Thanks so much for all of you well wishes following my post about my trip to the emergency room on Saturday night. It was definitely an unnerving experience, but I’m glad it wasn’t any worse. After resting most of the day yesterday, I am feeling much better today!

Workout

My Monday began as usual with an early morning workout that focused on my legs. I kept cardio on the lighter side and completed a 10 minute elliptical warm up and cool down.

The lower body strength portion of my workout included squats, dead lifts, lunges, leg extensions and hamstring stability ball curls. It was a good one!

I will be heading back to the gym as soon as this blog post is published for work. I am subbing for another group exercise instructor today and hope it goes well!

Breakfast

The highlight of my morning meal was almond butter!

Last night I prepped a bowl of overnight oats and stirred a small spoonful of almond butter into the mix. This morning, I added another scoop on top and loved the addition of the creamy nut butter!

    What most excites me is learning to find “me” through my blog. Writing about my daily experiences and learning new things is constantly teaching me something new about myself that I didn’t know I loved or appreciated about myself! It’s like a personal journey!

I love reading about other peoples blogs and kind of relating or learning something new that I otherwise wouldn’t have known!     As a full time middle school teacher, my extra time is very limited! I want to start a blog to share positive experiences and healthy choices with others, and to learn through other people’s interaction with my posts. Starting a blog would be a great way for me to connect with others. Since my job is so consuming, trying to piece all the blog start up information together has been overwhelming and it would be so useful to have a program like Start Blogging Now to streamline everything. I’m going to Spain for a year so I started my blog predominantly for my travels and experiences abroad. However, I want to make this a lifestyle blog and continue it after I return.     I love blogging, it’s created such an amazing outlet for me and I can’t even begin to explain the amount of friendships and support I’ve gained from blogging, having said that I definitely struggle with the other aspects of blogging that happen behind the scenes and I’d love to get excited about that part of blogging and really understand how to run a blog properly!

    I own a small farm with a few horses, but I live in a “big” city about an hour and a half away. I’ve always thought about starting a blog primarily to show people that if they want to own or move to a small farm, it’s totally do-able and they shouldn’t be intimidated by it. That, included with a little bit of everyday stuff about life and fitness, I thought would give me plenty to write about and hopefully show anyone who has a dream of having a farm can totally do it.

    Hi Julie,

    I was reading your post about your allergic reaction. The first time I every drank red wine I had the same reaction. Luckily it has never happened to that extent again, but certain wines still make my hands and feet feel very VERY hot and puffy. Wine contains several components that can trigger an allergic reaction such as sulfites, histamines and tannins. Perhaps you drank a wine that had a particularly high concentration of one of these components trigger your first severe allergic reaction. Even drinking the same glass of red wine you always drink could trigger a histamine reaction if, for example you are suffering from seasonal allergies at the time and have a histamine intolerance. If you google histamine intolerance or sulfite allergies along with wine you can find many interesting articles on the subject. Hope you find this information interesting and glad that you are feeling better.

    I like to put almond butter or peanut into my morning oatmeal too. It really sticks with me throughout the day! I’ve been blogging off and on for a while now but more consistently as of lately. I really like blogging because it helps me remember everything I have to be thankful for!

    When I started reading health blogs, I found blogs (such as this one) with people who inspired to live a healthy life with a balance. I struggled with some obsession over exercise and strict healthy eating and finding these blogs has served as an educative resource that you CAN live with a balance and be healthy. With that said, I want to be that source for people, documenting cool, fun workouts while sharing a bit about who I am. I have started one but I am not very educated about how to keep it going! This program would be awesome!

    What excites me most about blogging is to be able to put out and share your passion with whoever else shares that same passion over the internet! You get to reach a lot of people and become connected with so many more around the world through blogging. I have been journaling about my mostly healthy, natural lifestyle which includes yoga, vegan eating and home made face masks, dry body brushing, etc. and I would love to put it in a blog.     My husband and I have a farm and raise draft mules along with cattle and hay. I would love to start writing about farm life and getting the word out there to help (still) support small family farms! So far I use facebook but have begun a website for the business but there is a blog option available. It would be interesting to try it out!
