Eventually I was over snacking through dinner and figured I should sit down to a real meal. One problem: Neither Ryan nor I were in the mood to cook.
In the end we decided to keep things simple.
English muffin pizzas to the rescue!
Roasted green beans served as our side and provided added nutrients to our meal.
And for dessert? I have a mini banana bread oatmeal loaf baking in the oven and it smells fantastic!
October Book Club
With nearly 54 percent of the vote, American Wife is the winning book for this month’s book club!
On November 15 I’ll dedicate a post to this book that will include my review and discussion questions like I did last time with Room.
I hope you guys will join me! I ordered this book for super cheap (less than $4!) on Amazon.com and it should be arriving this week!
Speaking of paying for books… I really need to get my act together and get a library card. I heard our new local library is actually quite nice and I still have yet to explore!
Another thing I need to do? Get a driver’s license with our new address and my new last name on it. I think I’m going to make it a point to do this before our one year wedding anniversary at the end of the month. Better late than never, right?

I’m psyched American Wife ended up as our pick. I’ve been wanting to read all 3 choices, but I already have this book ;). You should definitely join up with your local library. I used to buy all of my books, too, but ended up spending wayyyy to much money (I read very fast) and had so many to get read of when I was done. I did buy a Nook e-reader last year and read that some, but last year I joined my library (for the first time since I was a kid) and have been going through their books like crazy. I can’t remember the last time I bought a physical book 🙂

Cool! i have this book on hold at the library!
Also, idk about FL but be prepared to take a new photo! I thought i was just changing my name, and the “pleasant” man behind the camera said “new name, new photo!”
:p

I have to get a new license and change my last name too – and i have to do it to get my stupid library card! It’s like you are reading my to-do list 🙂

I got married in July and still haven’t changed my name. We just moved to GA 6 months ago and there is a LARGE possibility that we will be moving back to AL within the next year (or 2) and I really don’t want to go through the hassle (and expense) of getting new licenses. Can you “change” your name without changing it on your license. How does that work!? I’m so confused… what’s worse, is I actually call myself by the new last name and even us it a work. Hope that won’t get me in trouble :/

Curtis Sittenfield is a great author. I have read all of her book and they are all great in their own way. I hope you enjoy American Wife!

American Wife is a great book! I’m glad you picked it because I would love to join the discussion when you are finished!

I am in the same boat as you – I got married in May and still haven’t changed my name on my drivers license! The DMV just isn’t that appealing :).
