Our first full day together kicked off on Friday morning with a brunch date at our favorite breakfast hotspot in Davidson.
(For the Instagram inquiries: I got my jacket a few years ago from Off 5th *the brand is 5/48* and I couldn’t find it online anymore, but this one and this one look similar! My sweater, scarf and Tart Kacia beanie are from Stitch Fix, and my Marc Jacobs purse was a Christmas present from Ryan last year. Leslie’s jacket is INC from Macy’s and her earrings are from Francesca’s.)
We ate at Toast and Ryan was able to join us on an early lunch break from work. He actually headed to Raleigh after work on Friday for a surprise birthday party for one of his childhood friends, so he was happy to have the chance squeeze in a little quality time with Leslie at brunch, too! After we were done eating omelets and sipping hot coffee, Leslie and I walked around Davidson and I took her in some of my favorite little shops, including the one where I bought my beloved pig painting.
They always have the cutest stuff!
Leslie and I had such a great time running around town and eventually came up with a game plan to finish up a craft project she was working on before grabbing dinner. But first, a furry little lady needed some attention!
We bundled up and took Sadie on a three-mile walk at a local park.
Leslie could not get over the changing leaves and I couldn’t help but feel grateful she was able to visit during this beautiful time of year.
Sadie wasn’t nearly as into the gorgeous scenery as we were because there were sticks everywhere! She was awfully excited when she stumbled upon a gigantic stick that we used to play a few rounds of fetch with her on a sandy beach by the lake.
After our walk, we came home and changed before heading out for a delicious sushi dinner at Eez.
It was tasty but a bit pricy, so we decided to grab a pint of ice cream on the way home rather than order dessert at the restaurant. (I told Leslie she had to try my favorite Can’t Tell Me No Cookie Dough ice cream and she said it was the best cookie dough ice cream she’s ever had. It’s so good!) The minute we walked in the door, we changed into our pajamas and curled up on the couch with our ice cream to watch a movie. It was an ideal Friday night in my eyes!
Now I’m heading out to teach a barbell strength class, but I’ll check back in with you guys later this afternoon. I hope you had a fantastic weekend!

My sister and I share a 9 year difference.
Oh the agony. I grew up a single lonely child.

It’s crazy that you moved to NC and live close enough to Davidson to go all the time! You’ve lived in some of the places I’ve lived (or nearby!) and moved to where we eventually want to be! My SIL and her husband are in Matthews! Basically, your picture posts are making me extremely jealous! haha!

I love Sadie’s sweater 🙂
