Workout
Today started like any other Friday in our household… with a sweaty workout.
Ryan and I headed to the gym an initially hopped on side-by-side ellipticals, but when Ryan’s machine started clicking and making funky noises, we hopped off and decided to do 20 minutes of incline walking on the treadmill instead.
I honestly feel like walking on an incline can be harder than running at times. Phew.
Treadmill time was followed by an upper-body workout that included the following exercises:
- Superset One: Lat pull downs + Upright rows
- Superset Two: Incline bicep curls + Overhead press
- Superset Three: Tricep dips + Chest press
- Tricep pull downs
- Bicep curls (3 minutes non-stop, inspired by BodyPump)
- Mac raises (Also inspired by BodyPump)
- Ab work on the exercise ball
My arms feel like Jello now!

Clearly I’m still on my egg sandwich kick. Mmm.

I had a whole wheat bagel thin, with an egg over easy!
Went apple picking last weekend and made a delicious apple crisp with whole grain oats in the topping! YUM!

I’ve been loving quinoa salads lately. This week I made one with lentils and mint.
I had a whole grain bagel this morning! Yay for bagel Fridays at work!
This weekend I will be using Quaker Oats to make some delicious Cranberry Oatmeal Cookies for my youth group. Whole grains for the win!
The last meal I had with whole grains was breakfast! A big ol’ bowl of MultiGrain Cheerios with skim milk (usually I have them with strawberries but they are sadly very expensive now that it’s no longer berry season 🙁 ).
Breakfast this morning! I had fruit with granola that features gluten-free oats. Yum!
I had oatmeal for breakfast, and plan on having that or oatmeal pancakes this weekend since it’s getting cooler!

In true blogger fashion, I had a bowl of PB + banana oats this morning. For a twist, I decided to superfood ’em up with chia seeds, cocao nibs, and maca.
I have at least one serving of whole grains (most of the time more) each day! This morning I had whole grain granola with coconut milk and a slice of whole grain bread with jam!
I just entered the giveaway! I just lost my ipod nano so this would be awesome!

I had a big bowl of Quaker oats (heyo!) with a scoop of vanilla protein powder, chia seeds, sliced apple, peanut butter and honey. SO good!
Had an amazing bowl of oatmeal with blueberries this morning!!!
I had a bowl of oatmeal made with old-fashioned rolled oats, banana, cinnamon, and topped with NF plain yogurt– and an extra dash of cinnamon 🙂

Just this morning I had a big bowl of overnight pumpkin oatmeal, made with quaker oats of course :]
I had the bottom of my almond butter jar left so I made some overnight Oates with Quaker old fashioned and protein powder and chia seeds. One of my faves!!!!

I make a big pot of southwestern quinoa every week to bring to work for lunches! Also, steel cut oats for breakfast since they’re so filling! Always gets me through the morning!

Just ate 2 pieces of whole grain bread with a dippy egg!
I eat oatmeal when I get the chance for a early breakfast.
I made baked panzanella caprese (from Iowa Girl Eats) the other night but used locally-made 9 grain bread instead of white bread. It was amazing!
Awesome giveaway! The last meal I made with whole grains was banana peanut butter overnight oats, using Quaker Oats! i used your method of frozen bananas too! 🙂
For dinner, I made a great veggie curry and served it over a mix of long grain brown rice and brown basmati rice =)
