Ryan and I are lucky to live across the street from our gym, so we sprinted there to avoid too much time in the frigid Florida weather. I had plans to meet a friend for spinning at 6 a.m. and did a quick 10 min. warm up on the stair master before taking the class.
I forgot how much I like spinning. My relationship with spinning is either hot or cold. I go all the time… or not at all. For one reason or another, I will stop taking spinning for a while, then take a class again randomly only to realize what a fantastic work out it can be. The obsession then begins once again.
We’ll see if another spinning love affair is in the works after today’s class!
What workout makes you the sweatiest?
I can run a billion miles but I will still be sweatier and more red in the face following a spinning class. What gives?
Breakfast
Aside from making me drip buckets and buckets of sweat, spinning also makes me hungry.
This morning I enjoyed a big bowl of Flax-Z-Snax hot cereal with several spoonfuls of my homemade microwaveable cranberry sauce swirled in.
(I added more cranberry sauce after this picture. 😉 )
I’m off to make another cup of hot tea! I’m such a baby with this cold weather.

That is so cool you live across from the gym!! Spinning makes me super sweaty, I teach a class called Bodyjam (cardio + dance) that makes me get so hot sometimes I feel like I have a fever, and HIIT always gets me too!!

oh that class sounds awesome! i would LOVE to find another cardio class that can make me sweat like spinning.

I’ve never tried spinning- but it sounds like something I’d like 🙂 I’d have to say running makes me the sweatiest. Actually no, burpees do!

Ugh, I wish that we lived that close to the gym!! The best we have is a part across the street with a good running trail–but it’s too cold in TEXAS to use it right now!!
Love spinning, I’m going to start up again @ my graduate school’s gym in between classes. By far the sweatiest workout. The first time I took a spinning class, I promptly went home and was sick… TMI??
peanutbutterfingers says
i sense some anger about the cold weather in texas… i feel ya! it’s too stinkin’ cold in florida too!
Heather says
Spinning makes me the sweatiest by far, followed closely by step. I think it’s because you’re in a small room with lots of sweaty people and you’re working your butt off!!!
peanutbutterfingers says
i admire people who have the coordination to take step regularly. i wish i had it!

I love spinning.
Spinning definately give me a good work out as well. that’s why I can’t stand it if the sub-instructor is not very good.

I’ve only gone to spin class 3xs in my life. But each time has been an amazing and SWEATY workout. that’s why my goal is to go at least once per month!
You’re so lucky to live across the street from your gym. That might motivate me to workout in the morning!

I haven’t fell in love with spinning yet but my friends say it’s probably the instructor. I’m always looking at the clock and feel sore for a few days afterwards. I like running, it’s probably my favorite sweaty workout…especially because my gym is always so hot!!
Kelly says
I have done spin classes a lot but I never really enjoy it. I don’t know why…I am just such a runner that I don’t really like any other form of cardio…unbalanced maybe? haha! But one of my friend’s teaches a 90 minutes edurance spin class and I make myself go once a week just to use different muscles.

I miss spinning, I’m going to the low budget gym right now though… aka only machines, no classes. When I was in college we had an awesome spinning instructor, I would occassionally do his classes back to back on the weekends (ie two hours of spinning!)
My splurge lately has been kettlebell classes which I love love love! Also goes well with all the running I usually do too.
