Good morning!
Thank you for leaving such thoughtful comments on yesterday’s post. You guys make me smile.
Workout
My morning began with the annoying sound of the alarm clock at 5 a.m. Ryan and I rolled out of bed, changed into our workout gear and drove to the gym.
Once we were there, we warmed up together for 20 minutes before I hopped off the elliptical and completed the Quick ‘n’ Sweaty Boot Camp Workout that I blogged about last week. It’s definitely a fast one and before I knew it, I was chillin’ in Ryan’s car, riding back home, ready to make breakfast.
Breakfast
Breakfast this morning began with a hot mug of s’mores coffee.
Oh yes!
I sipped on my coffee and ate a banana while I cooked up a batch of scrambled eggs with sausage and onion.
And now I’m off to the gym to start my work day!
AFAA’s APEX Event
Just a friendly little note for those of you who might be interested in becoming a group exercise instructor…
This weekend is AFAA’s APEX event where you can get a bunch of different fitness-related certifications for only $99! Most of their certifications can cost nearly $300, so this is a great deal! If this is something that interests you, but you need time to study and prepare, the next APEX event is in February, so I’d hold off until then.
If you will be taking the group exercise certification exam this weekend and are curious about the format of the workshop and the written and practical exam, here’s a link to a previous post I published all about my experience: AFAA Group Exercise Certification. Good luck!

Your breakfast looks delicious! I love that you and your hub not only work out together, but you both wake up at the crack of dawn to go together. True love at it’s finest. Have a great Tuesday!
I got in an early workout this morning, too. That s’mores coffee looks really good. Is it super sweet? I don’t usually buy flavored coffee because of that, but I’m basically a coffee addict so I’ll try anything!
Nope! Not too sweet at all!
That egg scramble looks so good!! There’s nothing like a good hot breakfast! I’m jealous of your workout this morning..I’m feeling pretty slumpy this morning, need to do something extra-sweaty tonight 🙂
I love egg scrambles for lunch! I love breakfast foods!
You know, I’ve actually been thinking about group exercise certification lately, it’s like you read my mind! i obviously need time to prepare and research and all that, but thanks for this link!!
You’d have MORE than enough time to prepare if you decide to take advantage of the APEX deal in February! Good luck to you if you decide to go for it!
Mmm s’mores coffee! Where did you get that at?
Target! It’s made by Archer Farms.
I love workouts like that!!!
HI! I know its not related, but Ive notice in some of your posts, you wear a garmin watch. Can you tell me what it is and how you like it? The strap on my polar is dead, so Im in the market for a new HRM, but was thinking one with GPS would be great too.
S’mores coffee is my absolute favorite! Target has the best variety of coffee flavors… Gotta love Archer Farms. I’m definitely interested in getting certified to teach group exercise. Thanks for the link (and the reminder!)
One day I will make the leap and become a group x instructor! It’s been on my bucket list along with a Flywheel instructor! At least I got my foot in the door there when I start working there in Oct!
I just got Smores coffee from my local farmer’s market and it is AWESOME. I’m so in love!
I LOVE it when workouts are like that! Getting in a quick workout that still leaves you feeling “worked out” make me love quick circuits like the one you posted 🙂
I admire the fact that you got up at 5 for your workout! I definitely snoozed through mine…and now I’m having to decide between using my lunch break or going after work. Hindsight is always 20/20 I guess. 🙂
I definitely love when workouts go by like that. Which may be why I love being a pilates instructor. I find the fast pace of the class seriously makes it go by SO fast. I always can’t believe an hour has gone by after it’s over.
Smores coffee sounds awesome, I’ve just gotten into the flavored stuff and must admit it’s a nice change.
S’mores coffee?!?! Yes please! Where did you find it?
Great to know about the APEX event in February! I wasn’t able to do the one this weekend, but I’m going to try to make it for the next one.
Smores coffee sounds amazing…like seriously.
That event sounds like a great deal and definitely something to look into!
That is awesome! And I love when workouts just fly by when I am in my element 🙂
YUMMM smores coffee?! I found pumpkin spice coffee at Target a little bit ago and I can’t get enough of it!
I’ve been through two bags already also. Deeelicious.
where did you get s’mores coffee!? I need to try that!
I guess the Pumpkin recipes are starting to come out 🙂 I need to get on the band wagon it is already feeling like fall and I have not made ONE thing involving pumpkin…the shame!!
S’mores coffee?! Delicious!
I just got certified to teach BodyPump and it was the most intense weekend of my life – but such an amazing experience!
I just got caught up on all of your posts about AFAA cert and NASM – def very good info. I’ve been on the fence about doing the NASM cert. They had a Labor Day deal, but I wasn’t quite ready to commit, I’m hoping to take the leap soon!!
That certification events sounds so awesome! I can’t believe they are on sale, if that’s a simple way to call it, hehehe. And lately I have been loving short intense workouts since I only have so much time to spare because of my three month old daughter 😉 Sometimes she even likes to watch me do my burpee jumps!
Aww, I miss getting up at the crack o’ dawn to hit the gym with my hubby. He started working from home again, so I’m the early bird around here since he can and will get those extra minutes of sleep in without a commute to worry about!
Have a fabulous day!
I’m still jealous of your s’mores coffee — YUM!
Have a great day!
That coffee looks heavenly! I love flavored coffee. The place I get mine in the morning has this delicious coconut cream coffee that is to die for!
First, I MUST know where did you find some s’mores coffee. I totally want some!
Second, your breakfast looks delicious
I’m always so impressed at you ability to wake up so early for your workouts…truly something to aspire to!
I have a friend studying for her AFAA certification, so I told her she needs to start reading your blog. Thanks for the info!
My certification for personal training is through NASM. Do you happen to know how many CEU’s NASM gives for group cert through AFAA’s program for group training? I want to do group exercise training but also want to reach my required CEU’s that NASM requires for continued certification.
I love that you get up to work out and then head back to the gym for work! Talk about dedication. You coffee sounds really yummy!
s’mores coffee…that has my name on it! I love morning workouts..I love knowing I’m done and can focus on other things!
Bfast is the best!!! 5am workouts are the way to go, for sure.
S’mores coffee!?! I don’t even drink coffee, but I’d totally go for that! Yum!
I am going to do that Quick and Sweaty Boot Camp workout tomorrow morning at the gym! I just printed it out at work 🙂 Thanks in advance for kickin’ my butt!
S’mores coffee? Is that some kind of instant mix or do you add marshmallows and chocolate to your coffee?! Sounds amazing and I must try this!
OMG I need that coffee in my life asap! Going to Target tonight just for this 😉
Those eggs really look tasty! YUM! I’ve never tried S’mores coffee before. I assume its delicious!
Do you add creamer to your coffee? It always looks like the “perfect color,” you know, like chocolate milk. I’ve tried So Delicious and Silk creamers, but I’m not a fan of either.
thank you for the shout out!! miss you. xoxo
I did this workout today and it was amazing!! I loved every minute of it! thanks Julie for sharing!!! I am starting to think about the certification as I continue to gear mine and my husband’s life to a healthy living lifestyle!!!
I’m catching up on your blog and drinking out of the same Lighthouse Café mug!
