Original Portrait Giveaway

November 22, 2011 by Julie 679 Comments

I am so excited about the giveaway I have coming your way today!

About a week ago, I received an email from Meredith, a beautiful artist from Virginia. She is graduating in a few weeks from Longwood University with a BFA with a concentration in painting and drawing and is beginning to build a career as a fine artist and a portrait artist.

She sent me an amazing watercolor portrait that she did of Sadie and I was absolutely blown away.

dog print 005

Isn’t it amazing!? (And yes, I still have it in its protective wrapping until I can get it framed, hence the glare. I don’t want to take any chances with it!)

When I showed Ryan the picture he was just as impressed with her work as I was and we both treasure this gorgeous piece of art from Meredith.

Meredith has generously offered to do a giveaway of one single-subject watercolor portrait of an animal or person (approximately 10’’ x 12’’). (Check out her blog to see a current portrait she’s working on of an adorable little girl!)

Meredith notes that her work will be “as dynamic as the photograph allows,” and says that a vibrant, engaging photo will help her produce a vibrate, engaging portrait!

All I can think about right now when I think about this giveaway is what an amazing gift one of her original portraits would be for new parents (a baby portrait would be adorable!), an enthusiastic pet owner or parents of a recent graduate… or you can get one done of a pet or person who is special to you to keep for yourself!

If you would like to work with Meredith or check out some of her work, you may browse her Etsy shop, visit her blog or Facebook page or follow her on Twitter.

To enter this giveaway, simply comment below, telling me what you would like a portrait of if you won an original portrait from Meredith!

I will randomly select a winner tomorrow afternoon. Good luck!!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Beautiful! I would love to have a portrait done from a picture of my cute dog Zoey and my loveable cat Madi. This would be extra special because Madi has gone missing and has yet to be found. I would love to remember her and the two crazy animals together in this way. Keep up the great work on the blog, your recent halfs have inspired me

okay well when I saw this, I first thought of my pup… but then I thought my family’s two little doggies, one is 17 and one is 5… the older one, who I grew up with, is not doing so well this year and we think it’ll be her last Christmas. So my parents would absolutely love that

I would give my mom a portrait of just me in my wedding gown that she would be proud to hang in her home next to her bridal portrait. My husband and I married a year ago and had a destination wedding; as such, we did not get all the pictures we would have liked and my mom was not able to get a full blown bridal portrait of me because the bahamian photographer didn’t use good film so my pictures cannot be blown up to the size they need to be for a wall hanging.

That watercolor of Sadie is the bomb! I would definitely get a portrait done of my horse Abby, who died a couple years ago when I was a sophomore in college. She was my best friend all through high school and I miss her every day, so I would love a nice watercolor to commemorate her.

I love this! I actually had a painting done of my husband’s dog as my wedding gift to him! Actually, it was his parents’ dog, but that’s where he lived, & of course, he was sad to leave him behind. Now, we’ll always have the painting!

I would love to get a painting done for my parents of their dog. He’s not doing so well health-wise, & I know they would love to have something like this! 🙂
