Is it just me or are guys always the most challenging to shop for every year? I often stick to experience-based gifts for Ryan’s main present (tickets to a sporting event or show or a fun weekend trip somewhere close by), but I still like to have a few things for him to unwrap every year!
Below you will find a handful of gifts I think may appeal to husbands, dads, boyfriends, brothers and more! From the outdoorsy guy to the stylin’ man who loves to look good, I hope you find some gift-giving inspiration from the ideas I am sharing with you guys in this gift guide. Happy Holidays!
Quality Splurges $50+
My sister gave my brother-in-law the Classic St. Mawes watch and I think it is such a classy watch! I’ve seen Daniel Wellington watches popping up all over the place these days and love the simple elegance of the watch. They’re timeless and the price point is affordable for a quality watch. I also LOVE their women’s watches!
Favorites: Daniel Wellington Classic St. Mawes, Daniel Wellington Classic Bristol
Have you guys heard of this cup? My dad and my brother-in-law absolutely RAVE about their Yeti cups. Apparently it keeps cold beverages cold forever (yes, even in the raging Florida heat!) and hot beverages hot forever. With a five star rating by more than 1,500 Amazon reviewers, the Yeti cup is apparently doing something right! I think this cup would make a fabulous gift for coffee drinkers and outdoorsy guys alike.
I absolutely fell in love with the women’s version of this jacket during a trip to Park City. It is SO warm (I’m a believer in Columbia’s awesome TurboDown technology) and after raving about the jacket so much, Ryan bought the men’s version and started raving about it as well. Now my sister and brother-in-law also own TurboDown jackets and I think a TurboDown coat would make a great gift for a guy who needs a quality winter jacket. It’s incredibly lightweight yet somehow still very, very warm.
If there is a guy in your life who is a fitness lover and a numbers man, the Fitbit Surge may be the perfect gift! Ryan loves this watch and initially bought it because he got sick of wearing a heart rate monitor strap and this watch monitors your heart rate through your wrist so no strap is needed. He instantly started raving about the watch’s GPS capabilities and the fact that the watch can receive text messages. He’s a big fan!
File this under random things guys think are cool… Ryan and Ross are obsessed with this thing! Ryan bought it for Ross for Christmas last year for him to use for everything from camping to tailgating and they both think it’s just the coolest. I don’t get it, but apparently they aren’t alone because the chair gets great reviews for it’s portability, light weight, small packing size and comfort. If you know a guy who loves camping or tailgating, this chair might be a hit!
Budget Finds Under $50
I’m not sure what it is about this soap, but Ryan loves it. He’s really not into hair or facial products and spends all of 2.5 seconds getting ready for the day, so this body scrub soap is just about as fancy as it gets for my low-maintenance husband. Since the soap isn’t cheap, it’s something I save for him for the holidays. Yes, I have used it when it’s been in our shower and I love it, too! The oatmeal and bran in the soap do a wonderful job of exfoliating the skin.
When I asked Ryan if this hot chocolate might be a little weird to include in a gift guide for guys, he said, “Um why? Hot chocolate is AWESOME.” Fair enough! Even though most hot cocoa is tasty, Williams-Sonoma specialty hot chocolate is unreal. It’s made of real chocolate shavings that you melt into creamy milk and I cannot say enough wonderful things about it. If there’s a man in your life with a serious sweet tooth, pick up this stuff immediately! We love the Peppermint Bark flavor most, but the salted caramel and original flavors are delicious, too. Since this hot chocolate is a special treat, we typically make it when we have a “date night in” planned where we’ll curl up on the couch with a mug of this hot chocolate and watch a holiday movie together. It’s so good!
A snazzy pair of work socks or athletic socks make a great stocking stuffer, especially since they’re not something most guys seem to regularly buy for themselves.
Favorites: Happy Socks, Ben Sherman (<—I see both brands for sale a lot on RueLaLa and Zulily)… Or if you’d rather go the athletic socks route, Ryan’s favorites are Bombas
More Ideas
- TOMS Slippers (I gave these to Ryan and my brother-in-law for Christmas last year and they were a hit!)
- Sirius XM Subscription (Great for the music lover or the person with a long commute!)
- GoPro (Is it just me, or does it seem like all guys want one of these?)
- Tickets to a Concert, Sporting Event, etc.
- Smartphone Gloves (Good for guys who like to text on the go in the winter!)
- Rinse Kit (For the outdoorsy guy in your life who loves scuba diving, surfing or camping… Or any activity that warrants access to fresh water or a high-pressure shower afterward without immediate access to a shower or hose. It won the Outside Gear of the Show award at Outdoor Retailer this year.)
- Plan a Fun Weekend Away
- Crumpler Haven Camera Bag (My brother-in-law loves this bag! If you have a guy in your life who is into photography, Ross highly recommends lightweight bag and says it easily holds his camera and two somewhat-large lenses.)
- Trunk Club (Kind of like Stitch Fix for men!)

Loving this gift guide Julie!
Guys can be so tough to buy for, so it’s always nice to have some inspiration when it comes to shopping for them 🙂 I’m loving that Yeti cup, I think I might ask Santa for that myself!! heh.

Wow! Thank you so much!!
I actually just put up a holiday gift guide on my blog so if anyone gets the chance it would be great if you could check it out: https://sweetpotatoesrunner.wordpress.com
Heather @ Polyglot Jot says
Love this! I’d also add a subscription to a beer of the month club to this. Those are pricey but you can do 4,6, or 12 month options!
I’ll have to get some of that soap for my husband! Thanks for sharing!

These are such great ideas! Last year, I got my brother in law a beer a month subscription and he loved it. Plus, sometimes he didn’t like a beer so I got to try some as well!

I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Yeti cup. Yeti is actually a high-quality brand of ice chests that do the same! I’ve been eyeing that jacket wondering if that would really keep me warm. Glad to hear it has good reviews! Great gift ideas!
Christine says
Thank you for the suggestions! Just ordered the soap for my husbands stocking!

Note to anyone looking for YETIs: do NOT buy off amazon! They are overpriced RIDICULOUSLY. Go to cabelas, academy sports, bass pro shops, dick’s, etc. I recently got one from academy sports.
Anna says
I second the GoPro idea! It’s a great gift. My husband got one for xmas last year and loves using it. Most of the videos, though, feature our goofy 2 year old golden Indian dog (native american indian dog x golden retriever), Otto.
Darby says
Oh boy did I ever need gift suggestions! I find it sooo difficult to shop for my boyfriend because he’s not into clothes (happy getting them from Kohl’s) and experience based trips aren’t financial feasible right now. Thank you so much for this post!!! Now I can actually get him a nice present, p.s. he would 100% LOVE those socks and the salted caramel and peppermint hot chocolate, he isn’t a coffee drinker.

Great list, I just tweeted it, I especially love the Yeti cup. We’ve compiled Christmas Guide to Men’s Jewelry and I’d love to get your (and your readers) feedback. I love all of these ideas. It’s so funny you posted that soap. There is nothing my boyfriend loves more than Dr. Bronner’s pure castile soap in peppermint, but this soap sounds like a luxurious change.

That’s funny what Ryan said about hot chocolate. My husband doesn’t drink coffee, but loves hot chocolate. Just last night he got his special mug from the Adirondacks & made himself a cup while sitting by the fire!
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
Ryan doesn’t like coffee either! 🙂

Love this! My Gift Guide for Guys on Monday focused on Wills Leather bags, Man Crates, and fitness finds (ski gloves, wireless headphones, etc). That Daniel Wellington watch is the perfect add to the wardrobe!
By the way, my post this morning was born from your Little Indulgences = Big Happiness post a while back. (Obviously, with all credit given to you.) I loved taking a second to step back and reflect. 🙂
Kim from MN says
Even *I* am totally excited about that portable rinse kit. And this is despite the fact that I don’t camp or ever have need of a portable shower. But still, I somehow find this thing really cool.
I enjoy seeing all the interesting stuff you find, thanks for the list! Also, I think I want to try that soap. Happy Wednesday!
Julia @ Lord Still Loves Me says
My brother is about to begin his first teaching job, and he did not have a nice watch. I scooped up one for him that I adore, but I wasn’t sure if he’d like it. This gave me hope he will! Thank you Julie! 🙂
Torry @ A World Without Wheat says
I have that Yeti cup and it is more then amazing – I made a HUGE cup of coffee today left it in my car for around and hour and a half and when I came back it was still hot. I drink cold in the afternoon and leave the ice in overnight and when I wake up the next morning…yep, the ice is still in there!
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West says
I get my husband a watch or sneakers for nearly every Christmas, and those items never fail. Oh and that chair is awesome! Thanks for the suggestion — he would LOVE it!

Thank you for these ideas, I’ve been having so much trouble coming up with gifts for my boyfriend and dad this year!
Shel@PeachyPalate says
Now I really want a Yeti cup!!!

Great guys gift ideas, Julie! I always try to be creative when it comes to a gift for my husband. I know he wants the fitbit so maybe if he is good he will get it 😉

I never thought I’d actually say this, but I’d LOVE to get some nice socks for Christmas!
