I had grand plans to make an elaborate dinner tonight, but then this arrived in the mail:
It happened. I fell in love with Glee. I’m an official Gleek.
The first season of Glee is available to stream from Netflix whenever you want so you don’t have to wait on DVDs to be sent to your home. When I discovered this, I watched the entire first season of the show in a week… the same week Ryan was away on his manly hiking trip.
Mr. Schuster kept me company.
Ever since I finished watching the first season, I’ve been anxiously awaiting the DVDs from the second in the mail since you cannot stream the episodes from the second season.
When the mailman showed up at 5:15 p.m. (he comes ridiculously late), I just about jumped for joy and abandoned any elaborate dinner plans in favor of making an easy dinner and curling up on the couch with Ryan to watch an episode. (Yes, Ryan is loving Glee. And the Biebs. I love him.)
Our easy dinner included Carba Nada pasta (12 grams of protein in one serving, baby!), topped with marinara sauce, parmesan cheese, turkey sausage and hidden roasted broccoli and cauliflower.
I say the veggies were “hidden” because the whole bottom of the pasta bowl was packed with the cruciferous veggies!
See? Peek-a-boo veggies! I’m so sneaky.
Hoping to sneak another episode of Glee in tonight before hittin’ the hay.
Sleep well, friends!
Bee Goes Bananas says
I haven’t had the chance to really get into Glee yet. To be honest, I’m afraid to start because it’ll probably end up consuming what little free time I have! Your dinner looks delicious by the way!
What brand of sausages do you use? We haven’t found many turkey brands and the beef ones upset my stomach.
peanutbutterfingers says
i can’t remember the brand. :/ we opended the package on monday, so i had them in tupperware and can’t remember the name! they were only okay though – not necessarily ones i’d buy again!
Roz Pearcy @ My ViSalus Journey says
Oh I’ve tried to get into Glee but I’m not there yet lol! On the other hand SYTYCD is another story!!
Dinner looks way yum, I love how you incorporate SO many veggies in your diet, you are helping me do the same :).
Amelia (Eating Made Easy) says
I’m all about hiding veggies in pasta — I especially like to make ribbons of zucchini and carrot so they seem like more “noodles” — yum!
Laura @ prettylittlewords says
That is totally my go-to easy dinner 🙂
kristy @ kristyruns says
Ahhh! I just got into Glee via Netflix, too! We don’t have a tv, so we have to wait until shows come online, and it’s sooo good!

courtney @ the granola chronicles says
When my husband was in India a few weeks ago, I watched the first season (through Instant Netlix via our Wii) in one weekend. Yes. Three days. Don’t judge me! 🙂
peanutbutterfingers says
No judgment. They’re in school, so it’s obviously educational.
Courtney @ girl in the pink says
Streaming season 1 of Glee through Netflix got me through countless miles on the treadmill this winter! It’s like the perfect show to work out too!!
Paige - Everyday Belle says
ryan appreciates jb, glee, AND the bachelorette?! you lucky, lucky girl 😀
Allison @ Happy Tales says
no kidding, i wish my boo was into all of that!
peanutbutterfingers says
I think it’s more that he tolerates The Bachelorette, thinks Glee is amusing… and loves the Biebs. 🙂
Julia says
I am so behind on Glee. I haven’t seen any of the second season.
I totally get really into shows and need to watch them all in order, so I go through TV phases. Right now I’m obsessed with Sex and the City. I love it.
Julia says
Ohmygosh I take my words back (so lame I’m replying to myself haha) I watched the Rocky Horror Picture Show episode and it’s amazing! Toucha Toucha Touch Me was my shower song for months.

Elizabeth says
Dont you love being married to a hubs who doesn’t care what you prepare for dinner? . Mine is easy to please as well-whatever I’m in the mood for is what we have! Shortly after becoming man and wife, I had to convert him—-to be a veggie lover like me—e
Lindsay@ In Sweetness and In Health says
LOVE Glee! I’m so happy you have become a Gleek :). Isn’t it amazing? Sometimes I get the chills when some of the songs are sung because their voices are so good!
Julie H. of Spinach and Sprinkles says
I may have to watch the live streaming now…. uh-oh!
Megan says
I was a late Gleek bloomer too – and now I can’t get enough of it! I’ve even rewatched Season 1 multiple times. Now to get the music on my iPod for runs… 😉

I need to give Glee another shot…I tried watching it once but I just couldn’t get into it at all! That being said, I’m sure there must be reason behind all the hype!
Cait's Plate says
LOVE Glee. I own the first season on DVD and I really need to own the second. I already can’t wait for the new season to start! My boyfriend makes fun of me for singing along to all the songs. Haha.
PS – I saw an MK&A thing today for their new t-shirt line launch and totally thought of you and got “I am the cute one” stuck in my head! Haha
Olivia Ehmann says
That looks like my ideal dinner- pasta and veggies!!

Kristine @ Running On Hungry says
Hope you’re not cringing too hard at WIll’s solos! I can only imagine Ryan’s reactions! Have you ventured into the world of the Glee soundtrack? I listen to Holly Holiday’s “Forget You” more than I listen to the original!
Lindsey @ Happy or Hungry says
Hahaha, my boyfriend is a Gleek too 🙂
And he LOVED the Bieber episode, and LOVED Artie’s version of Somebody To Love.
He would be so embarrassed if I told anyone that, but…ehhh well.
Amanda says

Gen says
I’ve actually never seen Glee…..maybe its time to start watching????
Hillary says
I’m so glad you just threw out the word “cruciferous.” The English teacher in me is giggling.
Heather says
like.
Lisa @ Read.Breathe.Relax. says
YES!! Glee is so amazing! How did we both not realize this before? I’m on the Rocky Horror episode now in the second season…and it’s kinda weird. But my love will live on…
😀
Heather says
GIRLFRIEND! Just WAIT until you get to the alcohol episode. It’s my FAAAAAAAAAAAAVORITE. Think of me when you realize that Puck’s monologue about drunk girls is the most perfect description you’ve ever heard. Seriously, the writers on that show = brilliant!
my little sister just started watching Glee last month, too. She’s on season two as well, and a few days ago, at about 1:00 in the morning, we had an hour long conversation about Glee. We were ANALYZING it, and discussing it as art. It was ridiculous.
Seriously. Alcohol episode. BEST EVER.
Heather says
also – have you downloaded Glee songs for your workout playlists yet? If not: GET ON IT.
Brittany says
Haha, my boyfriend enjoys glee as well. He makes friends with other shameless boys who will admit to watching it. Man bonding confuses me.
Amber says
I just finished watching the first season of Glee on Netflix for Wii like 2 days ago. I, too, am now a Gleek. I had seen some episodes of season 2 when they came on TV and liked it, but now I’m mildly obsessed and I think I may get Season 2 on Netflix, as well. Unfortunately, my fiance isn’t as good of a sport as Ryan and refuses to watch Glee with me–he finds the entire premise of the show completely ridiculous. (He’s very anti-musicals or anything that involves people breaking out into song and dance.)
