Hello and happy Sunday! I think we have some catchin’ up to do, so let’s back up to yesterday morning after breakfast.
At around 10 a.m., Ryan and I headed to Ellenton Premium Outlets, located about 40 minutes from my parents’ house to do some shopping.
Back in September, I was selected to be part of Banana Republic Factory Store’s blogger panel and was provided with a gift card for $50 that I was very anxious to spend! If you ever take a peak at my Fashion page, you know I am a Banana Republic outlet store fiend and constantly take advantage of their amazing deals.
While browsing around the store yesterday, I nabbed three things:
- An ivory tank with beautiful feminine lace detailing
(I thought about buying that skirt, but in the end decided against it.)
- A pair of dark purple straight-leg pants that I think will be great tucked into boots in the winter…
- And an infinity scarf that I ended up wearing to a hockey game with Ryan that night!
My total was over $50, so I shelled out some money, but everything was significantly cheaper than normal retail prices. Sweet! My favorite item was the infinity scarf and I see that baby getting a lot of use once the weather gets colder.
Lunch
After we were done shopping, we met up with Ryan’s mom and her boyfriend for lunch at Woody’s River Roo Pub & Grill. It was such a fun little place along the water and we enjoyed sitting outside since the weather was so nice.
I ordered a Greek salad and was pleased to see a plethora of feta cheese on top!
We also enjoyed key lime pie for dessert after our waitress said it was homemade and delicious.
It was so great to be able to spend a few hours with Ryan’s family while we were in the area!
After we said our goodbyes, we made a pit stop into Walgreen’s before heading home.
I seriously debated buying this little gem for Ryan as an anniversary gift…
You know we love the Biebs! (I still love this picture of Ryan + cardboard Bieber.)
I decided against it when I saw that the toothbrush didn’t play “One Less Lonely Girl” or “Never Say Never,” my our favorite Bieber songs.
Eventually we made it back to St. Pete where we collected our belongings from my parents’ house (minus Sadie) and headed to the hotel where we got married to check in and kick off anniversary date night!
Date Night
Ryan made dinner reservations for us at SideBern’s, a fancy restaurant located in Tampa.
We did a lot of sharing at dinner and split a seared tuna appetizer to start after I downed what seemed like an entire loaf of freshly baked bread.
I wasn’t that hungry when it was time for dinner and ordered the scallops off the appetizer menu for myself and shared some of Ryan’s roasted elk loin.
Who knew elk was so delicious!? Both of our dishes were fantastic.
After dinner we had plans to attend a Tampa Bay Lightning hockey game! I gave Ryan tickets to the game for his birthday at the beginning of the month and we were excited to finally get to go.
I was honestly surprised how much I loved watching the game! Hockey is incredibly fast-paced and I was highly entertained. The Lightning ended up winning 1 – 0, so it was a great game to watch!
On our way back to the hotel, we had to make a pit stop for late-night dessert and hit up Yogurtology for frozen yogurt.
In the cup: Pumpkin pie and oatmeal cookie fro yo, chocolate covered almonds, peanut M&Ms, chocolate covered waffle cone pieces and sprinkles. The oatmeal cookie frozen yogurt was definitely my favorite flavor of fro yo to date. It had bits of cookie in it which made a texture freak like me all too happy.
We ended date night back at the hotel where there were two weddings taking place. It was so neat to see two couples getting married as we were celebrating our anniversary. It brought back all the fun memories!
More anniversary fun continued today (on our actual anniversary), but this post is getting a bit long, so I’ll be back with today’s recap in a bit!
P.S. The Fashion page was updated today.
Happy Anniversary Julie and Ryan!
Happy Anniversary to you two! I’m loving your new purchases and your dinner looks great! I always order scallops if I see them on the menu. Yum!
Glad you had fun on your date night! I love hockey and I’m glad you guys enjoyed yourself at the game. Happy Anniversary!
Happy Anniversary to you and Ryan!!
It’s crazy to see you in a dress right now because it’s so darn cold here. I’m jealous! I’m also crossing my fingers that the warm weather will still be there when I come to Florida for work next month.
What a fun weekend!! It sounds like it was very special and memorable. Your froyo combo looks amazing! I wish I could find some oatmeal cookie froyo around here – that sounds delicious!
I love the outlets!! I could go crazyy there. I love your scarf too, super cute! Sounds like a great night.
So jealous you are wearing a dress without leggings and a big coat! It went from being in the 70s to in the upper 40s so fast. While I miss the warmer weather I enjoy the cooler temperatures because it reminds me I only have a month left till Christmas break! So excited to be done with another semester of college.
Happy Anniversary!! 🙂 Looks like a great way to celebrate! I’m in love with that tank top!
super cute dress!
so happy you had a nice anniversary weekend… it is such a special time. can’t wait to hear what ryan got you!
Happy Anniversary again! 🙂 It sounds like you are having a lovely anniversary. I can’t wait to see what Ryan got you. I love that dress! I’m jealous you are in flip flops. We have snow here.
happy one year to you and ryan! Being a born floridian, growing up I was told that you can usually tell when key lime pie is homemade and used with real limes when the pie is not the typical light green color that we are use to seeing.
Also, you guys have to try Bern’s steakhouse, they have the best food. And they give tours of the kitchen and bring you upstairs to their lounge area for dessert!
i want to go there JUST for the desserts! i’ve heard such amazing things!
Congrats Julie and Ryan! Wow, I can hardly believe it’s been a whole year! By the way, I’m a big fan of BR too….the lines and fit of their designs work really well for me. So fun that you had a $50 card. 🙂
Happy anniversary!
I love infinity scarves…I definitely need to get more for this year! I am dying to try the oatmeal frozen yogurt….I have heard other people rave about it, but the fro yo places in my area aren’t the greatest, so I doubt they will have that flavor. Bummer!
I’ve been reading for a while now but have never commented before…just wanted to say that the away team last night was from my town! The Winnipeg Jets are HUGE here right now…it’s been 15 years since we had an NHL team. Tickets for home games are very hard to come by (as soon as season tickets went on sale they basically sold out for the next 4 years)
Happy Anniversary by the way!
Glad to see you enjoyed the game! I’m from Winnipeg so the score wasnt to my liking but it was a great game. Go jets!
oatmeal cookie froyo??? that sounds amazing! I’ve never seen that! And I’m so jealous of the hockey game, I’ve been dying to go to one!
That scarf is beautiful! 🙂 Glad you guys had a blast. I want to steal that fro yo!
A Banana Factory Store opened in my little east coast Canadian city just last weekend! I was there this weekend and not disappointed. I have always just had to indulge on trips to the US in the past. But now I will be poor…choosing just one thing isn’t really my style!
I always go over gift cards, but it’s fun to pay a tiny amount for less clothes!
Aww Happy Anniversary to you both! I am obviously swooning over your froyo concoction! pumpkin pie and oatmeal cookie? Yes.
What a great weekend! I love the top and scarf that you purchased! So chic!
That Bieber toothbrush is hysterical. Hahaha.
Happy belated anniversary!!! <3
That tank is cute!
Happy Anniversary! It looks like you guys had a wonderful time; can’t wait to read the rest of the re-cap!
Banana Republic has cute stuff! But I literally only go to their sale wall and that’s it. i refuse to pay regular price.
I totally want everything you got from the outlet! Especially the tank top and scarf! Cute! 🙂
Happy Anniversary! Enjoy your fun weekend.
What a lovely way to spend your anniversary weekend! Especially since you got to do a little shopping amidst spending time with your smokin hot hubby.
P.S. I think I’ll be making a pit-stop at Walgreens tomorrow… gotta get me a Bieber singing toothbrush. I don’t think I’ve seen anything more awesome in all my life 🙂
This is too funny. I’ve totally been to those outlets. My fiance and I visited his grandparents and ended up there one day. Looks like you and Ryan had a great time!
Julie I love that top! I’ve been looking for something with some but not too much lace and that top is just perfect!
I went shopping at the Banana Republic Outlet today too!! Only for unfun work clothes though. Glad you had such a great anniversary! 🙂
Happy Anniversary! I really like that scarf!
Happy Anniversary! I love the Banana Republic Outlets. I would shop there all the time if I could. 🙂
Happy anniversary- so did Ryan LOVE the gift???
Glad you got to see some hockey! Great sport:)
Your weekend looks so fun!! I have that same target dress and I have a question about it- is yours at all tight on your chest? I always wear a small and didn’t try it on at the store, but it’s tight on my chest. I didn’t know if it was supposed to fit like that or if it’s just too small!
the dress is actually my sister’s, but it wasn’t tight on my chest… but then again i don’t really have large boobs… 🙂
haha I don’t either! Who knows? It is cute though!
Happy anniversary! 😀 Sounds like a great time!
I just bought the same infinity scarf in black at the banana outlet yesterday! it was a steal 🙂
Aww! Happy Anniversary! I’m glad you had fun at the hockey game. I am a huge hockey fan and am jealous you got to see the Jets!
The plating of that elk is so pretty! Bummer that the toothbrush didn’t play “One Less Lonely Girl.”
Congrats on your anniversary! What an awesome idea to spend your anniversary at the place you got married! Hope you had a blast!
That looks like a wonderful Anniversary!! And how fun that you had the gift card for Banana! Love your purchases- especially that infinity scarf… I need it! I don’t know where any outlet locations are near me, but I’m determined to find one!
I miss froyo – they need to bring it to Germany, because waiting until I’m back in NC in December is too long! 😛
What a great day! You must feel like you’re on a cloud!
Happy Belated Anniversary Julie & Ryan!! And Many More… 🙂
You look sooooo serioso in the first pic!!! Very ‘un’Julie : )
We have a yogurtology in sarasota (is that the one you went to) and holy jesus i agree that oatmeal cookie is hands down the BEST fro yo flavor everrrr! i also liked the carrot cake one they had but nothing will ever touch the cookie!
I assume you’ve never been to a hockey game before? I LOVE hockey! Like when I make vacation plans and it’s playoff time, I plan when and where the games will be watched. Crazy I know.
Lovely day with the hubby and glad you enjoyed yourselves 🙂 Where’s your blue streak for your hair??
Sounds like the perfect day for an anniversary celebration!
We are so glad you enjoyed your anniversary dinner! Thank you for choosing our restaurant and we hope you celebrate many special occasions with us in the future! Next time you eat at SideBern’s, we can make arrangements for you to head to Bern’s for dessert too.
I love reading your blog! The fact that you’re so local to me (school in Gainesville, Tampa is home base) just makes reading the blog so awesome. And now hockey?! Hockey is my favorite sport EVER and hardly anyone in Florida appreciates it!
I’m so glad your anniversary was spectacular 🙂
