Good morning and Happy November! The start of November officially jumps starts that warm and fuzzy feeling inside me that goes along with the holiday season.
Bring on the turkey, Christmas music and family time!
When the alarm went off this morning, Ryan and I opted to skip the gym in favor of more sleep. I woke up with a sore throat and a headache yesterday that eventually subsided by the afternoon, but I figured a little extra sleep couldn’t hurt.
I may try to take Sadie on a run when I take a brief break around lunchtime, but we’ll see.
Sadie doesn’t lie. If we neglect her daily exercise even the tiniest bit, she goes into super-psycho mode and brings us every single toy out of her toy basket to try to entice us into playing and then sighs and makes other depressing noises until we acknowledge her. Such a little bundle of joy!
Breakfast
Breakfast today was a cheese and jelly bagelwich made with two slices of Swiss cheese and raspberry preserves and served with a side of strawberry banana Greek yogurt.
Ryan is convinced there is no better Greek yogurt flavor out there than strawberry banana and I may have to agree. My runner up flavors include pineapple, mango and plain strawberry, but there’s something so perfect about the 2 percent strawberry banana. It’s almost custard-like. I wonder if it would be good frozen?
Oxygen Magazine
Yesterday when I went to pick up Halloween candy for the trick-or-treaters, I also nabbed the latest issue of Oxygen magazine.
Check it out!
I was interviewed by a freelance writer for the magazine a couple months ago after she saw my blog post about exercise mantras and I was really excited to see the article in print.
This article prompted me to stop being a slacker and update my Press page yesterday.
I may have to call upon some of the exercise mantras mentioned in the article to get my booty out there for a run with Sadie later today, huh?
But first I need to get some real work done. Work before play, so they say.
OMG I’m so excited for you!! I can’t wait to get my issue in the mail so I can read this. Have a fantastic day my dear 🙂
Congrats on the Oxygen Magazine feature! That is so awesome! I’m definitely going to have to check out this issue!! 🙂
Oh wow, Julie that is so awesome!!!! Congrats :). You are a healthy living rockstar! Hope you have an awesome day pretty lady!
Aaah congrats Julie!! I’ve been following your blog for a while now and love it! You have such a great perspective on fitness/food being enjoyable and balanced! I’ve struggled a lot with ED, exercise guilt, etc and your blog is so encouraging to me!! Thanks and congrats!
Your mantras post was one of my favorite! There were so many good ones in there and I refer back to it all the time. I’ll have to keep my eyes open for the magazine to check out the article. Congratulations!
Awesome!!! I love Oxygen Mag. I was going to nab it, too, but forgot! I’m definitely going to get it! Congrats on the article!!
Congrats Julie!!! Oxygen is my favorite magazine, can’t wait to check it out.
AWESOME!!!
I’ve been meaning to ask you, on a regular day, how long do you spend at the gym? And am I right in thinking that you go to the gym and then go for a run with Sadie?
Must be amazing to be in a magazine 😀 well done!
most of my workouts last no more than an hour. i’ll usually go to the gym OR go for a run with sadie, but not both in one day. i did that maybe 1 or 2 times last month, but only b/c i’m training for a half marathon and wanted to make sure to get my mileage in.
phew! you got me worried for a moment 😀 I’m knackered after an hour of cardio!
That’s so awesome that you’re in the magazine! I’ve never tried the strawberry banana chobani since they only have it in 2% but I do love the flavor combo!
i think the 2% is what makes it SO creamy! definitely worth trying!
it could also be the #2 ingredient listed: cream! 🙂
Congrats! This is so exciting, you muct be psyched!
I JUST picked this issue up yesterday 😀 Congrats lady!
congratulations on your article thats amazing!
Dude! Rad!
Congrats on the piece! That’s awesome!
Also awesome — yesterday morning, when I made one of your famous bagelwiches for the first time. “Egg and cheese and jelly TOGETHER?” my dad scoffed, and I was like, “YEAH, DAD, I SAW IT IN A BLOG.”
make him try it and he will be converted! that was ryan’s reaction at first, too, and now he loves them as much as i do!
CONGRATS!!!! How cool! You must have been so excited!! <3
Awesome, Julie! Congrats! 😀
Congrats on the article! That’s awesome!
That is so exciting! Congrats! What an honor!
My Golden Retriever, Chloe, will do the same thing as Sadie with her toys. However, instead of making noise, she will de-stuff them all. Yesterday I came home to a Santa toy that had seen better days. Haha. Even with the mess sometimes, it’s still cute. That’ll teach us to ignore them!
Congrats! I saw it when I read through that issue a few weeks ago 🙂 Oxygen is the BEST magazine.
WAHOO! So excited for you. That rocks, girl 🙂
Love Greek yogurt. Oh so creamy and good!
Bah! How exciting! I might have to go buy a copy now.
Congrats! That’s Awesome!!
And duh, congratulations on the article! 🙂
I agree on the Strawberry Banana Chobani! It’s definitely one of my favorites too.
That’s so awesome about the article in Oxygen, Julie! I’m sure it must be so neat to see your name in a big named magazine. Congrats!
How can I see this article???
Congrats! Well deserved, your dedication and energy is inspiring! Is that you in the photo sitting on the dock as well?
Awesome! Oxygen is my favorite mag!
Congrats! That is my favorite magazine 🙂
I agree Strawberry Banana is my favorite flavor too! Now only if I could fin Chobani in Canada!
Congrats on the Oxygen article, so cool!
Aw! My pup does the same thing! If she doesn’t get her evening walk she will grab her leash and whimper and then run to the front door and try to open it. She goes nuts! Pups are the greatest!
Great job on being recognized in Oxygen magazine! Well deserved. Power to ya on those early morning workouts!
Congrats! That’s awesome Julie! Can’t wait to read it.
I love the cup in your picture (the one w/ the leaves on it). Where is that from? Very Fall-ish!
Congratulations on the article!!!! That’s so cool 🙂
it’s actually a candle holder! i got it from yankee candle outlet.
hahaha, in the words of Homer Simpson, “D’oh!”.
EEE! How very exciting! Congrats girly 🙂
Congrats on the article! Strawberry banana is my favorite too but for some reason not of the grocery stores around me carry it! It’s so frustrating. They literally have every other kind. Have you heard chobani is introducing three new flavors in January?
Congrats on Oxygen Magazine! That’s so exciting!
My dog sounds very similar to Sadie. If she doesn’t get some running around time or at least one long walk every day, she will put all of her toys on your feet (not just near you, on you) and make these super pathetic sighs and grumbling noises. Lately, I’ve been calling her “Darth” (after darth vader) – their breathing is very similar!
Oxygen magazine is so great!! My dog, Brownie was a lot like this when she was younger. She’s much more relaxed now, but still loves a nice, long walk.
Congrats on the feature! I just headed over to the press page…super impressive!
Congrats on the article! That is so awesome! Now I’m going to have to go buy a copy. 🙂
Wow Julie congrats! That is so exciting!
Congratulations! I wouldn’t mind seeing that front page in place of kim m’s divorce 🙁 what a celebrity you’ve become! How exciting!
Congratulations on the Oxygen article! I don’t normally read Oxygen, but I’ll have to check that out 🙂
Congrats!! I’m going to grab the issue at lunch! So excited to read it!
YAY! Congratulations! So exciting :). Can’t wait to read it!
holy crap!! i didn’t know that was you!! i love oxygen mag 🙂 congratulations!!
Congrats on the article! You are making me want to try that cheese and jelly combo, I just couldn’t get it when I first saw you eating it, but I could possibly become a convert!
Congrats, Julie! Oxygen is one of my favorite magazines!
Congrats on the article! I’ll have to pick it up!
I’ve been a cheese and jelly lover ever since my days of Sausage Cheese McDonald’s Breakfast Biscuits. I’ve now converted to more “real” products, but nothing beats the sweet/salty/savory combo!
what an awesome article!! congrats, julie!
is that blue napkin williams sonoma? if so, we have the same ones.. so cute 🙂
