What better way to start the day than with a little peanut butter?
Using two packets of instant oatmeal from the hotel breakfast buffet, I prepared a bowl of hot oats topped with a scoop of peanut butter.
If only I had a couple of chocolate chips on hand, this breakfast would’ve tasted like a healthier version of peanut butter chocolate chip cookie dough. I love the consistency and flavor a big scoop of peanut butter adds to an otherwise bland bowl of oatmeal.
Along with my peanut butter oats, I also enjoyed the top of a blueberry muffin (the tops are the best) and a hard boiled egg minus the nasty, dry yolk.
One of the things I’ve been loving from the hotel breakfast buffet is a new flavor of tea.
I find plain green tea very bland, but the hotel has packets of Bigelow pomegranate green tea that are fantastic! The flavor reminds me a bit of Starbucks’ passion tea.
Speaking of pomegranates, in case you’re a newer blog reader, I thought you might enjoy some flashback links to my first blog-related trip to California to tour POM Wonderful’s orchards and factory. It was a blast and such a neat experience.

And now for some Pinterest talk!
Pinning on Pinterest
When Ryan and I moved out of our shanty apartment in Orlando, we promised each other that we would try to find a place we love to rent in Ocala and would do our best to decorate it and make it truly feel like a home rather than a temporary place to live.
I’ve been browsing through magazines and catalogs looking for decorating inspiration ever since.
Last weekend, I discovered Pinterest, an amazing website that allows you to “pin” pictures from various websites to your own “boards” and I felt like I hit the decorating inspiration jackpot!
Rather than email yourself link after link to pictures of furniture or design photos, you can store all of these pictures in one place on Pinterest by “pinning” them.
Warning: Pinterest is highly addicting.
Aside from home décor inspiration, you can find amazing pictures of anything from organization and craft ideas to fitness quotes, inspirational sayings, adorable animal photos and wedding ideas! You may then sort these photos into different “boards” so they’re categorized and share them with others on Pinterest that follow you. You can also scan boards of people you follow which I did for a million hours on Friday night.
You may find me on Pinterest here.
After eating delicious frozen custard last Friday night, Ryan and I were super cool and spent the evening curled up on the couch at his mom’s house, pinning away!
I pinned picture after picture of decorating ideas for our new house.
Now I just need a bazillion dollars to go out and buy all new furniture and I’ll be set!
Question of the Morning
- What room in a house do you think would be the most fun to decorate?
I am really looking forward transforming our future living room into a comfortable, beautiful and warm place in our new home.
I liked decorating our living rooms and bathrooms. (Odd I guess!) WE just did our basement over and I’m pumped to decorate it!
The bathroom! I love cute bathrooms with great storage. It’s such a fun weekend project to decorate the bathroom. I think runner up would have to be the bedroom.
Oh my gosh I loooove pinterest!!! So addicting!
The most fun room would be the bedroom – making it your own little sanctuary!
Hello! I could have sworn I’ve visited this site before but after browsing through some of the posts I realized it’s new to me. Anyways, I’m certainly happy I discovered it and I’ll be bookmarking it and checking back frequently!
I said I wouldn’t get on pinterest because I didn’t need another time suck… but alas, I spend some time each day now pinning away!
It is addicting! 🙂
Would it be weird if I said that I love hotel breakfasts? OK, I wouldn’t say love but I really like them, especially the ones that have peanut butter! 😛
Pinterest is cool. I signed up a few weeks ago. I don’t think I’m nearly as obsessed as some other people though. I’d rather have a real life pinboard.
I love Pinterest! It’s so much fun to make different boards and to get inspiration from other people’s pins!
I love Pinterest!
I love decorating my living room the most.
Pinterest is sweeping the blog world! I think my bedroom would be the most fun to decorate, definitely!
I recently joined Pinterest but I haven’t made time to really look at it.
We are in the process of redoing our bedroom and our living room — there is so much that I want to change but our budget isn’t as large as I wish it was 🙁
I thought I was going to be the odd one who said I liked to decorate bathrooms, but I guess I’m not alone! I love picking out shower curtains, cute storage containers for cotton balls and things, and rugs. I’m moving in a month and I can’t wait!
My bedroom & bathroom both need some decorating help .. I joined Pinterest last week but haven’t really had a chance to play around with it too much. Although after reading this post I just went & added a couple things & can already feel an addiction being created. It’s definitely going to be a helpful way to organize things that I always forget about when they are just bookmarks.
The kitchen would easily be the most fun room. As the heart of the home, I would want it to be a place where people spent time as well as an inspirational place to create baking magic!
Kitchens are the best!
I had pb oats this Morning too. 🙂 and I can’t stand hard boiled egg yolks.
The Kitchen of course!
So I grab my breakfast of cream of wheat with a spoonful of peanut butter and sprinkle of cinnamon, hop on your blog, and find that we were breakfast twins today. 🙂
Best part to decorate: living room. It’s where I hang the most!
Oh nevermind….it’s too early. I found a way to do it!! Sorry!
I went to the Pininterest site and it said you can sign up by “invite only”. Can I be invited to the pininterest party please?!
If I lose my job or fail out of grad school, it will be because of Pinterest. And I think I might have told you before, but a wedding pic of you and Ryan has been making the rounds on there, too!
that was how i first learned about it! 🙂
Haha! How funny! I had no idea.
I apologize in advance for putting an end to your productivity ; )
My beau’s actually getting ready to move out for grad school which, while sad, is actually VERY exciting for the interior decorator inside of me (interior… inside me… there’s a joke there I must be missing).
ANYWAY, this is my first time having total control over how to decorate! It’s simultaneously super exciting and absolutely terrifying. The perfect combo, right?
I LOVE decorating all rooms in my house. Kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms. It’s just so much fun – if only I had endless money to do it with!
omg you need to check out Olioboard…you will looove it! (olioboard.com). You can put together rooms and choose furniture and decor based on stuff you can find pictures of online. Its kind of like Polywore except with home decor. I used it when I was trying to figure out how to decorate my apartment. Its very addicting! =p
oh can’t wait to try it out!
Pinterest is seriously my favorite thing ever. I discovered it in May and have been pinning my little heart out. I’ll have to follow you! 🙂
Oh wow I seriously need this! I have so many interior inspiration pictures saved! Living room is definitely my favourite too 🙂
I am majorly addicted to Pinterest!!
I like decorating every room…is that going a little far?
Thanks for the links to the POM posts! I wasn’t yet following your blog back then, so it was really cool to go back and see those. What a neat experience. 🙂
I think the best rooms to decorate are the living room and the bedroom. 🙂
I LOVE pinterest & it is VERY addictive! Just like PB 😉 The kitchen is my favorite followed by wall hangings!
I need to get a Pinterest account – looks like fun! And I think the bedroom is my favorite room to decorate – so many options and it’s very personal. I’m sure y’alls new home will be beautiful!
I say the kitchen because I love decorating with eclectic dishes that I can use whenever cooking as well. Plus the kitchen is usually the heart of the house- so why not make it extremely gorgeous? 🙂
I’d say either living room or bedroom since that’s where I spend most of my time.
I’ll definitely have to check that website out; I’ve heard a lot of people mention it lately.
I heart Pinterest too (as I’m sure you’ve noticed from my recent pins!!) I love decorating my room and changing things up from time to time, but I would really like to transform my basement into something more exciting than it is now.
i LOVE your pins. you’re one of my favorite “pinners.” 🙂
I’ve been following you on pinterest since last weekend! I think before you even actually started pinning things…whoops :). I swear I’m not a stalker!
it took me a while to get the hang of it! i signed up a couple of weeks ago but didn’t really play around until this weekend. it’s awesome!
I need to get into pinetrest I always have so many emails from myself of things I love!
The food pictures on Pintrest are amazing. i love it, it is crazy how much time passes on that site!
Such a great idea!!
Cool site! I love decorating bedrooms…bedding shopping is an obsession of mine! I want one with a sitting space, too 🙂
I discovered Pinterest through your tweets when Twitter was posting everything you pinned haha
I’m a Pinterest ADDICT!
I’ve been meaning to join Pinterest for days! I have to do it ASAP.
Yay! I love Pinterest! It really is addicting..
Love pb oats!! 😀
Pintrest sounds really cool!!!!!!
Julie–try this::
1/3 cup old fashioned oats
1/3 cup milk
2 heaping T. PB2
Sprinkle of stevia
Sprinkle of salt
Chia seeds
The next morning add more pb, milk and frozen bananas. Delicious!
I forgot to mention–these are obviously overnight oats:)
I have yet to jump on Pinterest…I’m afraid that it will suck me into the computer even more so than I already am! 😉
It’s perfect time to make some plans for the longer term and it is time to be happy. I’ve read this put up and if I may I want to counsel you some fascinating things or suggestions. Maybe you can write subsequent articles regarding this article. I want to read even more things approximately it!
PB oats are the best…oats are a vehicle for delicious toppings!
Did you know that the picture of you behind the door on your wedding day is on pinterest?? I’ve seen it a lot browsing through pinterest!
that was actually how i first learned about pinterest – from people telling me that picture was on there. very neat!
We’re in the same boat! I move on Saturday to my first apartment where I’m living alone…therefore I get to decorate it HOWEVER I WANT!!! But I’m a broke college student SO I stick to the DIY section of Pinterest.
why dont you guys just buy a house? rates are low, prices are low etc. otherwise you will spend all this time “pinning” stuff on how you want to decorate only to do it again when you move to your house in the future.
we’re not ready to buy a place b/c literally just moved to ocala and want to be sure ryan loves his job and we love the area before we fully commit to buying a home.
Thanks to your POM posts, I tried the Chobani Pomegranet and LOVED it!!! My FAVORITE of the greek yogurts. . . that and mango which I believe you also inspired me to try at some point. . .
My current favorite room to decorate is my daughter’s. She’s going to be 12 at the end of the month and wants her room re-done for her b-day! As a surprise she’s getting an uptown/indian inspired room! I’m super excited!!
Other than that, my living room!!
And I can’t wait to try pinning stuff!! Thanks for sharing!
Outdoor living spaces are the most fun to decorate/landscape. It’s where I spend most of my time.
