On Saturday morning, our group of 15 awoke ready to party it up! We were a little too excited for SantaCon to begin!!!
Our trip to New York City centered around the celebration of my friend Leah’s 30th birthday. Since Leah’s birthday is December 5, combining her birthday celebration with SantaCon, a "nonsensical Santa Claus convention that happens for absolutely no reason," made perfect sense and gave all of us a fabulous excuse to dress up like goofballs and have a good time!
To quote my friend Laurel, "SantaCon is proof that no one ever really wants to grow up" and we’re all just big kids inside. Yes! Stay young at heart, my friends.
Though I’ve heard about SantaCon from Merri before, I don’t think anything could’ve prepared me for the ridiculously fabulous holiday mayhem that surrounds this festive event. It was a blast and I’d love to go again!
We initially planned to make it out at night, but once we made it back to Merri and Pete’s apartment and Pete ordered pizzas for all of us, I was in no mood to head back out into the cold. Lounging at Merri and Pete’s place and eating pizza and ice cream sounded like the perfect end to SantaCon to me.
Thank you so much to Merri and Pete for hosting us this weekend and to our wonderful college friends for such a memorable SantaCon experience. I love you guys and had the best time!!!

- C. Johnson: “Just signed up! I’m pregnant with my second child, and love to wear dresses during pregnancy because they’re just so much more comfortable for me than most other things. I really like the quilt patch tie front dress from Maternal America, but I would also LOVE a new pair of tall boots. My feet got bigger after my son was born and mine are quite snug! Thanks! Have fun in NYC!”

Looks like a blast! I had a few friends go and they loved it!
The onesies are amazing!!!!
Omg! The pink bunny pjs are the best!! What a hilariously creative idea. My husband & our friend went to Santacon dressed like elves. They had a blast & I couldn’t stop laughing at their costumes.
Wait, those onesies have Hoods? Double fun!
i love all of the double fisting going on! haha
Hahahaha this is too, too funny. Love the one-sie idea. I think I heard about SantaCon on the news today. SO funny!
Never heard of this SantaCon…I want to go!! I’m surprised they don’t do one in July!
That sounds like so much fun! I have an ugly sweater run tomorrow, it should be good!
Looks like y’all had a blast! I’m loving the onesies and red lipstick look-very fashion forward! ; )
Great pics! Looks like you had great time. 🙂
Wow SantaCon looks like such a fun and amazing event. I would definitely love to go there one year. I always find if I’ve been out and go home that it is hard to get motivated to want to go out again especially in cold weather.
You head band is fantastic! So festive and cute :).
Your onesie is amazing 🙂 Looks like you had so much fun! Putting this on my bucketlist!
That looks like so much fun! I love your outfits- so perfect!!!
How have I never heard of this?! Looks amazingly fun. Gotta love NYC full of awesome things.
In Chicago we have TBOX (twelve bars of Christmas) and I’d love to do it one year. It’s basically the same idea as SantaCon – although with friends here I’m sure you’ve heard of it! I’ve been here for 4 holiday seasons, 3 of which I had finals! Maybe next year!
I saw quite a few Santas doing the walk of shame Sunday morning when I finally made it into the city 😉 Sounds like a really fun day!
that looks SO fun!!
Love the onesies! SantaCon looks like an absolute blast, and how wonderful that you got to spend it with some of your best friends in NYC!
not drinking????
Hahahah oh my goodness. Looks like one big, giant Christmas party! 😉
SantaCon sounds amazing! I would totally rock a Christmas costume and go drinking all over the city!
What a fun time! Love all the matching pjs!
Santa Con is on my to-do list for 2014 – mostly because I want to wear a onesie in public. 🙂 Glad you had a great time in New York!
Santacon looks so fun and something a Christmas kid at heart like me definitely needs to go to next year!
Oh man, how do you even approach Monday after a weekend like that?! Looks like it was a BLAST and totally reminds me of a bigger and better version of college Christmases! Totes jel over here, Julie 🙂 I have just added this to the bucket list!
i loved reading your santacon recap! it looked like an absolute BLAST! i need to start a petition to bring santacon to california 🙂
So much fun! Philly just did the santacon. Sometimes being cozy at home is the best thing ever.. esp with friends!

Awwww you guys all look awesome! I had never heard of this, but it sounds like a lot of fun 🙂
I lived in NYC for two years and both years my friends and I did SantaCon and it was so much fun. The first year I was Mrs. Claus and the 2nd year I was an Elf. I love the holiday season and especially SantaCon. Their is one this weekend in Ft. Lauderdale; which I doubt will be the same as NYC but going to give it a chance! Looks like you had a great trip! Loved the onesies.
Looks like so much fun!!! I love holiday parties 🙂
It looks like you had an amazing time! I’d love to go to Santacon one year.
I love NYC during the holidays. It just feels magical. Also, how can you not love running around in a onesie?!?
That looks so fun and festive! Onesies make everything better!
I’m going to a onesie party this weekend, I can’t wait! I hope this cool weather sticks around down here in FL.
This recap definitely brings me back to my Santacon days years ago 🙂 The boozy brunch, the crazy outfits…I have some great pics! Glad you guys stayed at one bar – it was too crowded to keep trying to go to different bars. Always look forward to your NYC recaps!
I love themed holiday parties! I’ve never actually been to one though. I think I would love to go to an ugly sweater party, but I’ve heard a lot of people near me don’t want to have them anymore since so many other people do them. Not this girl!
Love the pjs!!! Where did you get them?
This looks like SO much freaking fun! And I love that you guys spent the rest of the day at the bar. Totally what my group of friends would do as well.
sounds like so much fun! and what brand/colour of lipstick are you all wearing? it looks like the perfect shade of Christmas red, i need to get some asap!
That looks RIDICULOUS! How much fun is that!!
Yay, I love boozy brunches in NYC!
SO MUCH FUN … must go some year.
Sounds like such a fun time! Man, I love Christmas 🙂
