I hope you find something for someone you love below! An added bonus? Everything you’ll find in this gift guide is is under $150!
- Activity Tracker
Activity trackers absolutely exploded in popularity this year. They’re a great way to encourage extra movement throughout the day and motivate people to add in some extra steps to reach their personal goals.
Popular fitness trackers: Fitbit, Polar Loop, Jawbone UP24
- Cute, Cozy Pullover or Zip Up Jacket
I’m not sure what it is about pullovers and zip-ups that I love so much, but I swear you can never have too many of them! I wear them daily whether it be to/from Pure Barre, during the warm up of a class I’m teaching at the gym, on a walk with Sadie or lounging around the house. A great go-to gift!
Favorites: lululemon Dance Studio Jacket, Reebok Yoga Hoodie, Nike Hyperwarm Hoodie or Pullover (<— Love!!), Athleta Striped Strength Hoodie, Splits59 Open Back Pullover (<— Great for barre workouts!)
- Athletic Vest
I think this year is the year of the vests. I am seeing them everywhere (maybe it’s just because I’m no longer living in Florida?) and I adore them! I bought the Columbia Mighty Lite vest (in black) on sale earlier this fall and wear it constantly. It’s warm but also very lightweight making it perfect for in-between the seasons.
Some more vests that have caught my eye: C9 Puffer Vest (only $30 – love the white one!), lululemon Rebel Runner Vest, Columbia Mix It Around Vest ($35!), Nike Primaloft Vest
- No-Slip Headbands
Headbands save me during my workouts since I am the queen of little flyaway hairs and I also have a huge cowlick that doesn’t really allow me to pull my hair straight back without it looking totally goofy. I think no-slip headbands like BIC Bands or Sparkly Soul headbands would make a fantastic stocking stuffer for the fitness enthusiast in your life!
- Water Bottle
This is a gift that might be a little hard because most fitness-lovers probably already have a water bottle they adore, but here are a few I personally love: Nalgene Narrow Mouth Water Bottle, Tervis Tumbler, Contigo Auto-Seal Water Bottle, Starbucks Cold Cup Tumbler
- No-Show Athletic Underwear
Giving the gift of no-show underwear is a little strange, so maybe save this one for someone quite close to you! Though many people don’t mind working out in thongs, there are some great no-show athletic briefs that have popped up on the market that have received great reviews for those looking for a little more coverage (and a lot less wedgies!). I love Fabletics briefs but have also heard great things about Under Armour no-show underwear.
- Gift Certificate to a Local Studio/Gym to Take a New/Favorite Class
There are a bunch of awesome boutique classes out there that many fitness lovers would absolutely love to try, but they can some with a pretty hefty price tag. A gift certificate to Orange Theory, SoulCycle, FlyWheel, Pure Barre, etc. is a great way to give the gift of a fun experience.
This magnetic running pocket quickly became a favorite of mine after I started using it following the Runner’s World Half Marathon Festival earlier this year. If there is a runner in your life who complains about carrying stuff with them on a run or hates wearing armbands to carry their iPod or phone, definitely look into this pouch! The magnet is incredibly strong so it doesn’t bounce around when you run and sits comfortably against you body without moving and chafing. Love it!
- Fun Leggings
The days of plain black workout leggings are over! Fun and funky leggings are popping up everywhere and there are so many different prints and patterns available that will flatter every body type. (I’ve personally found that the heathered look is best for concealing lumps and bumps! These “black space dye” Moving Comfort Urban Gym Tights are my favorite and got great reviews!) Personal favorites: Lorna Jane Isometric Tight (<— I wore these to Pure Barre two weeks ago and got a ton of compliments!), lululemon Wunder Under Pant (Yes, I drank the Kool Aid and I absolutely love those pants — especially these mesh tights!), Fabletics Gaviota Legging (pictured above)
- More Fitness Gift Ideas
Nothing above catch your eye? Here are a few more fitness-themed gift ideas!
- Cold weather running gear (Hats, gloves, etc.)
- Heart rate monitor (<— I have the Polar FT4 and love it. Very user-friendly!)
- Ear buds (I recommend Yurbuds)
- Gym bag (I have the Gaiam Everything Fits gym bag and think it’s fabulous.)
- Workout DVDs
- Compression socks
- Cooling towel (I have the EnduraCool towel and bought it for my mom as well. It really works!)
- New yoga mat
- Athlights safety lights for runners/bikers/walkers who work out in the dark
- Gu Chomps (or their favorite fuel of choice)
- Gift certificate for a massage for sore muscles

Great picks! I love those fabletics leggings!
Leah (goodnight cheese) says
Those leggings are great! I still use and love my Polar FT4, but the fitbit is a cool idea.
Vicki L. says
Okay, so I seriously just discovered how amazing Yurbuds are. I’ve been saying for a few years that I needed to get some sport earbuds, so I finally did and I’m amazed at the difference. Not only is the sound quality great, but I haven’t yet had to adjust them once during a workout. Usually I’ll have to adjust them slightly several times during a workout (particularly running), but not with these babies! Haha, I love them!
Julie says
aren’t they fabulous!?!? i love them!!
Michele @ PaleoRunningMomma says
Live in my Lululemon dance studio jacket and love it so much 🙂
Amanda says
I love the red vest! I also think a sports massage would make an awesome gift for runners :).
racheleliz says
I wonder about the no show underwear, just because any underwear other than thongs always shifts around and drives me insane.
Skinny Fitalicious says
I just bought those capris from Fabletics & cannot wait to try them! Early Christmas present to myself.
Sarah @ Sarah Sincerely says
I seem to be obsessed with vests and leggings this year! Love how vests keep you warm, but don’t hinder your movement like a jacket does. And I desperately want a FitBit, Jawbone UP, etc.
Sam says
I’m getting a FitBit for my birthday in a few weeks and I’m pretty excited about it 🙂
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
So many great picks here! I just bought myself the mesh Fabletics leggings yesterday (because I’m a sucker for those first-of-the-month emails!) and Yurbuds are my fave too!
Amanda Newsome says
ooh, I could add all of those legging suggestions to my wishlist!
Heather @Fit n Cookies says
I’ve been eyeing up that gym bag for months now! Love this list- I could add everything onto my own list!
Rachel @ Blonde with a Chanse says
I love the leggings and so would my sis 🙂
Ashley @ Sweet carolina belle says
Luluemon is my weakness. My ultimate gift would be a hoodie and a pair of under wunders.
Ashley @ Sweet carolina belle says
Wunder unders. 🙂
fitsickle says
Love this guide!! I’ve been eyeing those Fabletics leggings all day… I think I need them 🙂 Have a great night!
Brittany @ Delights and Delectables says
So cute!! Love these ideas! I’m trying to decide between the Fit Bit and the Polar Loop. Suggestions?
Julie says
the polar loop allows you to sync up a heart rate monitor and displays the steps! i’ve used both and think they’re both great though! i actually like the fact that the fitbit DOESN’T display steps so you’re not always checking it! (you can check your progress using an app that’s very user friendly.)
livitant says
Love these ideas– no show athletic underwear is a must!
Alison @ Daily Moves and Grooves says
I am on the same boat as you with that cow lick in my hair! Pulling it back into a ponytail is an art in and of itself.
This is a fabulous list of fitness gifts! I’ll definitely be looking into these!
Annette Perkins (@FitnessPerks) says
Awesome gift guide! I too love great leggings with fun prints & such.
I’m wanting some great sports bras and I can always make room for more headbands, tops, and jackets 🙂
Banscat says
Thanks for great list. I recently added the same gym bag to my collection and it quickly became my favorite. It is roomy but not too big. I don’t mind carrying it into a store if I have to run an errand before or after the gym as it isn’t bulky and doesn’t scream GYM BAG. 🙂
MamaRUNSforcupcakes (@suzy399) says
I love the dance studio jacket…i’ve been eyeing that color too!
Stacey M. says
I’m especially partial to the RooSport running pouch. I’ve been wanting to buy an armband for my iPhone for a while now, but I find it hard to justify buying a band now when I’ll only have to turn around and buy another one in a couple years when I update my phone again. That’s why this pouch would be absolutely perfect! Adding it to my Christmas list now!
Run Eat Play says
Great ideas! I’m always looking for new fitness finds! I love my activity tracker. I have the fitbit and it really keep me accountable!!
Lizzie S. says
I think it’s a problem that I want everything on this list!
Colleen says
love this list. asked for both the fabletics leggings and the gaiam gym bag this year! glad to hear you like the bag… i was scouring the internet for the perfect one.
Anna Ransdell says
Just a heads up that Moving Comfort is going to stop making clothing and will only do bras next year
Julie says
Nooo! Really!? I hadn’t heard this. Thanks for the info!
Ann says
Just ordered the Athlights for my boyfriend! Perfect stocking stuffer – he’s a runner and I worry about him out at night/in the dusk. And shipping was only $1.99! Score!
Rebeka says
It’s about $50 over the $150 limit in your guide, but have you looked at the Microsoft Band yet? I have one and it’s so great (heart rate monitor, step tracker, it tracks your workouts and sleep, you can get your texts on it, you can choose guided workouts from the app then sync them to the band to guide you when you’re ready to workout, etc.), I think you might really love it. I love mine! http://www.microsoft.com/Microsoft-Band/en-us
Brenna says
THANK YOU for the gym bag recommendation. I have been looking for that perfect bag for over six months and am so thrilled with your recommendation. I sometimes go the gym before work, but usually after, and I hate putting my sweaty, stinky flats (gross? maybe) in with my office clothes so the ventilated pocket will be perfection. Bought the bag!!
Julie says
yay!! hope you love it!!
Tricia Vaughn says
I ordered the Roo Sport today! I’m making the switch from a long time iphone user to a Note4 and while I looked at the Roo several times the selling point was that the Note4 will fit in it. I can’t wait to ditch my arm band on my runs when this baby comes in! 🙂
Lou says
What size did you get the vest in? I am wondering what will fit me!
Julie says
XS 🙂 I think they run a little big!
