My mom knows what I like!
Mussels!
Ever since I was little, I’ve enjoyed shellfish. Clams, oysters, mussels… I love ‘em all! (You may remember that embarrassing story about how I used to eat clams a Hooter’s with my dad when I was younger. Always been a fan!)
Along with the mussels we enjoyed snapper (I had one filet)…
Corn on the cob (I had one ear)…
Broc…
Whole grain bread (I had one slice at dinner and two slices waiting to eat… It was delicious!)…
And, last but not least, fresh fruit salad…
The fruit salad included watermelon, blueberries and apple.
I ate a bit of everything, but dominated the mussels. I had a huge bowl of mussel shells to showcase my efforts. 😉
After dinner, my mom, dad, Ryan and I sat at the table until nearly 11 p.m., just chatting and laughing together. It feels good to be home!
Today
We woke up bright and early this morning!
I started the day with a piece of whole grain toast, smeared with a bit of Brummel & Brown butter and blackberry jam.
I gotta go get ready for our meeting with our pastor today. I have some notes to assemble and gotta change out of my pjs!
See ya in a bit! 😀
YUMMMMMMM! wow, this looks like a fabulous dinner. way to go mom! 🙂
That whole meal looks so delicious! Your Mom sure knows how to cook a delicious feast! 🙂 Hope you both enjoy your day & good luck with your meetings.
Oh, I went & read your post about the Hooters story, and I had no idea that mushrooms were bad for dogs..? That’s so good to know! Thanks, Julie 🙂
That fruit salad looks delish!
How nice that you and Ryan got to enjoy dinner for with your family. 🙂 It looks like a delicious dinner, YUM!
I love mussels! And all seafood for that matter. 🙂
I am the total opposite seafood in general grosses me out! I can only stand *certain* kinds of fish
I hated seafood as a kid. HATED IT. Then I moved to Vancouver, which is a huge seafood city, I started eating really good FRESH seafood and I feel head over heels in love. Pass me the muscles, clams, scallops, prawns, and fish, I’ll gobble it up.
Your wedding is so soon! I can’t wait to hear all about it.
I love fish, but I don’t think I’ve ever tried shell fish, believe it or not! Does shrimp count? I definitely have never had oysters, clams, lobster, or crab! Maybe I’ll head to Maine sometime to try them all!! 🙂
Ahh, mussels creep me out! Plus I had an allergic reaction to sea scallops a few years ago, so I have to steer clear of most shellfish. Love fish though!
I need to come to your place for dinner!
Hope the meeting with the pastor goes well. I would say that dinner looked good, but I don’t eat seafood or shellfish 🙂 But if I did, I am sure it would be amazing!
I can’t stand any kind of meat, but the fruits, veggies, and bread look amazing!
Mom does always know best! Why are home cooked meals always so good? 🙂
i’ve never had mussels before…. i do like fish though so maybe i should try ’em!
Mussels are such a Belgian dish , I like it!
Good luck with the meeting!!!
