Happy holidays!!!
Foodie Finds
This hot chocolate is a favorite in our house! It is made with chocolate shavings, not cocoa powder, which makes it unbelievably creamy and delicious. Ryan and I splurge and buy a tin every year and love sipping on a hot mug of the peppermint hot cocoa while we watch Christmas movies on television throughout the holiday season. If there’s a big-time hot cocoa lover in your life, I can assure you that they will love this hot chocolate! If they’re not into peppermint, Williams-Sonoma makes a regular hot cocoa flavor that is fantastic as well.
- Lunch Bag
How cute is this black and white Lauren Conrad for Blue Avocado xo(eco) nylon lunch bag? If you know someone who brings a lunch to work nearly every day, a fun and functional lunch bag might make a good gift! More cute options: Lauren Conrad Blue Avocado xo(eco) sage bird lunch bag and the ORE Originals Good Lunch Sack. (<— I love the blissful blue color!)
After discovering this service last week, I think it is the coolest thing! Blue Apron is a meal delivery service that sends you all of the ingredients you need to prepare a fresh and delicious meal at home. It includes detailed instructions (with pictures), pre-measured ingredients and costs $9.99 per person per meal. The company places an emphasis on sustainability and premium seasonal ingredients from artisanal purveyors.
I love sitting down to a hot mug of coffee at breakfast. When I want to make my morning coffee extra special, I take the time to froth some milk to pour into my freshly brewed mug. It makes me feel oh so fancy! I have the Aerolatte frother but the IKEA frother is cheaper and has decent reviews on Amazon.
I bring my lunch to work a lot and since I try to pack relatively healthy meals, salads are a staple. I cannot stand soggy salad, so Tupperware made specifically for transporting salads is a personal favorite. I love all of the separate compartments and the way you can easily store salad dressing in a leak-proof compartment.
- Immersion Blender
I use my Cuisinart immersion blender regularly because it helps me make a fantastic batch of protein pancakes! Another bonus? Clean up is a breeze!
- Gift Card to an Upscale Local Restaurant for Dinner or a Local Winery for a Wine Tasting
This is a gift Ryan and I love to give! We know most couples enjoy going on fancy dates, but it isn’t fun to spend a ton of money, so we enjoy giving couples we love gift cards to an upscale local restaurant for a romantic date night out. We think it’s a great way to give loved ones a fun experience rather than something they may or may not use. Just be sure to do your research and pick a restaurant that has received rave reviews and serves the kind of cuisine you know the couple will enjoy.
- Cute Mug or Teacup
You can never have too many mugs! The above mug is the Gloriosa Mug from Anthropologie (they have it in two additional colors). I also adore their Homegrown Monogram Mug and the standard Monogram Mug that Ryan and I received as a wedding gift!
- Cookbook
I adore The Pioneer Woman’s cookbooks. They’re absolutely stunning and her recipes are always crowd pleasers. Her step-by-step instructions make every recipe easy to follow and her photographs are simply beautiful. She recently released a new holiday cookbook, The Pioneer Woman Cooks: A Year of Holidays, and I’m hoping to pick up a copy soon!
More cookbook favorites: Martha Stewart Cookies and Williams-Sonoma Eat Well.
In October 2012 I had the honor of touring the incredible Harry & David orchards in Medford, Oregon with a handful of other bloggers. It was a truly unforgettable trip and I fell in love with the company, their delicious food and beautiful Oregon! All of the items you find in a Harry & David gift basket are high-quality though I am a bit partial to their phenomenal fruit. Harry & David is perhaps most famous for their pears which taste like heaven.
If your mouth is watering, check out the giveaway below for your chance to win a box of of their fabulous pears!
One PBF reader will win a basket of Harry & David Organic Royal Riviera Pears!
To enter this giveaway, simply comment below, telling me who you’d send the pears to if you won (and it’s okay to say yourself). I will randomly select a winner on Thursday.
Good luck!
