At yesterday’s art fair, Ryan and I gravitated toward the gorgeous photography booths that showcased images of vibrant leaves, snow-covered cabins and lush mountains saturated with bright yellow, orange and red leaves. I told him to enjoy looking at the seasons, because seasons aren’t something we experience to the fullest in Florida.
Well, Mother Nature is trying to make me eat my words, because we awoke to temperatures hovering around 50 degrees today. That’s all people were talking about at the gym this morning. Chilly weather sends Floridians into a tizzy!
It also makes Sadie extra spunky, which is something I wasn’t sure was even possible. Yes, crazy just got crazier. Let’s just say our morning walk was energetic.
Sadie wore her little pink puffer vest and bounded around the neighborhood in all her glory. She gets a little too excited to wear her winter gear. She loves to burrow under blankets and cuddle, so I can only assume sweaters and jackets make her feel extra cozy.
Workout
My morning workout began with the same 20 minute treadmill interval workout I did last Monday. I was a sweaty mess after covering right around two miles. My face was bright red and did not stop dripping sweat as I finished my workout with the total body superset routine from Tina’s Best Body Boot Camp.
Breakfast
Breakfast started with a banana that I ate while preparing myself a bowl of scrambled eggs with salsa and half of an avocado.
The highlight of today’s breakfast came in a mug!
One of my all-time favorite coffee flavors is The Fresh Market’s peppermint crème coffee, but since we live nowhere near a Fresh Market, Godiva’s peppermint mocha coffee caught my eye at Publix yesterday and seemed like it could be a solid replacement.
I feel like I should exclusively drink autumn-appropriate flavored coffee through November, but since I broke down and listened to the Rockin’ Holidays station on Pandora on Friday for an hour, I figured I’m fighting a losing battle when it comes to resisting holiday cheer and brewed myself a cup of peppermint mocha coffee this morning.
It was glorious!
Now I’m listening to the “Halloween Party” station on Pandora and trying to redirect my holiday enthusiasm toward the holiday that’s actually approaching us this week.
Question of the Morning
- Flavored coffee: Yay or nay?
- If you like flavored coffee, what is your favorite flavor?
Your dog looks very intimidating until you put a pink vest on her. Of course, that may just be a look of raw disgust 🙂
The best part about being in London right now is that everyone is starting to get ready for Christmas. Without Thanksgiving as a November barrier, I get to enjoy all of the wonders of pine trees, rope lights, and everything that is red and green a month in advance. I love it!
Also, totally yes to flavored coffees. Give me anything French Vanilla and I’m in love. Particularly with Tim Horton’s French Vanilla cappuccinos. You have to be norther of Ohio to get them, but they are so good! My mom used to drink them all the time when I was a kid.
Mm, peppermint mocha coffee! Sounds delicious. Sadie looks beyond adorable in her little jacket, but I gotta say, weather in the 50’s? That’s pretty warm if you ask me! Haha, so crazy how different it is down south!
I hate flavored coffee, but peppermint mocha anything sounds pretty awesome to me. Sadie is adorable in her vest!
I have been craving a peppermint mocha all day! Its around 40 degrees here in Ohio. I will have to look for the flavor coffee, I usually use sugar free syrups to make a “skinny” peppermint mocha. I LOVE flavored coffee!!
I’m not a big fan of coffee, but flavored hot chocolate is delicious! I’m dying to try a red velvet one… Can’t wait for CHRISTMAS! It’s the best holiday ever! New running clothes galore 🙂
I am absolutely in LOVE with Green Mountain coffee’s Pumpkin Spice coffee. I have a Keurig brewer so I’m kind of limited to what they offer unless I want to use my reusable “k-cup”, so when I discovered the Pumpkin Spice coffee k-cups at Walmart they ended up in my cart immediately 🙂
Sadie looks so happy to be in her little coat, and the hot pink is too cute on her! It’s crazy how the weather has changed here in Alabama, too. 80 degrees one day and 50 the next. Fall is officially in the air! Yay!
I will be trying out your treadmill interval workout today, too! I have been en “elliptical junkie” for too long. Time to change things up!
The Fresh Market’s Vanilla Maple is InSaNe!!! I hope you can get to a Fresh Market at some point to try it. So often flavored coffee smells awesome to me but the taste falls flat. Vanilla Maple smells divine and tastes just as good!!!
Haha Julie!! We’re even further south than you are in West Palm and people were wearing boots and scarfs today!! OMG! I love it, don’t get me wrong, but it is a hoot to see how crazy people get in Florida. Also, my favorite coffee at The Fresh Market is pumpkin spice, closely followed by Peppermint Mocha. That stinks you don’t have a FM near you anymore, I love that store! IMO it is better than Whole Foods because it is smaller and more intimate. And their meat cuts are to die for! Sadie looks adorable in her puffer jacket. I totally need to get one for my doggy.
HAHA that picture of Sadie cracked me up!!!
I actually had some peppermint mocha coffee this weekend. It was in the cabinet at work so on of my coworkers made it. It was pretty good but to be honest when working nights sometimes any coffee can be good coffee!
Where can I find what Round 3 of the Best Body Bootcamp is comprised of?
it’s actually an 8-week workout plan from tinareale.com. 8 weeks of workouts for $25. 🙂
WHERE did you find that puffer vest?!? I HAVE to have it for my pup, haha. Even though mine is 80+ lbs and might look a tad like a stuffed sausage, I must have it for her.
I love flavored coffees and actually have a hard time drinking plain! Well, I still like it plain, but flavored seems so much more special. My favorite flavored coffee is from my a local cafe in my hometown, the Elvis latte (peanut butter and banana latte). I’m also a huge fan of cinnamon dolce coffee at Starbucks, and gingerbread in the winter!
Sadie’s coat is adorable! Flavored coffee is the only way to go. My all time fave is hazlenut, but I’ve recently became obsessed with wild blueberry mountain k-cups.
The weather is doing crazy things these days. I’m just hoping to stay alive over the next 24 hours!! It’s a mess up here!
Nay to flavored cofffee…that’s one way in which I am a simple creature. 🙂 And that is too funny about your dogs. NYC pets always look so miserable and pathetic in the getups their owners put them in, ha!
FYI there’s a fresh market in The Villages and in Gainesville.
LOVE flavored coffee! My favorite is chocolate glazed donut with sugar free vanilla creamer. So yum! I have that with nuts every morning for breakfast. It is like a peanut butter cup for breakfast. 🙂
That vest is pretty adorable.
Sadie looks adorable! I have a yorkie who is extremely hyper. But any time we put clothes on her, she refuses to move!
If you’re in Orlando anytime, we just got a Wawa on central fl parkway by Sea World!
And I LOVE flavored coffee. It’s the only kind I drink. But I have such a hard time making it taste good. I have a keurig and use flavored coffee and creamers but still can’t get it to taste like Starbucks! have any tips?
Sadie looks soooo cute!! I love that pink vest! 😀 My holiday cheer is already bursting at the seams, too. No use in fighting it. Deck the halls! 😉
1. I find Sadie’s coat hilarious and cute. So girly and awesome.
2. That coffee sounds sooooo good. Flavored coffee for the win! I usually go for vanilla or hazelnut, but I love trying new flavors. Fruity coffees really throw me off though. Not even sure if I’ve even tried one, but I’ve heard of raspberry coffee–not sure about that one.
I love Sadie’s vest!
White Choc-a-Mocha is my favourite flavoured coffee without a doubt!
I love the mug warmer. Where did you find it?
Love Sadie’s jacket! Lori needs to get Jax one!
Thank you for posting your Pandora’s stations. I have tried to find a decent Halloween station and “Halloween Party” is awesome! Although now I find myself wanting to listen to “Rockin Holidays” 24/7 now LOL. I can’t help it with this cold Florida weather!!
Your do has some good fashion sense- pink is a good color on her! 🙂
And I love flavored coffee- hazelnut, white chocolate…yum!
If you want to get into the fall spirit with a beverage, you need to try the Pumpkin Smash smoothie from Jamba Juice. I realize there are no locations in Ocala (closest is Gainesville), but it is a true festive pleasure for the tastebuds … more of a dessert smoothie than a healthy smoothie, that’s for sure.
On a side note, I’ve been reading your blog for two-and-a-half years and this is the FIRST time I have commented. After moving from Orlando to San Francisco last month and starting my own blog about the experience, I finally began to appreciate the comments that people give you about what you write.
It leads me to offer you a challenge … I know you like to make smoothies … I wonder if you can recreate a Pumpkin Smash??
