures are more consistent with May weather and cooler weather is likely on the horizon, but when Saturday’s forecast says 70 degrees and sunny, we’ll take it!
Before dinnertime, we drove to a park for our evening walk and it seemed like everyone was out and about last night. I love living in an active area again!
Oh! And you can expect to see that oversize gray boyfriend tee on the blog approximately 5,000 times from now until August. During my first trimester, I discovered the wonderfully flowy and super soft tanks and tees from Chaser and they’re my go-to comfy preggo tops right now. (FYI, RueLaLa has them on sale for half price all the time.)
Sorry about the hair in your face, Sadie!
Once we made it home, it was time for the traditional St. Patrick’s Day dinner of corned beef and cabbage. I am a BIG fan! Corned beef and cabbage is actually the dinner I would request for my birthday when I was growing up. Random but delicious!
Today
This morning, I slept in until 6:40 a.m. which was great since Monday night I’m pretty sure we got 2.5 hours of sleep. I was so, so restless so I awoke this morning feeling very grateful that I slept much better last night.
After the alarm went off, I grabbed an apple and drove to my local Pure Barre studio to take the 7:15 a.m. class with one of my favorite teachers!
On my way home, I grabbed a decaf vanilla latte and by the time I walked through the door, I was more than ready for breakfast. A banana took the edge off while I prepared an egg white and oatmeal protein pancake (with a scoop of almond butter added to the mix).
Topped off with maple syrup…
While I dug into my breakfast pancake, Sadie tried to coerce me into playtime with her little Santa bear.
(That toy was a free gift from Victoria’s Secret years ago and Sadie loves it. She licks it and babies it and it’s totally ridiculous.)
I guess she decided to overlook St. Patrick’s Day and skip right to Christmas. Perhaps it’s because she’s as Irish as I am (aka not at all).
I hope you have a great Wednesday and that your St. Paddy’s Day yesterday was a fun one! Off to work!
It’s been super warm down in TX too and I LOVE it! And I love the top! I would really like to see a post sometime about how you wake up early and becoming a morning workout person. I can’t ever get up!

I love that you had corned beef & cabbage! I grew up next to my grandparents, and my Gma was Irish. Every year, she would make corned beef & cabbage, and I always made a fuss because I never liked it. She would tell me to make myself a peanut butter sandwich, because everyone else was eating Irish. EVERY YEAR! She passed away a couple of years ago 🙁 but I still eat my traditional Irish meal of peanut butter 🙂 (so if you heard a thunder clap from above … that was just her yelling “Mary Elizabeth!!!!” nbd)
I am 13 weeks pregnant and just received my Stitch Fix box with maternity clothes!
ahhhh!!! their timing could not have been better, right!? i got an email that my first maternity fix shipped a couple days ago. i can’t WAIT to check it out!
I love when the weather is nice out and everyone is outside walking around. When I’m running through that I feel so happy and energized.
Yesterday in Baltimore was so gorgeous! Had an awesome lunch break run. Now there is snow in the forecast for Saturday. Mother nature clearly is drunk!
I’m glad you mentioned the tee you are wearing because I was eyeing it in your photo before I even read what you said about it! It looks so comfy and perfect for pregnancy, especially these first few months when you feel like you’re in that “in between” stage of not quite sporting an obvious pregnancy bump but still looking a little round. 😉 I’m feeling more and more like that this past week or two…my belly has grown so much faster this second time around!
exaaaactly!! it’s been rather challenging to dress during this weird limbo in-between stage, but i swear by that tee and the flowy tanks i’ve found — target has been great for that, too! oh and leggings, of course. 🙂 congrats to you again! <3
It was GORGEOUS out yesterday here in the DC area but I woke up today to below-freezing temperatures! And it might snow (again) (AGAIN) on Friday! The weather is all sorts of crazy. I cannot attempt to understand it. XD
I love Sadies sugar face and sugar paws.
The weather has been unbelievable here the past few days as well!! I’ve been trying to soak up time outside – had our GOTR meeting Monday with beyond perfect weather, then went on a run/walk afterwards and then yesterday I did a long bike ride after work! I do hope to get an active dog in the near future like a visla so I’m more engaged in outdoor activities! It’d be so fun to take a dog for a walk in a local park or walking trail – I have a pampered pomeranian right now haha, he can only handle so much and doesn’t understand the concept of a loop, so we’ll go half around the loop and instead of continuing on, he sits his tail down and won’t budge until you either carry him the rest of the loop or turn around and walk back to the house. My parents spoiled him rotten! He’s cute as can be though with the funnest little personality! I love dogs!
this is so adorable! <3
Flowy shirts are nice even when you’re not pregnant. I have one from Old Navy that I bought in college. It has holes in it, but it’s so comfortable, I can’t part with it. It’s relegated to a night shirt now.
I love that you two immediately change into “play clothes”! So fun. I’m loving the beautiful weather here in NC right now!
I spy Toms! Can’t wait for Toms wearing weather here!
It’s been really warm here this week too! Yesterday we actually turned on the AC!
The weather was really nice here a couple weekends ago, so I decided to go for a walk in one of the city`s biggest natural parks. When I turned into the parking lot though there was absolutely no parking. I guess everyone else had the same idea that I had. I decided to go to a different park, so I still got my walk in.
It’s still quite cold here in Scotland even though it’s March, so I am excited for the warmer weather coming soon – definately not tshirt weather here yet. I struggle to be a morning person, but your relaxed morning is exactly what I would like to be able to do, especially if I have those delicious sounding pancakes to make! Lianne x

Pregnant or not, that tee is awesome! I’ll definitely be hunting Rue La La for them!
they come up ALL the time for around $20! seriously SO comfy!
Target has some super comfortable tees if you ever need some, they were $5 last week! I bought like 10! I am so happy that Spring is basically here!
I’m at home right now but I can’t wait to get back to Florida to get back into Pure Barre!! I miss it!! My St. Patty’s Day was very uneventful…maybe next year! haha
Hi Julie,
I may be relocating to Huntersville next month and wanted to know if you can direct me to the furnished apartment you guys rented before buying your house?
Thank you so much!
Bexley Harborside! It was great!
you’re a life saver!
Ahh, I’ve missed Sadie on the blog! She keeps making me smile 🙂
I have a St Pattys day birthday & I’m as Irish as you! Unfortunately I never much liked corn beef & cabbage, so I headed (wobbled) to a sushi dinner last night!! *cooked rolls, 36 weeks & counting!!
omg that last picture of Sadie! She is the cutest! And I wish I’d had corned beef & cabbage! My mom used to make it every year for us
We have May weather here in Denver too!!! It was 80 on Monday. I love seeing all the people out and about with dogs, running, walking, and enjoying outdoor activities too 🙂
I had three or four stuffed dogs from Victoria’s Secret that I used to give my dog to play with and she LOVED them! But she also destroyed them all within a couple weeks so they didn’t last too long. But they did make great toys. She can be picky, so the fact she played with it at all was nice. I never had a use for the stuffed dogs before so it worked out!
I can’t wait to get a dog! I think it’s happening in the next couple of months!! 🙂
Aww I love that Sadie has a little baby too! haha Too cute!
the weather has been fantastic here too! i cannot wait for spring (and summer 🙂
It was in the high 60s here in Chicago on Monday, but sadly it has dropped back down into the 40s. That’s still warmer than the winter, but Monday sure was a tease. I’m hoping it warms up soon!
I’m definitely making corned beef this weekend. It was crazy pricey when I looked over this weekend, so I’m hoping its all on sale now (#thingsoldpeoplesay)
During my first trimester and even well into my second trimester, I was ALL about the loose fitting tshirts. I found a few at JCrew that were on sale (as they were bringing out all the winter stuff) and I basically lived in them. Now that I’m in my 3rd trimester I’m all about showing off the baby bump, since now it looks like an actual bump instead of a Chipotle Burrito food baby!
So jealous of that weather – here in the Northeast, we had a few brief signs of spring, but a dusting of snow again this morning!
Last weekend I walked in a t-shirt and yoga capris in close to 70 degree weather while people were still out STANDING ON THE ICE of the lakes. lol Walking all over the lake ice (and driving on it) is normal in MN, but I was very concerned seeing alllllll the people walking over the lakes while it’s been in the 60’s here for a couple of weeks! Yikes!
Lovin’ the spring weather! Lovin’ that T-shirt! I was wondering where you got it after just glancing at the pic. I hate wearing boxy T’s, yours is wonderful, thanks for the recommendation.
haha that’s funny that you used to request corned beef and cabbage for your birthday– I used to request pumpkin pie for my birthday ‘cake’! It’s just not enough to have these things only once a year! 🙂
It’s been warm again in Austin too! Loving the sunshine. I really have to give that pancake a try now that I see it again!
That shirt looks super comfy! I’m going to have to keep my eye out for one! Sadie is such a cute pup! My dog would have eaten the stuffed santa toy a long time ago! He eats everything, especially my little ones toys. Between the baby and the dog it’s like having two little ones in the house! LOL 🙂
That is SO adorable how much Sadie loves that VS stuffed toy. That thing would be torn to shreds in a matter of minutes by my dog. She’s so sweet. 🙂
I totally agree that this early bit of spring-time weather is amazing! It is a little cooler here in the Burgh than the past few days, but is supposed to warm up by this weekend! I just love your pictures of Sadie! She is so cute! Also, the V-neck tees from Victoria’s Secret are super comfy and colorful! They are also usually on sale! I’m not pregnant, but enjoy my share of oversized Tee’s every once in a while! 🙂
Loved loved loved the weather yesterday. Was so disappointing that it did not stick around!
Sadie is so darn cute!!
I’m gonna have to check out those shirts. I’ve been looking for a new comfy go-to.
Sadie looks so cute (and happy) with her favorite toy! She is just too adorable!
random question! How come you guys always pose Sadie on her hind legs in pics?
She actually jumps up like that when we call her over!
