Onion Overload

November 11, 2009 by Julie 13 Comments

Onions are delicious and add so much flavor to any dish that needs a little oomph. Case in point: a boring turkey sandwich.

Throw in an onion bagel and some sauteed red onions and your boring lunch staple is transformed!

Today’s lunch was a simple turkey bagel sandwich prepared on a fresh Alternative Bagel onion bagel with red onion, feta cheese, spinach, plum tomato and dijon mustard.

Holy Turkey!

Simple, easy, delicious.

Gemma Ward Quits Modeling Amid Weight Criticism

The latest news on the fashion front? Gemma Ward, the beautiful healthy-looking 22-year-old Australian supermodel, decided to quit modeling this week following attacks from the media about her weight gain.

Here is the picture that spawned the weight attacks:

Call me crazy, but this looks like a healthy woman… not someone with even a teeny ounce of a weight problem. And we wonder why girls are always questioning their appearance rather than embracing their bodies…

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Great article — I think Gemma looks like a healthy, normal 20-something. The modeling industry continues to be crazy. She is smart to leave 🙂

I agree with you on onions – they spice things up 🙂 Unfortunately my husband isn’t always of the same opinion. He likes them in moderation though 🙂

    Mmmmm….LOVE onions!!

That is ridiculous. I think both women are beautiful. I only say this because the model’s face is healthy looking.

I love Gemma. She’s one of my favorite models. I’m sad that the critics drove her to quit. It reminds me of Crystal Renn. I’m reading her memoir “Hungry.” It’s a great read with lots of juicy industry gossip. It’s also very sad. The industry just chews these girls up and spits them out.

    Your bagel looks great!

Her weight’s fine- it’s the outfit I’m concerned about!

Seriously though, she’s gorgeous, ugh. Stupid critics.

That’s just insane to me- she looks normal and HEALTHY in that pic on the right of her in the street. I’m sorry, but when did that become a problem?

Your bagel sandwich looks so good ps!

I couldn’t agree more about Gemma! It’s so sad that women and young girls have to see such articles criticizing a woman of a perfectly healthy size!
