I topped a bowl of Greek yogurt with some Bob’s Red Mill muesli that I prepared last night and I just couldn’t get enough of it!
I received this bag of muesli through a promotion with iHerb.com (more details and a fun giveaway coming soon!) and aboslutely loved the blend of rolled oats, wheat, rye, triticale, barley, almonds, date crumbles, raisins, sunflower seeds and walnuts.
My texture-lovin’ self was in heaven!
The sunflower seeds and dates were my favorite addition to the mix.
The combination of fats, proteins and carbs from this breakfast made this breakfast a perfect post-workout meal. Muesli for da muscles! 😀
Workout
My workout today included 20 minutes of cardio on the elliptical before tackling a weights routine that looked like this:
Three sets of 15 reps of the following:
- Step ups (15 lbs.)
- Shoulder raises (10 lbs.)
- Tricep dips (Bodyweight)
- Bicep curls (15 lbs.)
- Leg extensions (35 lbs., pausing for one second at the top)
- Hamstring swiss ball curls (Bodyweight)
- Crunches
After sweatin’ it out, Ryan and I ran into my friend Merri at the gym and headed home to our apartment where the three of us gathered Sadie for a 2.5 mile walk around the lake.
Great start to the day!
Off to work for the last time this week. Woo!
Sounds like a great workout Julie! I love Bob’s Red Mill products but haven’t tried the muesli yet. That’s a great idea to add sunflower seeds in. Have a fab Friday! 🙂
I fell in love with Muesli while studying in Germany last summer. While I did miss regular old fashioned oats, the museli was a good alternative!
That museli looks good! I’ve always wanted to try it. I like the addition of sunflower seeds and dates. Yum! Happy Friday!!
That cereal looks yummy! The more variety in a creak the better! 🙂
Looks fabulous!!! I love that museli!!
muesli’s the best, but i can never stop at one serving – i always eat the box within about a week! hah!
looks like a great workout, too!
can i ask how heavy (to you) the weights that you lift are? like, do they feel heavy is what i mean!
nice workout!! your breakfast sounds fab!
O how I love textured cereal like that too! It looks so good and I don’t blame you for finishing off a box of cereal yourself in 24 hours (minus what Sadie ate)!!!
I LOVE trader joe’s museli. From one texture freak to another, it’s baaangin’!
I love Bob’s Redmill I use their oats+flax ALL THE TIME. The muesli looks awesome.
Happy Friday!
My mother send me this youtube video about peeling potatoes ( she would).
I thought you may get a laugh out of it – who knew you didn’t need a peeler?

I really like sunflower seeds – they’re a great addition to salads!
Funny story: I ate muesli all the time growing up, but only when we were spending time in France. It’s not really mainstream American food so I never looked for it in American grocery stores, and until I started reading blogs I thought it must only be available in Europe. Which reminds me that it’s been way too long since I had any- love the stuff!
Mmmm I love mueseli! It’s so surprising – you never get the same taste in each spoonful 😉
I have never tries Muesli!! I want to try it though!! Sounds like a good workout!!
That does look like a great breakfast, and really good workout, too!
You know…I have a bag of Muesli in my pantry and I never really knew what I wanted to do with it. Great idea to put it on yogurt!
Your breakfast looks delicious! What time to you start your work day? It is just so motivating to hear that you get a gym trip, a walk, and breakfast in all before work!
I have to be at work at 5:50 am when I work the day watch so it wouldn’t work for me, but maybe on my off days! Good for you for getting up and starting your day off right 🙂

I love that you are trying to spend as much time with Merri before she moves- just shows what a great friend you are 🙂
Oooh new fun breakfast idea! Thanks, lovely!

Aw, I think that’s so neat that y’all are making the most of your time with Merri. So important! It’s going to go by so quickly!!!
I love Bob’s! I was just staring at their ground almond meal at the store, but managed to put it back 🙂
Random thought, but have you ever tried Kombucha? I think you’d like it!
no i haven’t!
Bob’s used to have cookie recipe on the back of that bag was very good!
What time do you have to start work? Just curious because you get an amazing amount of things accomplished before work. I only have time to get in a workout, and unfortunately I don’t have time to go back and eat (I really wish I did).

You know, I don’t think I’ve ever had muesli. It sounds super delish!
I’ve had that muesli before and it is AMAZING. You’re right-so many great textures!!
I feel like I would like muesli way more than granola. I should check it out!
I love muesli! That workout sounds killer, I’ll have to try it. Do you do step ups on a bench or the stair machine?
bench!
I was just curious to know if you eat anything before you work out?
