I always have random songs pop into my head at work, so having an ongoing list is a great way for me to jot them all down so I don’t forget any of them.
My sister and I are running in a 5k together tomorrow and I want to update my iPod with some new jams. I love running to new, upbeat music on race day. It motivates me and energizes my runs.
(Feel free to leave a nugget in the comments section of this post letting me know which songs you’re loving lately. I’m on the lookout for some great songs to add to my race day playlist for tomorrow!)
On to lunch!
Lunch
Lunch today was a tuna salad wrap with string cheese and a pumpkin spice cookie.
I made the tuna salad by combining the following:
- 1 can tuna
- 1.5 tbsp. light Miracle Whip
- .5 tbsp. mustard
- 1.5 tbsp. relish
- Broccoli slaw
It was deeeelish!
I also swung by Mochi to nab myself a cup of fro yo since it’s Friday and I wanted something a little special. I forgot my camera in my office, but I enjoyed pistachio, peanut butter and taro frozen yogurt topped with cheesecake bites, walnuts, coconut and granola. I want more! 😀
This Weekend
I’m hoping the rest of the work day flies by because this weekend is going to be jam-packed full of wedding and family fun!
Ryan and I are heading to my parents’ house in St. Pete where we’ll re-celebrate his birthday with my family this evening. We have lots of wedding-related to-dos this weekend, so beware of wedding post domination on the blog! Eeeee!
Yum your lunch looks awesome! I ate about 7-9 of those cookies throughout the morning and can’t wait to dominate the rest after work! 🙂 Highly addicting!
Have a great weekend! Hope the weather is nice for you guys. 🙂
That pumpkin spice cookie looks unreal!! Any recipes your recommend for thanksgiving? Us Canadians are celebrating this weekend 🙂
Great idea with the STD (songs to download…haha)! I’m loving the song “Little Lion Man” by Mumford & Sons right now. It’s now brand new, but it’s an awesome running tune! Good luck in your 5k tomorrow! I’m doing my first half on Sunday and will be checking out your half marathon playlist for some new song ideas!
omg LOVINGGGGGGGG this song!
I have a similar STD list! I will forget otherwise. Have fun this weekend! XOXO
You should download Power by Kanye West or Only Girl by Rihanna! Both are great for cardio:)
Looks delicious! Save some room for cake 😉
Those cookies seriously look so good you have inspired me!
love those songs! and i’ll take a cup of the froyo you had too…holy yum!
I love Taro fro yo! Oh and I’m really into that CeeLo Green song, FU. I need to get it on my ipod.
I prefer the clean version to the dirty one.
This is a link to the clean version. Such a good jam! (totally safe to listen to at work)

I have “Dynamite” on my songs to download list too! Right now I’m loving the band, Cage the Elephant, specifically “In One Ear”…your fro-yo sounds delicious. Yogrtland brought out the pumpkin pie flavor and I have a feeling it’s going to turn into a regular weekend indulgence!
I just posted 5 new songs I’m jammin’ to…you might like them.
Also, every once in a while I put together a running playlist and make an iMix out of it on iTunes. If you get a good one, you should do the same and share it!
Flo Rida’s “The Club Can’t Handle Me Right Now”! Yes! And Usher’s “The DJ Got Us Fallin In Love”
🙂
If you listen to country:
Jason Aldean – She’s Country
Justin Moore – How I Got To Be This Way
😉 Good luck to you and your Sis on the 5k tomorrow!
I always write down songs to download too. But unlike yours, mine are just all over the place! In my room for songs I see on HitList; in my car; in my office…
A new song that I’m loving: Rhianna- Only girl in the world
You already have my favorite jam written down! DY-NA-MITE!
Have a great weekend!
“Like I’m The Only Girl In The World” –Rihanna
“Like A G6” –Far East Movement
“La La La” –Auburn
Try those! 🙂 I think they’d be your type of song.
“Celebration” – David Guetta, Madonna, and Akon (GREAT upbeat dance-y cardio song)
“I’m So Paid” – Akon (another good cardio song)
“Mine” – Taylor Swift, just cuz I love her
and I recently rediscovered “Hey Jealousy” by the Gin Blossoms – it’s so catchy 😛
I do that too! I listen to Pandora all day at work and there are always new songs popping up that I want to download! I need to make those cookies! They look SO good…and easy 🙂
Taio Cruz’s whole album is kind of good. But I get really excited when Dynomite comes on. It’s my favorite Zumba song right now.
“World at our feet” – Joe Brooks
All of his songs! But this one I love love love love. He is adorable and you will love his music!

Me and my friend made the pumpkin spice cookies last night…soooooo good! Thanks for sharing that! I usually workout to Lady Gaga or Britney Spears 🙂
Great songs!
I agree with everyone suggesting the Rihanna song! Also, Move Your Feet by Junior Senior. It’s not new, but it rules for motivating me to run!

Just a Dream…..Nelly!

Mmmm pumpkin spice cookies. Right now I’m loving “Internet killed the Video Star” by the Limousines. Have fun at the race!!!
So this is definitely not a new song but I love jogging to Jay-Z/Kanye/Rihanna’s “Run This Town” because of the lyrics – Victory’s within the mile/almost there don’t give up now/only thing that’s on my mind/Is who’s gonna run this town tonight”
I think everybody hit my favorite songs already! I am so with them on “Club Can’t even handle me right Now”, “Like a g6”, “Mine” “Bottom’s up”.
– Other Ones:
-Just the Way You Are : Bruno Mars
– Rock That Body: Black Eyed Peas
– Love Like Woe: The ready Set
– I Want It That Way :N SYNC ( they NEVER will ever get old!) I’m such a fan
hopefully thats a good little list for you.
That’s funny that you write down your “STD”s” my sister does the exact same thing! I sometimes do but by the time I get to a list I forget them!
im sorry but i have to correct you, i want it that way was bsb!!!
Oh, I so approve of your song choices!!! Teenage Dream is such a good song. If you don’t have “Dog Days Are Over” by Florence and the Machine you HAVE to download it! Perfect running song, I mean the chorus starts with “Run fast for your father and fast for your mother. Run for your children for your sisters and brothers.”. How could this not be a good addition to your 5k playlist? lol
“American Boy” by Estelle would be my workout song du-jour if I worked out to music (I swim and cant afford a water MP3..yet).
It’s so nice to see broccoli slaw on a blog…seriosuly! I love that stuff. Love it.
I hadn’t had the tuna idea so thanks.
And for you…I’d recommend doing it up pasta stylee—steam it till good and soft.
Marinara, parm or nutritional yeast…ricotta…bruchetta boca burger…you can do the math. But it’s some good schtuff.
PS–wedding shoes and the bits and pieces of your dress were amazing! You are gonna be so beautiful. What are your colors? I haven’t read much about the avtual “throw-down” I’ll have to read more archives I guess.
~Missy
my colors are white, ivory, cream, yellow & gold. 🙂
I dont know how you feel about music in languages other than English….but I love Alizee (French pop singer) and the Gypsy Kings (melding of latin and arabic) Both have very upbeat tunes and are fun to listen to. Other than that I have a lot of classic rock on my iPod like AC/DC and The Rolling Stones
You do have “Fancy” by Drake don’t you?! It’s the best on the radio now I think 😉
Here’s some that might tickle your fancy:
1) Justin Bieber – you smile I smile
2) Darwin Deez – Constellations
3) Kasabian – LSF
4) Rocko – Maybe
5) Chromeo – Fancy Footwork
6) Black Keyes – Howlin for you
Also, my fiance and I have two vizslas (Enzo & Riley) and I’m so glad I stumbled onto your blog so I can see how another couple keeps up with their energy level!

I’ve observed in the world the present moment, video games are definitely the latest rage with kids of all ages. There are times when it may be impossible to drag your son or daughter away from the video games. If you want the very best of both worlds, there are lots of educational activities for kids. Thanks for your post.
