Workout
Today started like any other Friday in our household… with a sweaty workout.
Ryan and I headed to the gym an initially hopped on side-by-side ellipticals, but when Ryan’s machine started clicking and making funky noises, we hopped off and decided to do 20 minutes of incline walking on the treadmill instead.
I honestly feel like walking on an incline can be harder than running at times. Phew.
Treadmill time was followed by an upper-body workout that included the following exercises:
- Superset One: Lat pull downs + Upright rows
- Superset Two: Incline bicep curls + Overhead press
- Superset Three: Tricep dips + Chest press
- Tricep pull downs
- Bicep curls (3 minutes non-stop, inspired by BodyPump)
- Mac raises (Also inspired by BodyPump)
- Ab work on the exercise ball
My arms feel like Jello now!

Clearly I’m still on my egg sandwich kick. Mmm.

The last whole grain “meal” I had was a salmon patty flat-out whole grain wrap 🙂 yummo.
And this weekend, I plan on making whole wheat shrimp pasta….. I also cooked whole wheat noodles for my dogs last night mixed with boiled eggs & celery –>> yes, I am crazy

I made a whole grain flat bread pizza for dinner last night (I got the recipe from one of your recent blog posts!) 🙂
I just had a smoothie topped with some peanut butter granola made with old-fashioned oats!

I made snickerdoodle blondies last weekend and used whole wheat flour instead of tradional white. They were so delicious, they are already gone!
Just ate my breakfast burritos in a whole wheat wrap. Yumm!

I just had some whole grain baguette with my soup last night! So that was the most recent I suppose. 🙂
before my workout this morning I had half a whole wheat pancake for some fuel and then after i enjoyed my usual breakfast of banana oatmeal with almond butter. I joke I’d eat it all day everyday if I could.
I had oatmeal this morning for breakfast!! Oats are quite possibly my favorite whole grain!
For breakfast (well, and also breakfast yesterday and dinner last night), I ate homemade granola made with Quaker old fashioned oats. As you can see, I have a problem keeping homemade granola around my house for too long 🙂
I enjoyed a chipotle burrito last night with brown rice. I love whole grains!!

I have recently been enjoying oatmeal with crumbled pumpkin bread/muffin on top for breakfast. So good!

The last meal I had with whole grains was a Fitnessista inspired breakfast cookie made with pumpkin and dark chocolate chips for the mix ins! Mmm 🙂

i have had quite a few yummy sandwiches this week on whole grain bread. i also love whole grain oatmeal with cinnamon, brown sugar, chopped walnuts, dried cranberries, and a sprinkle of ground flaxseed! what an awesome giveaway, thanks girl!! happy weekend to ya!
I had whole wheat penne with marinara sauce this week along with some homemade black bean burgers that were made with oat flour last week.
I had oatmeal with pumpkin and pumkin pie spice this morning! Fall in a bowl! Yum.
For lunch today I packed a beautiful tofu, hummus and veggie sandwich on two slices of 100% whole wheat!
I ate a bowl of Cheerios! (I always seem to be grabbing a handful of that stuff… so good!)
