I knew I wanted to continue teaching group exercise classes when we first moved to North Carolina, but since I wasn’t sure where we were going to end up living while we were in temp housing, I held off and didn’t start looking for a job until we found our new home and officially moved in last month.
I’m looking forward to some new challenges and breaking out of my comfort zone a bit. I’ve never taught a pre-designed class like PiYo before and since learning choreography is very difficult for me, I’m hoping I can pick it up without becoming too frustrated! For those of you out there who may be used to learning choreography, I’d love to hear any tips and tricks you might have for committing everything to memory. Practice, practice, practice is pretty much my only thought at the moment!
Homemade Starbucks Spinach Feta Wrap Recipe
I have a yummy breakfast recipe to share with you guys today. It’s inspired by my favorite breakfast wrap from Starbucks and is really easy to make… Just like nearly every recipe I share on this blog. Simple recipes are the way to go!
This recipe requires a small handful of ingredients that you can easily find at your local grocery store.
I tried to make sure to combine all of the important flavors from my favorite wrap to get as close to the real deal as possible. Fresh spinach, crumbled feta cheese and sundried tomatoes add a serious punch of flavor to the wrap!
After checking out the ingredient list on Starbucks’ website to see what is used to make the original wrap, I saw that sundried tomato cream cheese was used, but since I could not find that at my grocery store, I used a wedge of The Laughing Cow Creamy Mozzarella Sun-Dried Tomato & Basil cheese instead.
You can easily substitute veggie or sun-dried tomato cream cheese if you have it on hand though! Just don’t skip this step because it definitely adds to the flavor of the wrap!

This recipe took about seven minutes to make. Not too shabby! It can also easily be prepared the night before and frozen or refrigerated for an easy reheat-and-eat morning meal. I’m thinking I may make a bigger batch of them next time so I can have a few on hand to quickly microwave for an easy breakfast option in the future.
Get in my belly!
Thanks for the recipe! I love wraps for breakfast. Very filling. Enjoy your Tuesday!
Yum! I love that wrap from Starbucks and I almost always have spinach and feta in the house. Thanks for sharing!
Hope you love it!! 🙂
I have been teaching choreographed classes for three years and I don’t have a tip for memorization but I will say in time it gets so much easier to Learn it used to take me hours to learn one track and three years later I can learn a track in less then an hour, it’s super time consuming in the beginning but it does get better.
This gives me hope! Thank you!
This looks SO good. I’ve never tried any of the breakfast wraps at Starbucks, but I’m pretty positive I’d love this one!
Yum! I love spinach and egg white omelets, adding sun dried tomatoes to the mix sounds delicious.
I’ve never tried Starbucks wrap actually. I always see you post them but haven’t got around to trying. I will definitely make this myself at home though. YUM!
I’ve never tried the Starbucks version, but I do love sundried tomatoes!
YUM!!! love to recreate my favs at home 🙂
Oh! Gonna have to try this out when I make Brian his next breakfast 🙂 He loves a good breakfast burrito and this would be a good change from the usual!
Yummm! I keep meaning to try those little baby bell wedges, this is a great opportunity!
Looks like another one of your recipes is popular!

yum! I’ve been LOVING eggs so much lately and I love sundried tomatoes so I may have to get in the kitchen and play around myself soon! 🙂
Thanks for sharing! I love this wrap at Starbucks.
Yum! I need to try this recipe. I have most of the ingredients on hand 🙂 I also love the idea of making a large batch and freezing them for an easy weekday breakfast.
I’ve never tried this wrap at Starbucks, but it always looks delicious! I’m not a HUGE tomato fan, so I’m wondering if a possible substitute would be roasted red peppers….just not sure how the cheese spread would taste with the peppers….
Oooh, I think that would be amazing, too!
Definitely trying out that recipe! It looks awesome & super duper yummy!!!
The make ahead wraps are a great idea! I have done it in the past with breakfast sandwiches for my husband but I have never thought to do it for wraps. (light-bulb moment!) Congrats again on the teaching gig. I honestly wished we lived closer to Charlotte because I would love to go!
I love breakfast wraps and I can’t wait to try this one! Seems like a quick and easy go-to after a morning workout 🙂
Sometimes I find the food at Starbucks to be a little too ‘over microwaved’. I think making these at home would be a great idea, it looks delicious.
Hi-i am trying your soy sauce chicken dish you posted about the other day tonight. I am so excited. It’s marinating at home now!
Awesome!! Hope you like it, Ashley!
This looks so good Julie! I love the Starbucks version so I’m definitely going to give this a try. Good thinking on the Laughing Cow cheese!!
I love this wrap at Starbucks, but this looks better! Much more fresh!
This looks delicious. Sun-dried tomatoes have been my favorite addition to my dinner dishes as of late! They add a whole new, different dimension of flavor.
starbucks does make a mean breakfast. i love their turkey bacon sandwich!
Hi Julie! Learning choreography takes time to master, and you’ll get better at it as you go. I teach three pre-designed Les Mills programs, and I’ve been doing it for almost six years. Here are some of my tips on how to learn choreography: http://aladygoeswest.com/2014/03/18/how-to-learn-les-mills-choreography/ Good luck!! Looking forward to learning more about PiYo.
Thank you for sharing this, Ashley!!
Congrats on the fitness classes! I`ve been teaching choreographed classes for six years now and LOVE it (Les Mills programs). Learning chorey comes easily to me, but I`ve definitely developed a few small “tips“. Usually, the choreography is in blocks, which repeat based on the song (the verse has a set of moves, and the chorus has a set of moves, etc.). Learning in blocks like that is usually easiest as your memory is set up to chunk information together better. So, look at the tracks as different sets of work put together.
Most importantly – spend a lot of time just listening to the music. By memorizing the changes and knowing when they`ll come will make it so much easier to match the moves to the section of the song. I listen to the music non-stop before even looking at the moves. Knowing the music inside and out will alleviate any second guessing you have when teaching the class.
Hope it helps!!
~Ash
Can’t agree with you more Ash! I teach zumba and knowing your music is a HUGE benefit to memorizing choreography. I was going to say the exact same thing.
This looks fabulous! And way better than the Starbucks version. (I say this as a huge fan of their products.) Thanks for sharing!
Mmmmm… this looks so easy and yummy to make. I really like Starbucks wraps but don’t like spending an arm and a leg each time I go. Thanks for sharing, now I can make it at home! 🙂
I know for learning things, I have to write it out. I imagine it is the same thing for memorizing choreography. Write out the main points of each move.
They say to imagine the whole thing in your mind makes an athlete perform better at their sport. And remember whatever the phrases are that go with the movements, or give them silly names in your head, kinda like the way you remember someone’s name.
The military does acronyms for every movement, that’s how they remember what comes next. Or silly phrases that make things go together…internal combustion: suck, squeeze, bang, blow
I love the Starbucks Spinach Feta wrap, as its very filling. The recipe is pretty easy .. will give it a try asap. Thanks of the recipe
I had that wrap recently but didn’t realize sundries tomatoes were in it. Yum! I love re-creating restaurants and putting my own spin on them too.
One of my friends passed this article on to me a few weeks ago, and maybe you’ll find it helpful with learning choreography? The article itself is more geared towards dance, but I imagine the overall concepts may apply to something like PiYo as well: http://www.rockettes.com/dance/dance-hacks-how-to-learn-choreography-faster.html
Yum this looks so good and easy to make! Eggs and feta are always a winning combo!
Hi Julie! Thanks for always posting such great stuff. I am considering pursing the AFAA cert that you have and I am wondering if you might consider a post about how the CEU’s work for maintaining your certification. I know that you get awarded CEU’s when you get your certification initially, and then you also have to get a certain number every 2 years. Do those initial 5 count towards that total for your first 2 years? Do you have to get a certain number before you can teach? What are you planning to do for your CEU’s?
Thanks for considering Julie!
Carrie
I can’t wait to give this a try! I love the Starbucks version, but I find that because its so processed, I’m starving 30 minutes after I eat it! I think this will definitely be MORE delicious and WAY more satisfying. 🙂
I travel for work, and this is usually my go-to breakfast choice. I’ve thought about recreating it at home before, so thank you for doing all of the research for us! 🙂
Oh my gosh: I love you! This has literally been my go to Starbucks breakfast this summer with all the traveling and weddings I went to. To me it weirdly tastes like the english muffin pizzas I made as a kid. Any breakfast that is healthy and tastes like pizza to me is good!
I like the idea to using laughing cow cheese in place of cream cheese, however, if you have an Einstein’s Bagels near you they have killer sun dried tomato cream cheese in store (I may try both!).
Yay!! 🙂 And I’ll definitely look for that cream cheese. 🙂
this looks delicious! Thanks for sharing! I just tried your three minute oatmeal recipe and loved it!
I just had one of these at Starbucks a few weeks ago. However, your homemade version sounds even better. Do you think it would travel well? I’m always looking for grab-and-go breakfasts.
How did you know I needed this recipe?! Thank you for sharing! Glad to know it is freezable. So helpful!
Ha! Hope you enjoy it! 🙂
This is one of my favorites – I used to make it all the time!
Hi Julie! I danced from the ages of 2 – 18 and remembering choreo didn’t come naturally to me. One thing that always helped me was to “sing” or say the moves along with the counts (Ex: Kick, two three four, turn!). And if there was one move/section that i really struggled with, i would make up a funny name for the move…from then on I wouldn’t forget it! I still remember this day calling a set of arm movments the “shampooo conditioner blowdry”. 🙂
Hi! When I started teaching choreographed fitness classes, it really helped me to learn the music before adding the choreography. I listed to the music all the time – in the car, while I ran, and in my office. I’m not sure if that applies to Piyo, but good luck! I’ve been thinking about getting back into teaching, I’m looking forward to hearing about your certification experience.
I Have been teaching les mills rpm (cycling) for 2 years now. I remember how daunting the choreography was to learn at first…now I can learn a whole class in an hour or so (unless I’m just refreshing on stuff I’ve used before). The trick for me was to learn the patterns in each track. They’re there and make it so much easier! Good luck!
What a brilliant copy-cat recipe! sandwhiches and wraps are a no-brainer. I wish I thought of this! 🙂 how about a copy cat low sugar frappachino recipe?
This sounds delicious! I love the Starbucks wraps and breakfast sandwiches, but they are way to expensive to go super often. I tried something similar but I did not have sundried tomatoes. So, instead of those, I added some salsa to add extra flavor to the wrap.
Also, Congratulations on teaching classes again! That is very exciting! I’m sure you will pick it up quick! I would love to get involved like you and teach classes for students at my school! I think it would be a lot of fun.
If you want to learn choreography fast, make it into 8-counts like we use to do for ballet and tap classes! I think that is definitely the easiest way to form a beat and memorize you moves.
this sounds amazing! I know you’ve talked about this wrap a bunch but I still haven’t tried it at Starbucks. I didn’t know it had sun-dried tomatoes but I love that!
Ohh that looks delish! Love a breakfast wrap. I don’t have any advice for you on the choreography, but I know that anytime I over practice or prepare something, I am always glad that I did. Even if you don’t execute everything perfectly, being prepared helps you handle the hiccups better as they happen. You have such a bright and sunny disposition, I’m sure any mistakes you make along the way will barely be noticeable!
Yum! I get these at least once a week from Starbucks. It drives me crazy that they are often cold in the center, though I love the flavor. Will definitely be trying this recipe out. You mentioned freezing if you want to make extra ahead. What is the best way to reheat evenly without it becoming soggy?
You are officially obsessed with that wrap 😉 How do you keep your tortillas from getting… moist in the fridge? I keep them in the ziplock bag they come in, but they usually get condensation. PS- Congrats on the teaching job!!
