At yesterday’s art fair, Ryan and I gravitated toward the gorgeous photography booths that showcased images of vibrant leaves, snow-covered cabins and lush mountains saturated with bright yellow, orange and red leaves. I told him to enjoy looking at the seasons, because seasons aren’t something we experience to the fullest in Florida.
Well, Mother Nature is trying to make me eat my words, because we awoke to temperatures hovering around 50 degrees today. That’s all people were talking about at the gym this morning. Chilly weather sends Floridians into a tizzy!
It also makes Sadie extra spunky, which is something I wasn’t sure was even possible. Yes, crazy just got crazier. Let’s just say our morning walk was energetic.
Sadie wore her little pink puffer vest and bounded around the neighborhood in all her glory. She gets a little too excited to wear her winter gear. She loves to burrow under blankets and cuddle, so I can only assume sweaters and jackets make her feel extra cozy.
Workout
My morning workout began with the same 20 minute treadmill interval workout I did last Monday. I was a sweaty mess after covering right around two miles. My face was bright red and did not stop dripping sweat as I finished my workout with the total body superset routine from Tina’s Best Body Boot Camp.
Breakfast
Breakfast started with a banana that I ate while preparing myself a bowl of scrambled eggs with salsa and half of an avocado.
The highlight of today’s breakfast came in a mug!
One of my all-time favorite coffee flavors is The Fresh Market’s peppermint crème coffee, but since we live nowhere near a Fresh Market, Godiva’s peppermint mocha coffee caught my eye at Publix yesterday and seemed like it could be a solid replacement.
I feel like I should exclusively drink autumn-appropriate flavored coffee through November, but since I broke down and listened to the Rockin’ Holidays station on Pandora on Friday for an hour, I figured I’m fighting a losing battle when it comes to resisting holiday cheer and brewed myself a cup of peppermint mocha coffee this morning.
It was glorious!
Now I’m listening to the “Halloween Party” station on Pandora and trying to redirect my holiday enthusiasm toward the holiday that’s actually approaching us this week.
Question of the Morning
- Flavored coffee: Yay or nay?
- If you like flavored coffee, what is your favorite flavor?
Love the pink vest! Too cute!
I actually listened to my Pandora holiday station this weekend, too. I didn’t last long before MAKING myself turn it off! hehe just a couple of months until Christmas. 😉
Love your little mug warmer!
I love some flavored coffees… hazelnut, cinnamon, and pumpkin spice are probably my favorites. I’m not a huge fan of vanilla flavored coffees though – even the smell of it kind of turns me off even though I love vanilla creamers and just about anything else vanilla.
I too have caved in and listened to Christmas music already. I can’t help it, it puts me in such a good mood!!
I love flavored coffee. Hazelnut, Mocha, Peppermint… anything warm and delicious!
I love flavored coffee! I have to say, Peppermint mocha may be one of my favorites 🙂
Premature Peppermint Mocha…sounds like a good name for a band.
I loooove Sadies vest!! It’s so cute!!! I’m not too big a fan of flavored coffee, although I did just buy some pumpkin coffee to try out! 🙂
Omg I love sadies vest! What a cutie! The weather is all over the place, I’m up north and we’re expecting sandy to hit in a few hours.
That vest is super cute!
I love chilly mornings for some reason–grab a sweater and boots & go 🙂
Peppermint. Mmmmmm!
I go on & off with flavored coffees. I don’t like sweetened coffee, but sometimes I just like the smell. Dunkin Donuts pumpkin spice was really good.
As for best body bootcamp – workout A has been my favorite so far. Especially the surrenders!
agreed! workout a is my favorite so far, too.
Sadie is too cute in her puffer vest!! I found new creamer this weekend- both international delight that I HIGHLY recommend- one is Salted Caramel Mocha & the other is S’mores. SO GOOD & I don’t even like S’mores! I don’t know why but the flavors make it seem even more fall like.
I’m a hazelnut coffee girl through-and-through
Pink Puffer Vest?!?! LOVE! I also love that adorable mug warmer… that would make me want to cozy back up under my down comforter! 🙂
Fave flavored coffee is definitely Hazelnut. It’s the coffee we make every morning as our staple. However, Pumpkin Spice was calling our name this morning to kick off Halloween week! What will Sadie be for Halloween?? 🙂
oh my gosh sadies vest! Too cute! I love flavored coffee there really is nothing better
Oh my gosh. Sadie looks too freaking cute. Your breakfast is making me want avocado…badly. I love them so much but it’s so hard to find decent ones where I live that aren’t brown or rock hard.
I’m so looking up the Halloween Pandora! And I like flavored coffee over regular, but I do not like all the syrups and chocolate sauces some places put in them. I’m good with plain old French Vanilla.
Sadie’s adorable! I’m not really into dressing dogs up just for the hell of it, but since it got chilly, and Sadie doesn’t have an undercoat, it’s understandable, and she looks gorgeous (I have a small doxie mix, so after he gets his winter haircut, he needs sweaters and stuff, too.
I like almost all kinds of coffee, but I can never taste the actual flavor unless I add creamer and stevia to it. Unless it’s an actual nutty flavor.
i should record the “dressing sadie” process. you’d think it was christmas morning the way she reacts to us bringing her jackets out of the closet. it’s ridiculous. 🙂
Fact: your dog is more fashionable that I am. That vest is just too cute!
she’s a bargain hunter. it’s from ross. 😉
LOVE flavored coffee. RIght now I’m drinking Buttery Caramel, which is amazing! Can’t wait to start drinking Peppermint Mocha!
I go for hazelnut coffee all day long…. 8 o’clock is my favorite brand. I have tried tons of different pumpkin spice coffees and though i love all things pumpkin, I can’t quite find a pumpkin coffee flavor that I can gravitate towards. I do like the godiva peppermint mocha. And no… it’s never too early for Christmas music. PS– love your little mug warmer!
Hi Julie,
I have 2 questions for you. First how did you get Sadie to keep her vest on? We live in Wisconsin and we just got a boxer puppy and taking her on walks/outside at all has been challenging because it is so cold here and she starts to shake uncontrollably after 5 minutes.
Second about what speed are you doing that interval workout at? I tried it the other day and loved it! I am a runner usually but have been having some issues with my knees so I have had to do the elliptical for the past couple weeks and was starting to get bored with it. Then I found your interval workout and it made a world of difference for me.
Also Sadie is very cute! 🙂
hi corie! i’m not sure whether or not we just got lucky, but sadie has never really resisted clothing. she loves burrowing under blankets even when it’s nearly 80 degrees, so we think she likes the warmth. they make some really great fleeces for dogs that slip right over their heads that i think most dogs wouldn’t be able to get out of on their own. we got one for sadie at petsmart. (i believe martha stewart makes it?)
as for your interval question, if you click the link to my 20-minute interval workout you can find all of the speeds detailed there! i alternated between 6.0 and 8.0 for the most part. 🙂
I love flavored coffee! Peppermint mocha from Starbucks is my favorite. I usually get my first of the season when I’m out doing Black Friday shopping!
Oh, my gosh. That vest could not be cuter. I am snug at home in PA amid hurricane conditions, drinking a very nice cup of coffee but wishing it was a fall-flavor. My fav is cinnamon though I do love gingerbread lattes.
coffee in general: nay. Can’t do it.
That puffer vest is too cute. I love how it’s bright pink!
We live in St. Pete and last night my dog, Annie, was all kinds of crazy, too!
I love wawa coffee! Any wawa’s in Ocala? Hazelnut and Pumpkin spice are like crack. I’m in MD dealing with the hurricane and made my wawa stop and got 48ozs…
Let florida warm up! Im on my way Wednesday!
no but it sounds like i am missing out!
I love hazelnut flavored coffee! So good.
My friend sent me a picture text the other day at Starbucks of the board that says “4 days until the return of the peppermint mocha”. I got so excited! Can’t wait for the red holiday cups 🙂
Sadie’s jacket is too cute! Zelda, our greyhound, has one too. 🙂
skinny minnie dogs unite! 😀
I desperately wish I liked flavored coffee, it all sounds so good! But whenever I try it I think it just tastes awful! So upsetting…
I am a huge fan of coffee/cream flavors! My all-time favorite flavor is peppermint mocha. I actually bought my first container of Coffee Mate’s Peppermint Mocha last month (a whole month later than I did last year). Can’t ya tell that I’m just in love with the holiday season?!? 🙂
Sadie’s vest is hilarious! Too darn cute. I have a Sadie of my own and I have a feeling she would look adorable in it as well! 🙂
The vest is amazing!!
Yay on flavors! Dunkin Donuts now has their peppermint mocha coffee (and red velvet donuts!!) but I prefer The Fresh Market’s Summer Breeze and Red Velvet flavors.
I worked out to my holiday playlist yesterday and have been driving my coworker nuts with All I Want For Christmas is You station on Pandora for the last two weeks. It’s a losing battle for sure 🙂
no one can resist mariah around christmastime. 🙂
Living in Colorado gives us such a wild swing with the weather from day to day. It’s so funny how much people enjoy commenting on the weather changes. Last week we started in the 80s, had several inches of snow on Thursday, were able to run a 5K in shorts on Saturday, and then yesterday was beautiful brisk fall weather- so crazy!
I can’t wait until Christmas music is on the radio (that’s when I am officially allowed to start playing it at home!).
FYI Caribu is on sale BOGO at Publix and they have one with some chocolately deliciousness in it…get it…its kinda like a mocha 🙂 Also I’ve been listening to Michael B.’s and Mariah’s Christmas in the car for weeks…don’t tell.
Caramel flavored coffee is heavenly!
I am not a super huge flavored coffee fan….. I love hazlenut but when I do it I normally don’t buy the flavored coffee. I usually get gevalia expresso roast then put hazlenut flavored syrup in it. I find that the flavored coffees aren’t strong enough for me. Sadie is such a cute dog and I am glad she remains energetic. It means she will live a long time. I am out of commission with my workouts for right now because of a nasty cold that has gotten into my chest but I DESPERATELY wanna go outside while it is chilly but not COLD
I love pumpkin coffee! But I also love putting some eggnog in my coffee during the holidays in place of sweetener/milk.
I am with you on listening to holiday music now…if I don’t start embracing it now then Christmas fly’s by I complain that I didn’t listen to enough. LOL
Such an adorable pink puffer jacket!
I love flavoured coffee’s – i tried Starbucks salted caramel mocha the other week but didn’t like it 🙁 Think my favourite flavour has to be Irish Cream flavour (like a shot of baileys in your coffee) – delicious!
That coffee looks really good! And of course Sadie looks adorable in her pink vest.
Have you heard of the internet radio app Songza? I stumbled upon it from a friend’s recommendation and am in love! Pandora is a great internet radio, but Songza is fun because you can pick music based on your mood and your “concierge” directs you to stations.
I like to go back and forth between the two radio apps, just thought you might be interested.
I love Trader Joe’s pumpkin spice coffee! But normally I just go for the regular 🙂
I’m definitely a “yay” when it comes to flavoured coffee. My faves are pumpkin spice and vanilla caramel this time of year.
Love that puffy doggie vest – too cute. She looks like she’s about to take off in that picture!
I typically like my coffee without flavoring, except for at Starbucks where I always order a sugar free vanilla cappuccino!
Yay to flavoured coffee – I like peppermint the best.
Sadie looks so cute in the vest!
Hehe just yesterday I was wondering how early is too early to start breaking out the Christmas gear. Is it crazy that I kind of can’t wait for Halloween to come and go so that I can break out the snowmen and reindeer? And I usually prefer plain coffee, but flavored isn’t too bad once in a while – vanilla or caramel for me.
Love Sadie’s vest and seems like many of your readers do too! Where did you purchase it?
Also love flavored coffee and I am currently drinking Starbuck’s expresso roast with a little pumpkin spice creamer.
It is also our first chilly weather here on the NC coast! I am much further south of all the flooding and pray that everyone is safe up North.
it’s from ross!
LOVE the vest and mug warmer!
I’ve tried a ton of flavored coffees and for some reason, I always gravitate back to Folgers Vanilla Biscotti. It’s a hard one to beat and lucky for me, it’s cheap.
I wish all the time that I liked coffee but I haven’t tried any flavor that I can even stand to drink. Even the smell is gross to me! My husband is convinced that I can make myself slowly learn to like coffee, which would be nice because I could seriously use caffeine some days!
hahaha Sadie looks so cozy in that vest! And it’s the same here in socal. When there’s a liiiil bit of rain drizzling, people start driving as if they were in a thunderstorm. And I tried that Godiva coffee before! It was pretty good, but I think that the more time passes by, the more I like regular coffee. 😀
