After lunch today, I ended up taking my laptop to Starbucks to get some work done. I needed to get out of the house because I was having a hard time getting in the zone today and figured a change in scenery would serve me well.
With a Frappuccino in hand, I was much more productive!
And did you notice my new name? Apparently I’m “Sue” today.
I swear I said “Julie,” but this is the same Starbucks that spelled my name “Jewlie,” so I guess getting assigned a totally new name isn’t too far off base. Sue is also my mom’s name, so it made me smile!
Ryan even stopped by Starbucks around 1:30 on his lunch break to say hi, grab a drink and chat for a bit before heading back to work.
Christmas Shopping
Since I was still on his side of town when he got off work for the day, we decided to meet up and knock out some Christmas shopping.
We were quite successful and found some gifts for my mom, sister and mother-in-law.
While shopping we also picked up a poop bag purse for Sadie!
Ever since we moved to Ocala from Orlando, we’ve really missed having free poop bag stations all over the city (Orlando was incredibly dog friendly) and figured having a little poop bag purse permanently affixed to Sadie’s leash would solve the problem of forgetting to grab a bag on the way out the door.
Plus, it’s awfully stylish, don’t you think?
During our shopping adventure, Ryan tried to convince me to buy gingerbread cookies in a tube, claiming it was the “coolest idea ever,” until I pointed out that it was a bottle of lotion and not cookie dough.
(In his defense, it was on a bottom shelf where the “hand & body cream” text wasn’t easily seen.) I then had one bummed out husband on my hands. If any of you are looking for business ideas, cookie dough-in-a-tube apparently is a winner.
Dinner
Once we arrived home from shopping, it was dinnertime. We were both quite hungry and a quick meal was in order.
Ravioli with zucchini, spinach and mushrooms came together fast.
Gotta love pasta poofs!
I swear the veggies are under there somewhere.
Time to wrap some Christmas presents!
P.S. Those are my J.Crew mistletoe pajamas that I got on Christmas Eve last year. (It’s a tradition in my family to get new pajamas on Christmas Eve… one I hope to continue one day!) And yes, I most definitely wear them year-round.
I love Sadie’s new poop bag purse. 🙂
Sadie’s new poop bag purse is quite stylish! And those raviolis look delicious! I should not read your blog hungry!
It totally looks like your cup says “Jue”, which I would think is maybe closer?
ha! that would be closer! but she pronounced it “sue.” loving my new name. 🙂
I meant “Jul” LoL
Fun for the PJ’s! We have a tradition too. My mom, sister, sister-in-law and I all have matching Pj pants for Christmas morning. I love that I now have a collection of snowflake and reindeer pj pants from previous years!
Have you ever tried the peppermint white chocolate frap? That’s on my list to try for Starbucks!
We have the same tradition of getting new pj’s every year. And you are not alone in wearing them year round – I do too!
We have the same tradition in my family, too! It was the only gift I was allowed to open Christmas Eve, and I always knew what it’d be. I love your little booties, too!
I don’t know about gingerbread in a tube, BUT Trader Joe’s is selling jars of “cookie butter” which is the best thing I have ever tasted. Literally can’t stop eating it. You have to go buy some!!
I am nervous to buy this as I know I won’t be able to keep my hands out of it..haha
Thats so funny – my grandma buys us all new pajamas on christmas eve too!! Last year I got a J.Crew onesie 😉
I think the cup actually says Jul, girlie! 🙂
I get called Brittney all the time and even when I say my name they spell it as Brittney…don’t know how they get that from Bethany. Stephanie I’d understand because it rhymes.
Love your PJs! I love Christmas PJs but I save mine for Christmas morning since my family video tapes us opening presents. I like to look festive for the camera.
Love the purse! Hahah tres stylish 😀
I have the same Jcrew pjs, but in boxer form. They are so comfy and I definitely wear them year round.
Also I know what you mean about having city provided poop bags, though we are the other way around, having just moved to a place that does have them! so convenient.
We totally get PJs every year too! And with my huge family this is quite the feat–and totally hilarious.
Love it.
I gotta hop on that cookie-dough in a tube business idea……hah.
I feel like you must have a lot of christmas pajamas!
Cookie dough in a tube is a genius idea… I have a feeling I’d be even more tempted to eat it that way though! Loving Sadie’s new poop bag purse!
Our family does new pajamas on Christmas Eve every year, too! Can’t wait to see what pattern I will be wearing this coming year 🙂
I have that wrapping paper! I just got it at Home Goods!
I also had pasta poofs tonight — butternut squash and broccoli. YUM!!
Where did you get your shoes! So cute!
Aw I love the idea of giving pj’s on Christmas eve! I might have to institute that in our household! I am a Pajama Pants addict!
That poop purse sure is stylish. I’m excited you found them! I still live in Orlando with all of the poop bags found almost everywhere…however my dog Roadie likes to poop the furthest possible away from each station. Those would come in handy for anyone! 🙂
Love the PJs…and I’m so glad to hear you wear your holiday jammies all year too.
The city I live in has those little poop bag stations all over the place, so handy! But I mean that’s a beautiful poop bag purse if ever there was one! haha
My family has the same Christmas Eve tradition! I always get so excited for my new pjs 🙂
We exchange PJ’s on Christmas eve every year as well. Love that tradition!
Love the jammies! They look so incredibly cozy.
I get my stepson a new set of flannel Christmas pajamas every year. It’s a cool habit and you can never have too many comfy jams.
That’s the cutest poop bag I’ve ever seen, haha! We have the free ones all over our neighborhood. Thanks for reminding me I have to go Christmas shopping. I can’t believe it’s so close!
My Mom gets us Christmas Jammies too! I think she did it when we were little so that we looked semi cute in the Christmas morning pictures…even if our hair wasn’t brushed. I have kept the tradition alive by exchanging jammies with my fiance.
your pj pants are so cute!
I actually invested in a poop bag purse (for my poodle) over the summer and, I must say, it’s quite the lucrative investment. No more looking over my shoulder for a “bag station” every time we’re on a run. I can’t attest to the degree of dignity my male poodle’s pink-and-fuschia camo poop bag purse imparts to his masculinity, but I suppose that poodles are the metrosexuals of the dog world anyway, so what do you do . . .
Hehe love the pajamas!!!!
Pretty sure that says Jul, Sue
The barista called out “Sue” actually, but maybe she misread another barista’s writing “Jul!” That would make a lot more sense!
It looks super delicious. Now I’m trying to talk weston into going to starbucks with me at 9:00.
pm
Those poop bags are EPIC! I just showed the ol lady for our dog and she is still chuckling…..thanks for the laugh
Ok, it is just me or is it possible that your cup says “Jul” and not “Sue?” Hmmm ….
My family has always opened presents on Christmas Eve and they’re always PJs. Even my mom and aunt continued getting PJs after they started having their own children. Now, three generations get PJs on Christmas Eve. It’s so great! I love my family, and our traditions. Especially when we read the Christmas Story out of Luke in the Bible.
The idea of cookie dough in a tube reminds me of the pancake batter in a can…it squeezes out like whipped cream!
Oh my gosh, your pictures make me feel so Christmasy! i need a tree, asap!
We have the same Christmas pajamas tradition in my family too! I cannot even count how many pairs of them I have in my drawer. I started it with my stepchildren last year, and they loved it! 🙂
PJs for Christmas Eve … always! 🙂
I love those slipper boots!
We get Christmas PJs on Christmas Eve too! I also wear mine year round. But nothing is better than a brand new pair every year 🙂
I love your slippers!
My sisters and I get new pajamas on Christmas Eve too! We have since we were little. I’m hoping to continue the tradition even when I’m married!
what a fun night! where are you slippers from?
old navy!
We have the same pajama tradition. I have two girls and the three of us always have matching or coordinating pajamas on Christmas eve. And even though they are now 26 and 30 they still get their picture together with Santa every year for me. I will have 30 yrs of Santa pictures this year!
FYI I had to actually throw the cookie butter away. I couldn’t stop eating it right off a spoon.
Meee too! Love getting pjs on Christmas Eve!
I bought pj bottoms covered with rainbows because they were on sale in January…still wear them all year round!
I am SO jeal that you are so tan right now. Upstate New York = Upstate New Dark. Seriously so grey right now. Also those poop baggies are super cute, if I do say so myself.
Love the purse! Are the bags pink, too? If so, they are almost too pretty to put the poop in… 🙂 I can’t believe you’re already wrapping. We haven’t even gotten the tree up, yet!
yes they are!
