At the end of 2014, I continued a mini series I began a few years ago and featured the top posts of the year on PBF. Beginning in January, I decided to prolong the series for the duration of 2015 and highlight the top 15 posts from each month on the blog at the end of every month.
- Top 15 of 2015: January
- Top 15 of 2015: February
- Top 15 of 2015: March
- Top 15 of 2015: April
- Top 15 of 2015: May
- Top 15 of 2015: June
- Top 15 of 2015: July
- Top 15 of 2015: August
- Top 15 of 2015: September
These are not necessarily the top new posts I publish each month, as throwback posts from several years ago seem to pop up and claim top spots each month which I always find interesting!
Here are your most popular PBF posts (according to pageviews) from the month of October, divided into three categories: Recipes, Fitness and Extras. (Note: This series does not include any giveaways, previous Top 15 posts or Things I’m Loving Friday posts.)
RECIPES
This breakfast bowl is a morning meal I’ve been eating several times a week and I can’t get enough! It can easily be prepped ahead of time and thrown together in a flash on a weekday morning for a nutritious and hearty morning meal. It’s colorful, flavorful and full of satisfying protein, vibrant produce and healthy fats.
Last month, I reached out to some of my favorite bloggers and best blogging friends to ask them about the most popular recipes they’ve ever shared on their blogs and compiled them all into one post. The recipes they shared with me range from delectable desserts and healthy snacks to hearty dinners and delicious treats. If you’re looking for a new recipe to try, definitely check out this post!
This buffalo meatloaf is packed with vegetables and flavor, making it the perfect easy dinner. Prep everything in one bowl and place it in the oven for 45 minutes for a simple, flavorful meal or make it ahead of time on Sunday and reheat later in the week for a healthy and delicious midweek dinner!
I’m so glad this post was a top one this month because these egg muffins are so darn versatile and EASY to make! You can customize the ingredients to make them suit your personal preferences and they’re a delicious grab-and-go breakfast option that’s also packed with protein and veggies. Woop!
I love that this recipe from 2011 constantly appears in my top blog posts month after month. It’s my favorite protein pancake recipe and one my family makes regularly, too! It’s sweet, filling and truly tastes like banana bread.
FITNESS
Inspired by a challenging Burn Boot Camp workout, this leg workout will light your quads and hamstrings on fire. And if you complete the “finisher” at the end, it’s extra killer!
This playlist is my go-to workout music playlist on days when I am just not feelin’ it at the gym and cannot seem to get myself into the zone. Something about the songs on this playlist can usually turn things around and get me in the mood for a good sweat session!
Don’t be fooled by the fact that this workout is only 20 minutes long… It’s HARD. By mixing upper body exercises with challenging plyometric bursts, your heart rate will elevate and you’ll be a sweaty mess at the end of this one!
When you are feeling uninspired by your current workout music, check out Pandora for some awesome workout music inspiration! This blog posts highlights my favorite upbeat and energizing Pandora workout music stations.
Looking to sneak in some cardio while also training your core? This circuit includes four stations that you’ll complete for five minutes each and keeps things moving!
EXTRAS
Oh this post was truly ridiculous! But apparently Sadie still has a special place in your hearts because it was the TOP post I shared last month! We love our crazy dog so much and this post perfectly personifies her personality.
I love that this post about a small thing you can do to improve your personal happiness resonated with a bunch of you guys. And the comments on this one were the best part!
- Mountain Vacation Recaps
All of the recaps from our family trip to the mountains were popular last month which made me so happy! I LOVE writing about travel and family, so these were a blast to write. Here are all three in one spot: Day One & Two, Hiking Carver’s Gap and Fishin’ for Trout, Hiking, Moses Cone Manor + Woolly Worm Festival
I’m guessing this post from last April gained a little traction this month because another GOTR season is underway! If you are coaching this season (awesome!!), this post might be of interest, as it includes little things my co-coaches and I did to try to make our team’s practice 5K a fun one.
Why this throwback post from 2011 became popular this month, I have no idea, but it’s another Sadie-centric post that makes me smile. The Hand Game is still her favorite! (Also, it makes my heart hurt a little to see her face before it was all white! My lil’ girl is growing up…)

I absolutely loved the blogger recipe roundup and your workout playlist is still open in my tabs! 😀 I always crave new workout music and you seem to have some pretty good jams 😉

Just wanted to say thanks for the egg muffin recipe – I’ve made it for my boyfriend countless times as a portable breakfast since you first posted it!
He used to either have nothing or junk food in the morning, but seriously loves these egg muffins.
It’s so easy to throw a batch together every Sunday to have for the week.
He especially likes them with bacon, cheese, grated carrot, chopped mushrooms, kale and rosemary.
Julie says
I’m so glad to hear it!!! Egg muffins and frittatas are a go-to breakfast in our house these days! Love yummy breakfasts you can prep ahead of time!
Laura ~ RYG says
I was just going to say that I love the egg muffins too! Those are the best. And I like them with bacon and rosemary too (just not the carrots =)
Anyhow, I love those energizing bananas!! They just made my day. Oh my goodness, sometimes it’s the little things in life =)

Your burn bootcamp classes sound just up my ally. If I am going to take an hour away from my little girl, it better get me sweating. Also, I remember your “New Level of Ridiculous” post and it made me laugh again. I think parenthood (of both the human and canine form) prohibits you from being embarrassed about anything. Do what you gotta do girl!
Melanie says
I love that two of these top posts were all about Sadie! I still laugh out loud when I see the pic of her sitting in the stroller 😀
I’ve made those banana bread protein pancakes several times… so delicious!
Linz @ Itz Linz says
haha that’s funny – it always cracks me up to see what search terms people use to get to my blog
Ali @ Peaches and Football says
I remember those banana bread pancakes looking delicious when you posted them but I’ve yet to try them. Thanks for the reminder. 🙂
It’s always funny which posts end up being popular. I’m always surprised. It goes to show we bloggers learn a lot from our readers too!

I just signed up to run my first GOTR 5K this December as a Sparkle Runner. So excited!
Anna says
Love the bananas! I think I might do that with my husband’s lunch one of these days as a surprise 🙂
Jessica @ Semi-Sweet Tooth says
Love that a lot of recent posts were up top last month. Except for your Banana Pancakes, which I’ll have to try, stat! This morning’s post over on Semi-Sweet Tooth was all about quick, easy breakfasts, as well. They help our mornings run so much more smoothly out here in Denver, too!
My favorite post from the list was your little indulgences. It warmed my heart and created a daily sense of gratitude that is easy to apply to all of our lives to make everything just a little bit brighter.
Thanks for sharing!
Catlin says
I love your post of little indulgences = Big Happiness 🙂 such a wonderful reminder
Sheena @ Paws and Pavement says
That Buffalo Chicken Meatloaf sounds really good! I love PaleOMG Buffalo Chicken Meatza and it reminded me of that when I saw yours. My two labs are both getting so white in the face and slowing down. I feel the same when I see puppy pictures of them.
Jennifer says
I LOVE your buffalo chicken meatloaf recipe, I’ve made it twice since you posted it! I bake it on sunday and slice it up for lunches and dinner for the week, it also seems to freeze really well. I also love Sadie in the stroller, she is the cutest!

This makes me so happy!!! Thanks for reporting back! 🙂
