Hello, hello!
I’m back after a busy Monday! I spent the day in Orlando going through a “Healthy Living Principles” training which serves as a precursor for the LiveStrong adult cancer survivor group training that three of my coworkers and I will be going through in the coming month. My mom actually participated in the program following her breast cancer diagnosis, so I jumped at the opportunity to be a part of it. I’ll be sure to share more as the training continues!
Today
Today will also be a busy day, but it’s a different kind of busy since it’s all travel related. As soon as I am done publishing this post, I’ll be driving two hours to the airport to catch a flight to Los Angeles for the IDEA World Fitness Convention. To say I am excited would be a serious understatement. I’ve heard the most amazing things about this convention and since it’s in LA, I just know I’ll see at least 20 celebrities. Right!?
On Friday I will be flying directly from LA to Colorado for Michaela and Kyle’s wedding! Michaela is the most laidback bride in the whole world and said she doesn’t care what shoes we wear with our bridesmaid dresses as long as they’re nude. I currently have three pairs packed in my suitcase because I can’t make up my mind!
Any suggestions? I think I am leaning toward the snazzy shoes in the middle.
I think they’re so fun and I’ve never worn them before. They were my sister’s shoes and she didn’t want them anymore, so I scooped them up!
Workout
Today’s workout started a little too early for comfort. I feel like my body will crash hard tonight!
Ryan and I headed to the gym at 5 a.m. for a workout. My workout included 25 minutes of cardio that I split between the treadmill and the elliptical. I also did an upper body strength workout which felt great! I have always loved training my shoulders, so any workout that includes shoulder exercises is always a good one in my book.
Breakfast
Once we made it home from the gym, it was time for breakfast.
I toasted a whole wheat English muffin and topped it with crunchy Barney Butter almond butter and a drizzle of honey.
On the side I had a small bowl of scrambled eggs for some added protein.
Time to hit the road!
Jan @ Sprouts n Squats says
I think I prefer the ones on the left but I’m a big believer in shoes without straps over / around the ankle as I’m not the tallest and not having that ankle strap makes you look taller. The prettiest ones are the ones in the middle though 🙂
Charlotte @ Commitness to Fitness says
wow what a great cause. and have fun at the IDEA world fitness convention!! that’ll be so much fun! and def go with the shoes in the middle- those are perfect!!
Tanya says
I like the ones in the middle too!
Marie says
Me too! Since the line of the dress are classics, it would be a fun addition!
Mary Babicki says
Definitely go with the middle pair (so fun!) or the ones on the right, the plain pumps seem too everyday casual for a wedding. Hope you have fun in LA!!!!
Jackie says
Peanut butter and honey sandwiches remind me of school lunches growing up. Too bad they ban peanut butter in most schools. I still love to eat them with vegetable soup. Yum!
Nicole says
I love the style of your dress- designer!? Currently on the hunt for dresses for my bridesmaids.
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
J.Crew! The bride picked the color and we all got to pick the style!
Nicole says
Thanks! I love the color of your dress too!
Gena says
Middle shoes for sure! So fun & kind of dreamy! 😉 Is she letting you wear your hair however you’d like as well?? I’m torn about that for my wedding… so many decisions!! Have a great trip!
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
Yep! And she doesn’t care what jewelry we wear either! If you’re on the fence about the bridesmaid’s hair, I would let them choose! It really is nice to be able to wear your hair in a way that makes you feel comfortable. I didn’t care how the bridesmaid’s wore their hair for our wedding and I think they liked the flexibility! Some prefer their hair up while others feel more comfortable with it down, so I think options are always appreciated!
Kristin says
LOVE the shoes in the middle. Have an amazing time at in LA!
Sara @ LovingOnTheRun says
I think I would go with the middle pair as well! They are different and I’d imagine there aren’t THAT many things you can wear them with! Have a safe trip and an awesome time!!
Sarah @ Sweet Miles says
Loving the fluffy shoes! They’re so flirty and fun indeed!! And have a blast in LA! I’ll be expecting a full celeb-sighting report upon your return 🙂
Lisa says
Love the mint blue dress! That’s such a great cause. Have a safe trip and lots of fun!
Ali @ Peaches and Football says
Boy all 3 pairs of shoes look cute with that dress. I do think it’s a great opportunity to break in those fun middle ones. I love the poofs of white on them – really cute!
I like having the bridesmaids pick their style of dress. So often you see one girl who is really not able to wear the picked style well and I always feel bad for her. But by picking a color and letting the girls find something flattering to them, it helps make the day more enjoyable for everyone. 🙂
Dana says
that’s a BEAUTIFUL dress. beautiful color. i’d go with the center ones or the ones on the right. i think the pumps are a bit tailored for a wedding – especially if you’re a bridesmaid.
Kendra says
Definitely the shoes in the middle! They are adorable! Have a safe trip–and hope you run into some celebrities! 😉
Linz @ Itz Linz says
the snazzy shoes in the middle were exactly what i was thinking before you even typed that! 🙂 love the dress!
Jana @ Happy Wife Healthy Life says
I did the same thing for my bridesmaids-any shoe as long as it is nude. Definitely makes it easier on the girls to pick the style of shoe they are most comfortable wearing. I like the fun pair in the middle or the strappy pair on the right the best! 🙂
Lili says
Have fun in LA! I’m a bit jealous of your trip. I’m from LA and haven’t been in a year and a half. I miss my family terribly! Just so expensive to fly my whole family. I don’t know why the military moved us allllll the way across the country (charleston, sc). Nevertheless, enjoy the beautiful weather!
Nicole @ FruitnFitness says
I love the dress! It’s fun to have a choice of shoes to pick from. I hope you have fun in LA!
Racheal @ Running with Racheal says
I vote for the middle shoes, although all three pairs are cute! So is the dress.
Safe travels! <3
Holly @ EatGreatBEGreat says
Wow, you’re super busy lately! At least all your busy sounds fun though!
The dress is gorgeous! I love the color! I like the snazzy shoes too! I think they’re perfect for the simplicity of the dress.
Heather @fitncookies says
Love the shoes in themiddle! I think you are smart for taking all of them. That way you can get the bride and bridesmaids opinions 🙂 Have a safe flight and enjoy! I heard great things about this conference!
Christa @ Situps & Sequins says
I vote the “snazzy” shoes, for sure! 🙂 And, as a fellow celebrity lover, I hope you get to see a few (or 20)!!!
Victoria says
Definitely those middle shoes! Adorable. My friend’s laid back, too – we all picked a dress together and the rest is up to us. It’s so much more fun that way, and I think the pictures have a little more character because everyone can be themselves.
Jackie Macharsky says
Definitely the middle ones! So snazzy!
Megan says
Go for the middle pair but bring flops! I wore a new pair of heels to a wedding last summer and they ATE my feet up. I was barefoot by the reception.
Hannah @ CleanEatingVeggieGirl says
I like the shoes in the middle and on the right…can’t decide! I don’t think that I would go with the shoes on the left because they might be a bit too casual for a bridesmaid shoe.
Katie @ running4cupcakes says
Have fun in LA – I can’t wait to hear more about the conference. And I would go with the middle shoes too – as long as they are comfy. 🙂
Katie @ Daily Cup of Kate says
I like the middle ones too, but I say bring them all and see what other bridesmaids are wearing and then choose 🙂
Jenny says
Definitely the ones in the middle! So much fun for a wedding!!!
Melissa says
Sounds like it should be an exciting trip, plus a fun wedding! The bridesmaid dress you’ll be wearing is so pretty! I love the color!
Ashley @ Life and Fitness says
Laidback brides are the best. When people feel comfortable in how they look, they have a better time!
Melanie says
I agree with you on the shoes! The ones in the middle are my favorite! Hope you have a fun time 🙂
Julie M says
Middle pair or right pair. Both so cute!
Danica @ It's Progression says
I vote for the shoes in the middle too 🙂
Have a safe trip! You’re so busy all of the time – I hope you get some time to rest, too!
Shannon says
You are going to have such a fun week 🙂 Is Ryan going to join you in Colorado? The dress is so pretty, I personally would choose the strappy shoes on the right. I always like just one thing to be the stand out and if was me it would be the dress. What earrings and necklace are you wearing? Have a great time and look forward to reading the recaps 🙂
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
Yep! Ryan and I are meeting up at the Denver airport on Friday morning! And the bride is letting us choose our jewelry so I’m not sure what I will be wearing just yet!
Kaitlin @4loveofcarrots says
I like the shoes in the middle as well! They are super fun and cute! I LOVEEEE the dress and the color! Have fun in LA. If you don’t see any celebrities you will definitely be able to see “KISS” hanging outside of the Coffee Bean on Hollywood Boulevard!
Ashley @ My Food N Fitness Diaries says
Your life is FULL of weddings lately! I love it! Must be so fun!
Maureen @SheisMoments says
Julie how long do you spend at the gym each morning. Like actually working out – how long does it take?
Cheryl says
Love the ones on the right.
Kristy @ Kristy's Health Revolution says
I’m like Michaela I even had trouble with my bridesmaids when I told them to get whatever dress and shoes they wanted — I gave them a color for each and just had them go to town. I’m in LOVE with the way they all look together.
Chelsea @ Chelsea Eats Treats says
Love the shoes in the middle!
Kim Bever says
Middle! That dress is begging you to wear the shoes in the middle! ;p
Sky @ The Blonde In Black says
I love the ones on the left! But the ones in the middle are pretty darn cute. Have a blast in LA!! That is one city I am dying to visit!
Christine@ Apple of My Eye says
I really like the shoes to the left, but the ones in the middle are really fun :). I’m so jealous that you get to attend so many weddings! I live by LA and have yet to see a single celeb hahah! Hopefully you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of some 😉
Meagan says
Middle shoes are so cute! Walk around in them a little if you haven’t already, just in case they are feet killers…don’t want to worry about that for the wedding!
Megan (The Lyons' Share) says
I like the shoes in the middle! And I’m super jealous of the conference – looks really interesting! Will look forward to your reports back to us 🙂
Lauren says
I finally tried a English muffin with almond butter and drizzled honey yesterday and WOW. Real honey makes a difference instead of using a “honey peanut butter”… Ugh, it was melty and warm. YUM.
I really love the shoes you’re leaning towards because of the little flower details! It’s very wedding like!
Deanne says
Can you do a post of your favorite shoulder exercises? I was in a car accident and hurt my upper back and it has made my shoulders really weak. I need to strengthen them but get bored with the 4 exercises the physiotherapist showed me.
Liz @ I Heart Vegetables says
All of those shoes are cute, but you should wear the ones in the middle since you probably don’t have that opportunity as often!
Ally says
We are having some hot weather here in CO lately (nothing compared to what you have in FL though!), so I think the open-toed shoes would be best. The middle ones seem to take the cake, and I agree!
For earrings – pearls?
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine says
I agree with you, go with the middle ones! So cute, fun, and different!
