In honor of this amazing holiday (yes, holiday), here are some of my all-time favorite peanut butter recipes:
- Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies
- Apple, Peanut Butter and Granola Sandwich
- Peanut Butter-Stuffed French Toast
- Cinnamon Peanut Butter Roasted Chickpeas
And there’s always the classic peanut butter finger. I don’t need a fancy recipe to enjoy a swipe of the good stuff!
Lunch
Peanut butter managed to find its way into my lunch today in the form of peanut butter M&Ms!
Lunchtime appetizers included a fun size (that term is debatable…) packet of peanut butter and peanut M&Ms. PB M&Ms are definitely my favorite kind of the little chocolate candies. They trump all others! (Side note: They should totally make caramel M&Ms.)
After I got my chocolate fix, I enjoyed a childhood favorite: English muffin pizzas!
Served with a sliced red pepper and a tumbler full of hot tea, this lunch was the jam!
So happy that red, yellow and orange peppers were on sale at the grocery store this weekend! 😀
Fashion Page Update
I am trying my hardest to figure out how to create a dynamic fashion page for PBF. I have no idea how to post posts to pages, so if any of you out there have the know-how PLEASE let me know! Some baked goods may be in your future if you can help me figure it out. Yes, that is a bribe… 😉
Until then, here’s a glimpse at today’s ensemble.
- Lace dress: Velvet Touch (via Marshalls)
- Black cardigan: Guess
- Brown leather belt: J.Crew (A Christmas present from my sister. Thanks, Leslie!)
- Black tights (with an unseen hole in the tookus): J. Crew
- Boots: Colin Stewart (via Victoria’s Secret)
See ya for dinner my peanut butter-loving friends! 😀
Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine says
Wish I knew how to help in the page department, but sadly I’m technologically inept. Those PB M&Ms have always been my favorite too….I used to buy them every day at lunch in middle school. Not really healthy, but they sure made me happy. It’s been too long since I had any!
Elizabeth says
I just found out it was National PB day, funnily enough, as I was purchasing an amazing peanut butter cupcake. This is my kind of holiday.
Ellen @ Cinnamonalicious says
Happy Peanut Butter Day!!
I totally enjoyed numerous peanut butter fingers today, and I didn’t even know about the holiday 😛
You’re outfit is gorgeous!
Wish I could help with the page issue…maybe you could just post them as normal posts and link to them in the fashion page?
peanutbutterfingers says
yeah, i had that idea… but i wasn’t sure about posting them to the homepage b/c i don’t want to bore those who are totally uninterested in fashion. gah!
Ellen @ Cinnamonalicious says
Everyone’s interested in fashion 😉
And they can just skip through them if they reeeeeally hate it, but I’m sure there won’t be many like that!
Jackie W says
I agree with Ellen – people will just skim that part if they aren’t interested.
Leanne (For Health's Sake) says
Tookus! 😀 hahahaha
Ashley from Texas says
Yum. Wish I had some apples to make an apple/PB/granola sandwich. Suppose a celebratory peanut butter finger will have to do!
Hope says
I didn’t realize today was National Peanut Butter Day! I am totally going to have to eat some for dessert tonight! I love peanut butter! Love your lunch! Looks so tasty! 🙂
Jenny (Fit Girl Foodie) says
Lol I just found out too! Luckily its not too late 😉
Danielle says
hey! they actually did used to make caramel m&m’s (they were called dulce de leche) and only sold them in areas with a large hispanic population (including miami where i used to live). apparently they didn’t catch on so m&m’s stopped making them! just wikipedia’ed it and it says that apparently part of why they didn’t catch on was because they had 39 grams of fat per serving…way more than all other kinds of m&m’s!
peanutbutterfingers says
man! i’d like to try ’em… regardless of the 39g of fat!
kristy @ kristyruns says
Happy pb day! I have and will continue celebrating by eating ridiculous amounts of pb. 🙂
Love the outfit!
Allison @ Happy Tales says
LOL “tookus”… i haven’t heard that term.. in like, years!
BTW, i didn’t realize it was national PB day!!! SO loving this, as I just bought a PB&Co. Dark Cholate Dreams pb jar over the weekend. Time to put that baby to use!
Also, love your outfit today! ESPECIALLY the mixing of brown and black. You go girl!
peanutbutterfingers says
ha! i don’t have black boots, so until i do brown & black will be mixed!
Allison @ Happy Tales says
i am the SAME way! no shame, no shame.
Paige @ Saucy & Sweet says
I think there is a way you can make a page that shows only certain categories. You could have you main blog exclude the fashion category and a separate page that contains only fashion. Just thinking out loud…

Emma (Sweet Tooth Runner) says
Sorry can’t help you with that one- I’ve been trying to figure it out myself recently! But I’ll let you know if I find out! 🙂
LOVE your outfit!! That dress especially is gorgeous! 😀
peanutbutterfingers says
i definitely will. i think it’s a common question many bloggers have b/c no one seems to know the answer.
Cynthia says
I definitely must plan to celebrate this holiday!
BTW, that outfit is too cute!
As far as what you’re trying to do, it seems most blogs only give you one page for automatic posts. Here is a link for more info as to the why:
http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/adding-posts-to-pages-2
On one of my pages, I was able to add links to the top of the page that would bring up that spot on the same page further down below. Is that clear as mud? Sorry!
Let me know and I could give you some sample code if you’re interested.
Heather (Heather's Dish) says
you should make a thai peanut curry for dinner!!! this is probably the tastiest holiday ever 🙂
Meg says
Oh my gosh, Happy Nat’l PB Day! That’s awesome 😀
Ohhh you have me CRAVING muffin pizza…a childhood fave.
Loving your outfit! 🙂 Gorgeous as usual. Enjoy the rest of your peanut butter filled day, Julie!
Emily says
love your outfit! And love the fact that mixing black and brown is in too…makes dressing so much easier!
Also, I found this gem of a website, which has all of the national food holidays… tomorrow is National Lobster Thermidor day?!
http://www.tfdutch.com/foodh.htm
have a good one!
peanutbutterfingers says
i don’t know why, but this made me laugh out loud! what an odd day.
Gill (snaxandthecity) says
have you ever had white chocolate M&Ms? They used to make them when I was 16 or so – they were amazing! I’ve never had PB ones though!
peanutbutterfingers says
noooo, but they sound fantastic.
Nathan Miller says
Yes..they brought them out during the First Pirates of the Caribbean..and never again….they would be even better than a Carmel M&M 😉
Gill (snaxandthecity) says
seriously, i had a dangerous addiction to them. even now, i scour random stores in the hope they’ll have them! you can’t even find them online 🙁 i will just have to make do with peanut butter ones! lol.
Maryann says
Cute outfit! I totally want to make English muffin pizzas now! I had extra PB today…before I even knew it was National PB day, I guess my taste buds knew 🙂
kerry says
oh i love the outfit! you had a great chocolate fix too! xx
Rachael says
A very good holiday indeed, though sadly I cannot partake. It’s my first pregnancy and in the name of all things paranoia, I’m avoiding peanut butter to hopefully stave off future allergies in my spawn. I don’t think i could handle living for 18 years in a peanut-free house!
If they could morph dark chocolate, peanut butter and pretzel M&Ms, I think the world would be a better place.
I’m going to echo the compliments on mixing black and brown!
Jenna says
It was national cheese day the other day, and I almost missed that too. Thanks for the heads up about PB day. I think I’ll make some of your Flourless PB Cookies to celebrate.
Rachel says
Cute outfit and HAPPY NATIONAL PEANUT BUTTER DAY!! Best day ever!! 🙂
I don’t have a clue how to do the fashion section but I think Jessica at http://www.howsweeteats.com does that. She always tweets links and I can see them then but when I click on the home link they don’t show up anymore…they’re nornally on the Fit Bites page or something. She may know.
peanutbutterfingers says
thanks! i just messaged her & she said seth from boy meets food helped her with it. he did my transition from wordpress to bluehost and i just emailed him! hopefully he’ll have some knowledge for me!
Jessy says
Wow, your outfit today is gorgeous! I really like that dress+cardigan combo. 🙂
Alexis says
super-cute outfit!! happy PB day!!!
Holly says
I wish I could help you, but I have no idea.
It’s my favorite food holiday 😀
I loved that the peppers were on sale- I had to pick up a bunch too, normally all I care to buy is green peppers because the others are just too pricey!
You look adorable- that is such a cute outfit! The belt & boots totally make it!
Sherry says
Happy PB Day! I just had a terrific snack in honor of today, cinnamon roasted chickepeas, a spoonful of PB, sliced bananas and a splash of almond milk.
I think you should keep posting your outfits on your blog like you’ve been doing. Who doesn’t want to see a cute girl in cute outfits?!? I agree, if they don’t want to see it they can skip over it. Just my thoughts! I love all your outfits, they are super cute, keep the fashion posts coming! Have a great Peanutbutterry Day!
Jackie W says
Oh my – I just had a spoonful of PB in honor of the holiday!
Are you still using wordpress? If so, I think under menus, you can set it up so a page pulls all posts from a certain category or tag. That might work.
Jackie W says
Just to expand on that thought, you don’t actually start a new page…you just set up your menu that way.
Rebecca says
Ohmygoodness! Right before reading this post, I was eating a PB granola bar! That’s so cool. 🙂
I also agree that they need to make caramel M&Ms. I was just thinking that a few days ago! 🙂
Also love your outfit! Super cute! You always look great. 🙂
Kelly says
I usually just type the title of the post on the page (or whatever I want it to be called), then make it link back to the post. I open up a separate window and copy and paste the hyperlink from the post I want it to reference. I used to do this for my recipes before my husband made me a handy dandy link adder thingy, which organizes and alphabetizes all of my recipes for me. Love your outfit. I love all things lacy. 🙂
Kelly says
Happy PB day!!!
VeggieGirl says
LOVE LOVE LOVE your outfit!
Emily says
PB day! if you havent tried them you’ve gotta get your hands on trader joe’s chocolate covered peanut butter filled pretzels. heavenly!
Healthy Chocoholic says
Happy PB day!!!!!
Love your outfit! =D

I’ve been surfing online more than three hours nowadays, but I never found any interesting article like yours. It is lovely value sufficient for me. In my view, if all site owners and bloggers made just right content as you probably did, the web will be much more helpful than ever before.
Sara says
No way! It’s national peanut butter day?! How did I not know this?! I think I’m going to make pb cookies tonight, in honor of this occasion. 🙂 Love the outfit!!
Jess@atasteofconfidence says
Your outfit is very cute!
Kathleen @ Kat's Health Corner says
Ohmygoodess!!! Happy Peanut Butter Day!!! 🙂
Geraldine says
Your lunch looks delicious! I’m probably going to sound like a total simpleton now but how did you make the pizza muffins?
I’m guessing English muffins, tomato puree and grated cheese…
Happy Peanut Butter day. I’m going to pop to my kitchen for a celebration spoonful 🙂
peanutbutterfingers says
i toasted them before spreading marinara sauce on top and sprinkling them with cheese. then i microwaved them for 30 sec. to get the cheese to melt!
Katy (The Singing Runner) says
Why don’t you just put a new tab on your menu bar and whenever you add to it, post the link to the tab in the post for the day? Or am I thinking wrong? Haha!
Happy PB Day!!! 😀 😀 😀
Love the outfit!
lauren says
love the boots! do you remember which ones they are from vs?
SaraRM says
Very cute outfit I love everything about it! Im a black leggings and brown boots kinda girl too. I just cant find the right black boots but love the combo, it works for winter.
Lisa @ Treadmill Runner says
Happy Peanut Butter day! And I like your outfit – I’m totally a bargain shopper too. Keep posting your outfits please. 🙂 I wore a belt around a sweater blouse today – inspired by PB fingers.
Kludj says
Julie,
not sure if it’s what you are looking for, but check out polyvore.com
Virginia Field says
I found your blog while I was searching for peanut butter fingers for a recipe I made for my food blog. Your blog is very fun! Also, I have to add that I wore my brown boots with black leggings, white shirt, and a black sweater today too. I think that it should just be the new trend already 🙂
Lauren says
Wait, you mean every day is not National Peanut Butter Day? Haha, I had no idea! 🙂
erica says
i looove the fashion posts!! 🙂
