Thanks so much for all of you well wishes following my post about my trip to the emergency room on Saturday night. It was definitely an unnerving experience, but I’m glad it wasn’t any worse. After resting most of the day yesterday, I am feeling much better today!
Workout
My Monday began as usual with an early morning workout that focused on my legs. I kept cardio on the lighter side and completed a 10 minute elliptical warm up and cool down.
The lower body strength portion of my workout included squats, dead lifts, lunges, leg extensions and hamstring stability ball curls. It was a good one!
I will be heading back to the gym as soon as this blog post is published for work. I am subbing for another group exercise instructor today and hope it goes well!
Breakfast
The highlight of my morning meal was almond butter!
Last night I prepped a bowl of overnight oats and stirred a small spoonful of almond butter into the mix. This morning, I added another scoop on top and loved the addition of the creamy nut butter!
Nice and filling!
Now it’s time for a fun giveaway for those of you out there who may be interested in starting your own blog!
Start Blogging Now
Every single day, I receive emails from people who want to begin blogging but don’t know where to start. They’re excited, enthusiastic and completely overwhelmed. I typed up my Blog Talk Tuesdays series to help address the most common questions I receive, but when it comes to coding and all that jazz, most questions are way over my head.
When my friend and go-to web guy, Tim, emailed me about his new business, I knew I want to help spread the word. Tim is so, so knowledgeable and explains things in a way that makes them easy to understand which, as someone who is extremely intimidated by html coding and website set up, I really appreciate!
Tim recently launched Start Blogging Now, a six-week program detailing everything you need to know about setting up a blog, self-hosting, great plug-ins, high-quality themes, SEO, social media and more.
Each week there will be an in-depth video for participants to download and watch at their own pace or as often as needed. In addition, there will be written instructions, helpful links, and any necessary files that may be needed.
Here are the topics for each week:
The program also includes a weekly conference call to answer any lingering questions.
For the first 100 people who sign up, the program is $70, 50 percent off the normal enrollment price of $140. Tim also offers a 30-day money back guarantee, so if you are not satisfied halfway through the course, you can request a refund.
The first session will begin on August 1 and one PBF reader will win free access to the program!
To enter this giveaway, simply comment below, telling me what excites you the most about blogging. I will randomly select a winner on Tuesday.
Good luck!
EB @ Running on E says
That is a great giveaway. I think I would be most excited to learn about self hosting and becoming less afraid of html.
Jill says
Wow, thanks for the giveaway. I’ve been wanting to start a blog for a LONG time now, but keep holding off. Mainly because I have no targeted focus…I have about 2 very different focus areas that I’d like to pursue and not sure about blending them (professionally or personally, etc) but the idea of 2 separate blogs is just a little too complicated, you know?
I think I’d rather just start off with a wordpress one either way simply because I’d want to explore everything before committing to a full name and domain name etc. I know nothing about SEO and all that stuff and likely would be way too overwhelmed to even think about that as just a beginner when its probably better to just “feel” it out first.
Laura says
The most exciting thing about blogging to me is it gives the writer the ability to pass on passions, ideas, and great finds to a larger audience then possible without the blog. In other words, greats finds are shared with an unlimited amount if people!
Jackie Macharsky says
I would love to win this! I would love to give my blog a facelift!
Rachel J says
Great giveaway! My favorite thing that excites me about blogging is interacting with the blogging community!
Kayla says
This sounds like an excellent giveaway! I have been thinking about starting a blog for at least over a year however I am very computer inept. I have a hard time getting started because I am nervous and do not know where to begin. This would be a great way to get my blog started and to hopefully be able to interact with a community of people. If my blog brings a smile to one persons face then it would be so worth it!
Janelle says
What excites me most is the opportunity to write! Ever since I first picked up a pencil, I have loved to write. I have started multiple blogs in the past, but none of them garnered much of an audience, and I felt intimidated – what do I have to say that no one else has said? But I’d love to start my own blog about books I’m reading and my own fitness journey. Thanks for hosting a giveaway – even if I don’t win, I may still enroll because it sounds like just what I need to start blogging for real this time!
Tracy says
My sister has a blog on renter decorating an I love I see the projects she puts up. Im sure she would be interested in this and I would love to win this for her!

I love the tips and inspiration it gives to the readers!
Jess says
In all honesty, peoples comments and insight on my posts are what excites me the most! I learn so much from my followers and I deeply appreciate the fact that they take time to read my thoughts and emotions that I put down in each post. It means a great deal to me.
Emily @SinfulNutrition says
My favorite part of blogging is how it connects you to people all over the world and form a lot of great friendships. Thanks for the awesome giveaway! : )

I love blogging due to the fact that I have control. All my life, I have struggled with trying to gain control in the right ways. Through blogging, I am able to express how I feel and help others when needed. I can write on it as little or as much as I’d like, and the more work I put in, the better it gets. Hence why I am entering in this giveaway. Every piece of information helps 🙂

I’m a college student who has absolutely no direction in what I want to do. I know I love to write, and after reading your blog I absolutely LOVE this community! I’m hoping by starting my own blog I can develop a better understanding of what it is that would make me happy in terms of career/lifestyle through feedback, and eventually be able to help people in the same boat as me. 🙂
Shawn says
I started blogging simply because I was reading way to many blogs and thought I’d give it a go. I’m still a newbie blogger, but I’m already loving it. Connecting with other bloggers, as well as family and friends is my fave part.

Week 5 and 6 topics are right up my alley! I just switched to self hosting and have a pretty good hang on everything. I would love to figure out how to get the word out there a big more!

I kept a blog when I studied abroad last year, but stopped when I got back because I didn’t have a specific focus. I’d love to get back into it and write about food, running, travel, and school! The best part would be meeting other bloggers and having that community… Blogger meet ups always look like so much fun!
Heather @HeatherRunsFast.com says

I’ve been a blog reader for maybe 5 years now. I always say I’m going to start one (I have tons of great ideas and love to write!) but never do because I get overwhelmed quickly when it comes to “tech talk” lol. 🙂
This sounds like something I would really benefit from.

In November I started a WordPress blog about being a college student with Crohn’s disease, but, admittedly, I’ve been bad about updating it lately. My favorite thing about blogging, especially with a specific topic like mine, is getting to meet like-minded people and sharing advice with them. It’s an unparalleled feeling when sometime leaves a comment saying your blog helped them–that’s what makes me want to keep at it!
Molly says
My favorite part about blogging is being able to connect with tons of different people from all across the world that share the same interests as you. The blogging community is awesome!

I am pretty lost when it comes to blogging, as mine certainly shows, but I love reading other people’s blogs for healthy living ideas and just to see all the joy that everyone has in their lives! I want my blog to do that for others….but I definitely need a lot of help!

This is an awesome idea for a giveaway…and just an awesome idea in general. What excites me most about blogging is meeting other college students with very similar interests in goals in life as me–you don’t find a ton of college students interested in food or nutrition, or at least I don’t, so I love being able to connect with some who are!
Amanda says
I think the most exciting thing about blogging would be meeting people through the internet who share the same hobbies, interests, and passions! It also wouldn’t hurt to become a little more computer savvy!
