Thanks so much for all of you well wishes following my post about my trip to the emergency room on Saturday night. It was definitely an unnerving experience, but I’m glad it wasn’t any worse. After resting most of the day yesterday, I am feeling much better today!
Workout
My Monday began as usual with an early morning workout that focused on my legs. I kept cardio on the lighter side and completed a 10 minute elliptical warm up and cool down.
The lower body strength portion of my workout included squats, dead lifts, lunges, leg extensions and hamstring stability ball curls. It was a good one!
I will be heading back to the gym as soon as this blog post is published for work. I am subbing for another group exercise instructor today and hope it goes well!
Breakfast
The highlight of my morning meal was almond butter!
Last night I prepped a bowl of overnight oats and stirred a small spoonful of almond butter into the mix. This morning, I added another scoop on top and loved the addition of the creamy nut butter!
Nice and filling!
Now it’s time for a fun giveaway for those of you out there who may be interested in starting your own blog!
Start Blogging Now
Every single day, I receive emails from people who want to begin blogging but don’t know where to start. They’re excited, enthusiastic and completely overwhelmed. I typed up my Blog Talk Tuesdays series to help address the most common questions I receive, but when it comes to coding and all that jazz, most questions are way over my head.
When my friend and go-to web guy, Tim, emailed me about his new business, I knew I want to help spread the word. Tim is so, so knowledgeable and explains things in a way that makes them easy to understand which, as someone who is extremely intimidated by html coding and website set up, I really appreciate!
Tim recently launched Start Blogging Now, a six-week program detailing everything you need to know about setting up a blog, self-hosting, great plug-ins, high-quality themes, SEO, social media and more.
Each week there will be an in-depth video for participants to download and watch at their own pace or as often as needed. In addition, there will be written instructions, helpful links, and any necessary files that may be needed.
Here are the topics for each week:
The program also includes a weekly conference call to answer any lingering questions.
For the first 100 people who sign up, the program is $70, 50 percent off the normal enrollment price of $140. Tim also offers a 30-day money back guarantee, so if you are not satisfied halfway through the course, you can request a refund.
The first session will begin on August 1 and one PBF reader will win free access to the program!
To enter this giveaway, simply comment below, telling me what excites you the most about blogging. I will randomly select a winner on Tuesday.
Good luck!

I love your blog and would really love to start my own, but am so overwhelmed from all the information that people keep telling me! I would want a blog so that I can share my love of healthy cooking and baking, especially for people with food allergies, like me!

Every day I have a topic to write about and know its something I want to get started with, but the getting started is always the hardest part!! I’m new to running (1.5 years) and know that all someone like me needs to start is someone with similar stories and starting point to give them the push to sign up for that first race or push themselves through that first 5 min running interval in couch to 5k!
Kaci says
I love reading your blog and other blogs because they inspire me to be healthier and more active. I’d love to be someone’s inspiration! That’s why I would want to blog 🙂

I started reading blogs about a year ago and have thought more and more about starting my own. I’m excited to see if it will help me to stay accountable to myself and the plans I have. And if just one of my posts helped just one person, I cannot begin to imagine how great that would feel.

I have been telling myself for the past year that I’m going to start a blog…so this post has so much meaning behind it for me! I have trained, taught fitness classes, instructed undergrad exercise science courses, and now work as a corporate well was coach for multiple companies…needless to say, my love and passion for healthy living is something I want to be able to share that much more of!!! I need guidance, the know how, and a final P-U-S-H to get me there 😉 This would be AwEsOmE!!!

My little ol’ blog could certainly use the help of something like Tim’s program- it sounds incredibly informative! What I love about blogging is knowing that I’ve been able to connect a little piece of the authentic, genuine me to someone else… through the internet! Whether it be my parents when I’m far from home, my boyfriend when he’s bored at work, or (on the extremely off chance that someone else looks at my blog) a new blogging-buddy, I love knowing I can share my life with others.
PS: your almond butter overnight oats are kiiind of making me want to crawl out of bed and make some for a delicious start to tomorrow 🙂

There are several things that I love about blogging, but I think the best part is *meeting* like-minded individuals throughout the community. I think my starting a blog–and reading others, including your own–has helped me stay accountable with exercise, and of course I’ve discovered some of my favorite foods through blogging. I would LOVE to learn more about self-hosting, transferring existing content, and overall design.

What a cool giveaway! I just started following you last week and love your blog!
I’ve been writing my blog a while but just recently have gotten so into the online community of bloggers and how fun it is to follow along with people’s stories as well as how nice and supportive everyone is – particularly in the health and fitness blogging realm.
Kate says
I think blogging is exciting because it’s a way to share information and knowledge with other people that hasn’t been around for a long time. I’ve learned a lot about healthy living and more through reading blogs: I’ve discovered types of exercise, recipes, books, and points of view that I doubt I would have come into contact with on my own! I’d love to be able to find a creative way to share part of my life with others because I feel I have gained so much from reading about other people’s lives, but I feel like starting a blog is such a big leap – getting help in doing so would be fantastic!
Jessie says

Great giveaway!

Hi Julie, what an amazing thing to share thank you. After reading all your blog talk Tuesdays I FINALLY got brave enough to start a “healthy living” blog 1 month ago after 2 years of wanting to start one! What has been the most fun and most motivating is the comments from friends and strangers who have gained some inspiration from one of my posts! Being able to inspire others to do something healthy for themselves is the best feeling in the world. It’s exactly what I wanted! As far as blogging logistics go… I’ve changed my theme I don’t know how many times, bought premium packages, and had my fair share of formatting disaster posts so I would love to win this package so I can keep on inspiring!
Caitlin says
I love blogging and sharing my recipe ideas/restaurant reviews; it’s really a passion that I’ve never had the chance to explore before I started my blog! It makes me incredibly proud and happy…even if I’m still learning the ropes. This sounds like the perfect package for a newbie blogger like me!

I would love to win this give away! A few months ago I started up my blog , but am soooooo not tech savy and my blog needs a makeover/facelift in a bad way. My family and friends read my blog, but I am striving to get more readers, but have no idea how. In addition, I am lacking knowledge on how to make the appearance nicer. I would find use in this giveaway big time! I find blogging exciting because I am able to share my knowledge I have attained over the years with others who are looking to make positive changes in their lives.

The possibilities, the community and the removal of geographical and socialistic boundaries. My blog and I have gone through alot together, sometimes I am not as attentive as I ‘should’ be but I always come back and I always feel more balanced and complete when I blog regularly. Although reading that back it sounds a bit weird lol.
