If you are anything like me, you are a big snacker. I’ve never been one to eat three big meals a day and have always gravitated toward lots of snacks.
And if you work out of the house or have a really active lifestyle, having something healthy and delicious that you can grab and eat on the go is even better.
So, inspired by the poppability of my oatmeal walnut date balls, I set out to make another perfectly poppable snack.
The great thing about this is that it doesn’t require the food processor — am I the only one who hates to clean it after cooking? — and it is full of healthy fats and filling fiber.
Recipe adapted from Food.com’s No Bake Granola Balls
PrintNo Bake Oatmeal Nut Butter Balls
- Yield: 12-14 balls 1x
Ingredients
- 1 cup old fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup ground flaxseed
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1/4 cup almond butter
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3 tablespoons honey
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients together in a bowl. Stir together until everything is thoroughly combined.
- Roll dough into balls and refrigerate for one hour.
Notes
You can eat them right away, but I refrigerated them overnight so they maintained their shape a little better.
I hope you enjoy this snack as much as I do!

Those look amazing! I am going to have to make these today.
ahhh my seven year old is already awake (it’s 445a here!!) this shall be our morning project.
xo
Fun!! Hope you both love them, Miz!! 🙂
I’m sure the Mr and I will be thanking you for these! I might have to freeze them though to keep them a little less “accessible.” 😉
I am a BIG snacker too and these will help me stay on track with my snacking. They look so tasty and are super simple to make! Cannot wait to give them a try. 🙂
Looks good! I bet you could do a lot of variations with these too! I’m thinking mini chocolate chips, raisins, or mashed banana…
Nice one! They sound amazing! So simple as well…hate having to clean the food processor, possibly more than I hate changing bed clothes!
Ohh yum I’m on a make these this weekend!
These sound amazing AND I have all the ingredients at home to make them (though I may substitute almond butter for the dark chocolate PB I got yesterday). Think I’ll be making these this weekend. Thanks for sharing!
I have a similar no bake protein ball here: http://itsaharleyyylife.com/need-energy-what-about-protein-giveaway/
I love them because you can just pop them in your mouth whenever and its not like eating a whole meal… {until I pop like 5 in my mouth at once haha}
I love making variations of these! I mixed in some dried cranberries and nuts in a batch I made Monday. Also, I decided to substitute nutmeg for the cinnamon, so yummy, made me think of fall and pumpkin pie!
I already have a similar recipe, but maybe I’ll try to add some chia seeds and cinnamon. Those both sound delicious in a snack ball!
I <3 nut butter, and I <3 snacking. It's a win-win for me!
YUM! I have made a ball similar to this with BUTTERSCOTCH CHIPS! There were just ridiculously good! yuuuuuum
these look great! I like that there is no protein powder involved… i haven’t taken the plunge to buy protein yet so i get sad when recipes include it! might have to try these very soon 🙂
These look so good! And I am ALWAYS too lazy to clean the food processor 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
These are the most perfect snack! I’m pinning them and making asap! They look delish!
This look delicious! And easy….love the ingredients!
Yes! I’ve got all the ingredients to make these babies. I love little grab and go energy snacks for pre-workout. And I also LOVE nut butter so this is amazing. 🙂 Thanks for the recipe!
Thanks for posting! I’m always looking for snack ball recipes that don’t include a food processor since I don’t have one.
Totally agree about cleaning the food processor. I usually try to convince the hubby to do that part for me 😉 These look like a perfect on-the-go snack!
Me too!! I play the “I made it, so you clean it” card on that one sometimes! 🙂
Those look great! I’m definitely a snacker so these would be perfect.
I feel ya! Cleaning the food processor is the biggest pain. Some recipes are just so worth it 🙂 these look great.
I love these!! They look so yummy, and they’re super simple, I will defiantly be trying these out when I have some leftover Almond Butter 😀
Ha – I just read this comment and thought, who ever has leftover almond butter? That never happens in my house. 😉
YUM! I love little snacks like that. I really like making them with your own ingredients and not having to rely on store-bought granola bars that have extra ingredients that you probably don’t need. I also appreciate that this recipe doesn’t use a food processor!! I don’t have one! Obviously, I need to change that soon to make some date balls, but oh well. . .
Oh girl, I am a HUGE snacker — I started a whole blog around my snacking abilities — so these are calling my name. Mmm mmm mmm.
Anything oatmeal + peanut butter is bound to be amazing… but I think the word “poppability” might be even more awesome!! Haha 🙂
great snack ideas
PB + Oats= winning combo 🙂
I don’t have a food processor, but have always wanted to try a recipe just like this, so this is perfect. Thanks for posting!
We make these all the time! Except we add coconut and chocolate chips to ours 🙂 They’re a perfect on-the-go snack and pick me up when you need a boost of energy!
Yum… made with my two favorites almond butter and peanut butter. Love that there is no need to clean up the pesky food processor!
Mmmhmmm huge snacker right here too! These look great!
I’ve made something similar and they are the best! Great snack on the go. Thanks for sharing your recipe
These look great and super easy to make! I bet they are really good right out of the freezer a little frozen, too 🙂 Can’t wait to try
I will definitely be making these! Great to keep in the fridge and grab and go. I am a college student (UCF, go knights!) and am always busy so I love snacks like this!!!
I made a similar batch earlier this summer for my family, and they were gone in a day! That’s mostly because my brother is a monster who eats everything he gets his hands on haha!
Mhmm they look relish! I love snacking as well. Whenever I eat a huge meal, I always feel so sluggish and want to take a nap haha. I guess I’m still a baby at heart 😉
These look great! And it’s always a good sign when I already have all the ingredients for a recipe in my pantry!
These look delicious! Perfect for me because I am pretty much ALWAYS too lazy to clean my food processor.
Love how fast and easy these seem to prepare (and eat!).
These sound delish! The only way I eat chia seeds is if they act as a “crunch” factor in things and these definitely seem like they’d need a little bit of crunch!
Can’t wait to make these! I’m always looking for healthy new snacks
yum! those look good…and even better, easy!
YUM I love oatmeal balls! So easy and cheap!
Shoot, if it can’t go in the dishwasher then I’m in trouble. I hate doing dishes! Can’t wait to try these!
These look amazing! I already ate my morning work snacks, I wish I could grab these through the computer. I’m so hungry today!
Best thing ever. Already addicted.
YUM! Going to make these today!
These look like he kind of snack that would really fill you up and give you energy to make it til the next meal without getting hungry again. Healthy too, great recipe!
A Golden State of Mind
These would be great lake or hiking snacks!
It’s been forever since I’ve made a quick healthy snack like this. Looks so good, Julie! And I’m the same way. I dislike cleaning the processor so I often end up using my Magic Bullet, haha.
That looks great! I just stick my processor in top shelf dishwasher! E
