Sadie did her best to hunt for breakfast for all of us this morning, but since we cannot survive on shadows and light reflections, I turned to real food for a little more sustenance.
I needed a quick breakfast I could eat on the fly since I wanted to take a morning BodyPump class at the gym, so an apple, a handful of cashews and a LUNA bar that I ate while walking out the door did the trick.
I’m glad I made it out to the class because it was a good one. Super sweaty, just the way I like it!
Ryan joined me at the gym and did his own thing while I took BodyPump and after our workouts, we drove to Sippers, my favorite local Jacksonville coffee shop for lattes.
I ordered a butter toffee almond milk latte and happily sipped it on our way back to my parents’ place.
We’re heading back to Ocala in a bit, so I’m off to enjoy some time with my parents before we hit the road. Have a great Wednesday!

I started my day by teaching BODYPUMP in the early morning slot. It’s a great way to get moving. 800 reps and you’re done!
Julie says
800 reps! I’ve never heard it explained that way, but I love it!
ellie @ fit for the soul says
Hi Ashley! Just curious~what do you mean by 800 reps? Are all BP classes consisting of that many? I never got to try it so it’s intriguing–800 reps is killer! 😛
Ashley Pitt @ A Lady Goes West says
Hi Ellie,
Yes, the typical BODYPUMP class consists of 800 reps per one-hour (55 minutes to be exact) workout. That includes every bicep curl, every squat, every lunge and every crunch totalled up. Most of the releases (which is a one-hour class of 10 songs), run just around 800, some are a bit more. The folks at Les Mills calculated for us instructors a couple of years ago, and I always like to tell my participants the number. It’s a lot, and that’s why you use lighter weights than when you are lifting out on the gym floor, because the sets are longer and you require more muscle endurance.

Ashley

I live in Jacksonville, just on the other side of the Intracoastal from Jacksonville Beach, and I’ve never heard of Sippers.
But I highly recommend trying out Lillie’s in Neptune Beach the next time you’re in town. It is a great place for coffee.

I was just wondering, when you do BP, what weights do you use for different tracks…? Do you usually go for challenging yourself or play it safe and choose weights that you already know and love? 🙂
