Our celebratory dinner at Season’s 52 last night was the perfect way to honor such a big milestone in my mom’s life.
My mom, dad, sister and I had reservations at Season’s 52 in Jacksonville and before we arrived, I let the restaurant know the reason behind our special dinner. They did such a wonderful job of adding special touches to our meal throughout the evening which was so neat.
Our table was decorated with heart-shaped confetti and a card congratulating my mom on her recovery waited for us at our booth. We were all so surprised and impressed! Our waiter, Robert, immediately greeted us and took us through the specials of the day, highlighting his favorites on the menu.
After we placed an order for two appetizers to share, we enjoyed a fabulous seared tuna amuse bouche which the chef told us is given to first-time diners at Season’s 52 and those celebrating something special.
Seared tuna is always a hit with my family and we raved to the chef about the fantastic flavors in the small bite.
My family and I also shared shrimp and lobster spring rolls and a mushroom flatbread to start.
Both dishes were great and I loved the lemongrass and sweet chili sauces that accompanied the spring rolls.
While we enjoyed our appetizers, we surprised my mom with letters from those who love her most.
I reached out to a handful of people who sent me cards to give to my mom. She was shocked and moved to tears by her previous Jazzercise group who sent pictures and a card from St. Pete. They all look a picture together, holding up the number five which was so sweet! My mom spoke about how much their card meant to her because they saw her go through everything as she tried to remain active throughout her treatment. It was very special!
Eventually Robert brought our entrees to the table and I was quite impressed with the presentation of my barbeque chicken salad.
Robert shook the salad out of the container so it fell onto my plate which was pretty cool!
My salad was fantastic and I had no trouble finishing it!
And then it was time for dessert! The “mini indulgences” are a Season’s 52 staple and once Robert described the seasonal treat, a pumpkin pie indulgence with a gingersnap crust, I was sold!
Dessert cheers!
It was a wonderful night spent celebrating a wonderful woman!
Your family is so cute! And congratulations to your mom. I’m glad you were able to celebrate such a great moment with her. 🙂
Congratulations to your mom. What a wonderful milestone to share with a wonderful family!!
Congratulations to your mom!!! I’m so happy for her, you and your family! Sounds like a wonderful (and delicious!) way to celebrate this huge milestone!
Congrats to your mom! That is so sweet that the restaurant added special touches to your dinner. 🙂
I’m glad you were all able to celebrate together! My mom is a breast cancer survivor too and I know how special it must have been for your mom to have everyone together.
Congratulations to your mom and your family! My mom had a complete gastrectomy (removal of the stomach) a year and a half ago for stomach cancer, and it was one of the scariest times in mine and my family’s life. It’s great to see your family’s success story :). It makes me want to plan a celebration for my mom’s 5 year gastrectomy anniversary!
Again, congrats to your mother! What an amazing milestone and I am so glad that you all were able to celebrate together!
What sweet touches the restaurant made, it looks like an amazing place!
I love Seasons 52 in Jacksonville! one of my favorites. Congratulations to your mom! What a big milestone for sure! 🙂
That’s wonderful! My mom was diagnosed when I was 8, but has now been cancer free for over 16 years. I am in awe of her strength and I probably don’t tell her enough as the time goes on…Thanks for the reminder to constantly celebrate her. Especially with each passing year, since it is more of a victory and testimony to God’s healing in her.
On another note: You rock. I hope you are constantly encouraged by what you do! I don’t read a ton of blogs, but I love visiting yours everyday! Your joy, discipline, encouragement and love for others (esp. sadie) is heartwarming and uplifting (even when you have tough days)! Keep rocking!
Congrats to your mother on a wonderful milestone! Cheers to many, many more years to add to that 5!
Congratulations to your mom! That’s amazing! Last night also seemed to be an amazing way to celebrate! It’s awesome when you see restaurants do such nice and wonderful things like this!

That is so sweet that they did so much for your mom at the restaurant, great customer service!
What a great way to celebrate her recovery!
Their mushroom flatbread is soo so good. Here in Texas they serve it on a long wood board though! It’s interesting to see the differences.
You are so thoughtful! What a wonderful, sweet way to celebrate your Mom.
Looks like a wonderful celebration! Seasons 52 is my favorite so obviously I love the restaurant choice. You’re a lucky woman to have such a strong lady as a mom (which you clearly know), and she’s just as blessed to have a great family behind her. Congrats on such a wonderful milestone and cheers to many more in the future!
I love how the restaurant gave you personal touches! It’s so sweet! What a great night for your family! 😀
Such an amazing day for your mom. I can’t imagine seeing a loved one go through all the treatment, but she looks so darn healthy and happy now! Inspiring for sure! And dinner looked amazing, as well 😉
I love that you all went out & celebrated that! Such a special special thing. Cute family!!
What a wonderful occasion to celebrate! Stories like this always touch me deeply as my own mom recently celebrated six years of recovery. Breast cancer is such a horrific disease that affects so many, and it’s always wonderful to see those that are winning the fight!
I love this. I think it is great how much effort the restaurant put into making this milestone memorable for your mother!
How special! I love how they decorated the table and made it such a great experience for you mom. I loooove Seasons 52 and miss it so much out here in UT! I always request it when we go visit our families in AZ. Their salmon and the carrot cake “mini indulgence” is my favorite!
I love Seasons 52, we have them here in South Florida too. All that delicious food and under 500 calories per dish! Heck ya! Glad you guys had a nice time. That tuna looks awesome, I will have to try it next time.
Congratulations to your mom! What a nice celeration.

Congratulations to your mom! You’re so thoughtful to collect well wishes from her friends, she’s blessed to have you as her daughter!
We have a Seasons in Houston and I love how mindful they are regarding health and their dishes. Their mini desserts are insane! My fav will always be the pecan pie but I’ll have to try the pumpkin!
