Our weekend kicked off with a soccer game for Chase on Friday night. He scored a goal but his team lost again which I think is going to be a bit of a theme for the team this season. Coming off a season where Chase’s team was undefeated, he’s thankfully handling it well and part of me thinks he might get even more out of this season from a personal and emotional growth perspective. Can you tell we’re looking for the silver linings this season? Ha!
Ryan arrived home from India an hour after all the boys were in bed on Friday but you better believe they were all psyched to see Dad when they woke up on Saturday morning. Ryan was majorly jet-lagged on Saturday but rallied for play time with the boys. We also made it out to the high school musical at Chase’s school and then called it an early night.
Sunday morning I woke up with an idea! I’m fairly sure I’ve seen Janae do this on her blog in the past but I thought it might be fun to recap our Sunday through photos with one picture recapping every hour of the day. Keep on scrolling for a peek into our Sunday from the moment I woke up to the moment I turned out the lights and called it a night!
Our Sunday: One Picture Per Hour
6:30 a.m. Rise and shine! Pepper says it’s time to pee and play!
7:30 a.m. Pancakes with my little helpers.
8:45 a.m. Dressed and ready for church.
9:30 a.m. Church!
10:45 a.m. Off-roading in our backyard.
11:45 a.m. A million rounds of Dinosaur Memory and lunch for the boys.
12:30 p.m. Dru, our friend from college and one of Ryan’s best friends, arrives in town for the afternoon with his dad!
1:30 p.m. I think the crockpot chicken chili I made for our lunch was a hit.
2:45 p.m. Outside playtime! Pepper is turning into quite the little lake dog and wanted to fetch pinecones out of the water.
3:30 p.m. The big kids change into their soccer gear and request “soccer practice” with Ryan while Rhett is napping.
4:00 p.m. Quick work blitz for me! We said goodbye to Dru and his dad and Ryan took the big kids outside for soccer fun while I got a little work done.
5:15 p.m. Amazon delivery arrives with the stuff I ordered for the boys’ Easter baskets: Decorate-your-own flower growing kit, nectar for the hummingbird feeder I ordered, diamond painting stickers a friend hiiighly recommended, 4-pack of 12-ounce glass cups with lids and straws and a fishing game for bath tub fun
Plus a little more outside fun…
6:30 p.m. Bath time for the boys, pajamas, dinner time.
7:40 p.m. Stories, prayers and bed time for the boys.
8:30 p.m. Pepper says it’s time to stop cleaning up around the house, get in bed and cuddle.
9:00 p.m. Reading until my eyes can no longer stay open.
The end!

Hi Julie! Happy Monday 🙂 what a great concept about 1 photo per hour to recap the day!
Wishing you & your family a fantastic week ahead.

Thanks!! It was a fun way to recap our day & I remember thinking it was a neat concept when I saw it on Janae’s blog (I think it was her blog at least)!!

Please do not use the store bought red hummingbird liquid. You can make your own. 🙂
“Hummingbirds: No Red Dye. Everybody loves hummingbirds, so the last thing we want to do is to harm them. Do not use red-dye solution or add red food coloring in your hummingbird feeders. Commercial nectars contain a petroleum-based dye, Red Dye #40.”
Julie says
Oh wow thanks for this heads up! We haven’t used a hummingbird feeder ever before so very new to this — definitely want to keep them safe and healthy!
Reenie says
You’re welcome 🙂
Directions for making safe hummingbird food:
Mix 1 part sugar with 4 parts water (for example, 1 cup of sugar with 4 cups of water) until the sugar is dissolved. Do not add red dye. Fill your hummingbird feeders with the sugar water and place outside.
Ashley says
Yes! So easy to make.
We use that same recipe for our hummingbird feeder. Basically a diluted simple syrup!
Caitlyn says
Also, anything other than white, non-organic, granulated sugar can contain things that aren’t suitable for hummingbirds.
And the feeder should be cleaned and new liquid added at least once a week to prevent mold growth that can sicken the birds.
Enjoy the hummingbirds! We got a feeder last year and enjoyed watching them all summer 🙂

What are you reading these days?!

I’m reading the A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas and loving it!

Would you mind sharing where your blue couch is from?

That is decidedly not the church I grew up with …. mine was stodgy, repetitively boring and very judgemental. Looks enjoyable.

I love the outfit and the church photo! My church family has become part of my family, and I love seeing people share their experience with their faith community. The joy we experience in community with other people of faith, including those of different religions, is so important. I’m glad you have a community to share in the joy of Christ with.
