Good morning!
It’s a good morning over here, indeed. I’m off to Denver, Colorado this afternoon to spend the weekend with two of my best girlfriends, Michaela and Leah, and I can’t wait!
We’ve been friends since elementary school (they were also bridesmaids in our wedding and we were bridesmaids in Leah’s wedding in July) and I am so, so excited to see them.
Since I need to be out of the house before 10 a.m. and still have yet to pack, this morning is a go-go-go kind of morning!
Workout
Ryan and I began our day at the gym with 20 minutes on the elliptical before doing our own thang. I ended up completing an upper body workout that was nearly identical to this one.
And then it was time for breakfast!
Breakfast
I knew what I wanted for breakfast this morning since the minute I woke up!
Peanut butter and banana oatmeal, baby!
It doesn’t look like much, but boy does it taste good.
I prepared steel cut oats on the stove top and once they were done cooking, I added two spoonfuls of peanut butter and a chopped banana and let everything cook a bit more until the peanut butter and banana melted into the oats.
Sadie was more than happy to lick this bowl clean. She’s a peanut butter puppy!
I love that old picture of her.
She is so fixated on the spoonful of peanut butter. I can relate 100 percent.
Off to pack! See ya from the airport!
Good choice on the weekend trip 🙂 Luckily, you’re arriving after the death winds have disappeared!!!
you should try peanut butter and raisins in your oatmeal.. so good!
That’s awesome you are getting to meet up with friends for a fun weekend! Can’t wait for recaps! BTW, the oats are genius; never would have thought to add to pot that way PB is dispersed all throughout! Awesome!
I live in Denver too – so many great places! Welcome! I’d like to recommend cafe bar for brunch (Snooze is awesome too, but you don’t have to get up so early if you go to cafe bar). Larimer Square is fun! You might like Osteria Marco! Have a great time!
One more thing…Denver’s Restaurant Week starts on Saturday! For more information: http://www.denver.org/denverrestaurant/
Ahh, so jealous you’re heading to my hometown! I definitely second everyone’s recommendations for Snooze for brunch. I also really like Root Down for breakfast/lunch/brunch. Have a ton of fun!!
Mmm PB Banana oatmeal is my favorite! Have fun in Denver with your girls. 🙂
Peanut butter banana oats are my favorite! I thought for a second yours had chocolate in them too…I might have to do that tomorrow! 😉
Have fun in Denver!
