This morning marked the return of protein pancakes!
I seem to fall in and out of love with various breakfasts and will repeat similar meals over and over again for an extended period of time until something else pops up and I eat that one over and over again. Lately I’ve been loving overnight oats and egg sandwiches. Before I was on a scrambled egg and smoothie kick!
This morning I woke up in the mood for something new. I broke out my immersion blender and rounded up all the ingredients I needed for protein pancakes.
I made a batch of my favorite banana bread protein pancakes and topped them with maple syrup.
I have a feeling lots of different protein pancakes recipes may start resurfacing on the blog soon!
Some of my favorites:
- Greek Yogurt Protein Pancakes
- Pumpkin Protein Pancakes
- Oatmeal Protein Pancakes
- Banana Vanilla Protein Pancakes
Yum!
I’m headed out the door to work the moment this blog post is published. See ya after lunch!
Question of the Morning
- You choose: Pancakes, waffles or French toast?
I love them all, but French toast is probably my favorite!
Jan @ Sprouts n Squats says
Pancakes all the way!! But in terms of my favourite breakfast it is definitely poached eggs on toasts with avocado, goats cheese and smoked salmon, so so good!! 🙂
Nicole @ FruitnFitness says
I’m the same way with breakfast, I will eat the same things for months before I have something else and do the same with that. I love my moms French toast but usually make pancakes if I’m making them at my place.
Karen R @www.fabinyour40s.com says
Waffles, please. I love when they are a little crunchy. I like butter and powdered sugar on them, no maple syrup. Yum!
Erin @ Girl Gone Veggie says
Yes yes and yes, I like all breakfast foods! 😀
Nikki@willrunforpizza says
I’m not a banana person, but these sound good with blueberries!! And with fall around the corner, the pumpkin sounds even better!! Looking forward to more of these recipes!!
Livi says
waffles hold my heart! The soft inside…the crunchy outside…all the nooks for delicious toppings?! you can’t go wrong 🙂
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
whipped creeeeam! 😀
Shel@PeachyPalate says
Oooh I’d have to go pancakes, nut butter on top is must for me! Melty and drippy and lots of fresh berries!
Charlotte @ Commitness to Fitness says
looks delicious!! that is a really tough call… i’d probably have to go with pancakes though… no, waffles… no.. yes, pancakes: )
Ali @ Peaches and Football says
I’d go with french toast – especially loaded up with fruit and maple syrup!
When I was a college freshman, they had a make-your-own belgian waffle bar. I spent MANY mornings loading up my waffle with plump raspberries, blackberries, and waaaaaaay too much whipped cream. Definitely not health conscious then! But – it was delicious and a very fond memory I have of that year. 🙂
Heather @fitncookies says
Oh those look yummy! Maybe I’ll try those soon! I am always skeptical of “protein pancakes” but they do look delicious!! I am a french toast girl. Pancakes are delicious, but just love cinnamon french toast more!
Ashley @ Saving Money in your Twenties says
french toast, definitely! need to make some ASAP 🙂
Becky says
Pancakes for sure! I love all of your protein pancake recipes! I have made a lot of them!
Sara @ sarasmiles says

Kelsey Yoki says
I love pancakes or waffles on any normal day, but when we go out for breakfast, I love getting french toast. Locally, we have a restaurant called Duluth Grill and they have an AMAZING breakfast menu! The french toast is phenomenal.
Anele @ Success Along the Weigh says
Pancakes and French Toast are still wrestling on the floor for the winner. Will let you know who comes out on top. (Regardless, the winner gets doused in syrup like a Gatorade to a football coach)
Jamie @ fitfortherun says
Pancakes!! with peanut butter and bananas 🙂
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
I’m definitely a french toast girl when I eat out but at home it’s english muffin with nut butter and banana. Even though I THINK about making other things, when I wake up in the morning I just want my go-to breakfast.
Kendra says
Mmmmm…. To bad I don’t have time to make such a delicious breakfast this morning! I love French toast, definitely my favorite!!
Megan says
French toast easy peasyyyy. I am with you though on the same thing every am. I go in month long streaks of the same breakfast then one day just switch it up and eat the same thing for another few months…
Ashley @ Eat Run Live Happy says
I’ve been making pancakes every morning for my son who just started kindergarten. I’m thinking about making a huge batch and freezing them so I don’t have to slave away every morning!
Tara | Treble in the Kitchen says
I love your Greek yogurt protein pancakes. They are so simple and tasty!! 🙂
Jackie Macharsky says
Do I have to pick one? I pick all 3!!!
Autumn says
Pancakes!
My dad makes the best buttermilk pancakes. Or I like banana pancakes topped with fresh blueberries. Yum!! 🙂
Amy @ The Little Honey Bee says
I’m the same way with my breakfasts… repeat, repeat, repeat until I am bored and have a new craving or idea. I have been loving “zeggs” have you tried it?!
And I definitely have to go with pancakes!
Lindsey says
Pancakes for sure! My husband loves waffles though, I only like pancakes the best since they are the easiest to make lol.
Kelly @ Kelly Runs for Food says
I’m a pancake lover! I’ve made some of your recipes before and I love using my immersion blender to whip up a “fancy” breakfast super fast!
Alex @ Cookie Dough Katzen says
Hm I’d say waffles. I do the same with eating one breakfast item for days on end. Lately I’ve been on an oatmeal kick. I want to try one of your baked oatmeal recipes.
Ashley @ Life and Fitness says
I don’t discriminate when it comes to breakfast foods 😉
I’ll eat them all!
Sara @ LovingOnTheRun says
Pancakes for sure! Blueberry pancakes are my favorite!
Tiff @ Love, Sweat, and Beers says
I know what you mean about repeat meals, especially breakfasts. I repeat my beloved protein oats all.the.time!
Katherine says
Lately I have been having greek yogurt with chia seeds and slivered almonds and banana. But the protein pancake is sooo goood!!! Its one of my favorites when I want to “indulge” but still be healthy. Love it with some melted almond butter one top.
Rebecca says
Ah it so depends on my mood. But, if I absolutely had to choose, definitely pancakes! They’re so customizable!! 🙂
Alison @ Daily Moves and Grooves says
That’s so funny, I just posted about waffles and pancakes! We made some oatmeal raisin pancakes and waffles from Shortstacks and they were awesome.
I love waffles because of their crispy edges, pancakes for their stackability and fluffiness, and French toast for its crust and richness. But I think pancakes win it for me!
Audrey @ In Shape Cupcake says
I love a good protein pancake or coconut flour protein waffle (purelytwins recipe) but french toast…is so good! And its also so easy to make healthy!
Melissa says
I definitely have to agree with you about french toast! I love it when it’s on thickly-sliced challah bread, doused in maple syrup! Yum!
Alex A says
Pancakes!!!! I love that it is so easy to experiment with pancakes. And you can make a pretty healthy tasty pancake
Maureen @SheisMoments says
Julie, I’ve followed your recipes many times and they are always delicious. I like the pumpkin the best!
Katie @ running4cupcakes says
Pancakes!! Greek yogurt ones with chobani are my fav!!
Jana @ Bananas for Balance says
Waffles mainly because they are a vehicle for peanut butter 🙂 I love toasted buckwheat or whole wheat waffles with natural pb, honey, chia seeds and walnuts.
Jessica @ FromtheKitchentotheRoad says
I want waffles AND French toast. I love the cinnamon in French toast.
Sarah @ Sweet Miles says
French toast for sure..especially if it involves any of the following: chocolate chips, blueberries, cinnamon, or pecans. Not at the same same, obviously 🙂 Have a great day!!!
Stephanie says
Hi! I have a question for you… Slightly off topic, but because of your fitness and health background, I thought I would get your opinion. My favorite snack in the world is nuts– usually almonds and sometimes cashews. I workout 6-7 times a week and I try and eat a very healthy diet… I worry about nuts because of their high calorie/fat content and I definitely don’t want to gain weight… I’m interested in your view. Also I would love a post about a fitness trainer’s plan for losing weight as opposed to just good workouts! Thanks!
Ali says
French toast is probably my favorite too especially when it’s made on texas toast piled with powdered sugar, butter and maple syrup. So good, yet not so healthy. Good thing I don’t eat it all the time. If I did, it might lose it’s luster.
Andrea @Pencils and Pancakes says
Pancakes!!!!!! For sure….I’ve been making them while I can in the summer since school starts soon! (I’m a teacher)
GiGi Eats Celebrities says
I wish I could return my pancakes to my breakfast! Unfortunately I can no longer eat eggs (among other things) so…. This cannot happen anymore. Stinks because that’s all I used to eat. 🙁
Steph @ StephSnacks says
Pancakes for sure! I am craving some!
Jolynn @ Lift Pray Love says
Of those three, definitely pancakes!
Nicole @ not before my tea says
Is it possible for me to just hire you to prepare all of my meals for me? I’ve realized that I can’t look at your blog when I’m hungry because it’s just painful. 🙂
And for your question, can I choose ALL of the breakfasts?!
Bethany @ Accidental Intentions says
Ooooh, that’s a tough question. I think I’d have to go with waffles (of the homemade, not toaster variety), mostly because I don’t have a waffle maker so to get waffles is a real treat.
Kelly says
I love the sound of these pancakes. Its great to get some protein with your pancakes as well. I can’t wait to try them.
