Saturday
Our weekend began on Saturday morning with coffee, collagen baked oatmeal (yep, even Chase eats it but he likes his topped with a drizzle of maple syrup) and some random home organization projects. Eventually our crew was ready for some fun outside of the house and headed off to the YMCA.
Ryan and I worked out while the boys had fun in childcare and I ended up going through the following arm workout circuit that combined strength exercises, bodyweight exercises and a few plyometric exercises.
It was a good one and I’m keeping this one on hand for the future, especially since it’s one I could easily do at home with a set of dumbbells, though I’d substitute regular mountain climbers for the wall handstand mountain climbers to protect our walls!
Once we scooped Chase and Ryder up from childcare, we gave the boys snacks and made our way to the park across the street. (Note to self: Do not pack baby food pouches with beets in them for Ryder on the go. What a mess!)
The weather this weekend was fantastic and sunny and we spent as much of our Saturday outside as possible! After park playtime, we made our way home and Ryder took a nap while we all ate lunch and then did some work out in the yard with the baby monitor in tow. Sadie ran around and Chase used his gloves and shovel to dig and look for earth worms. Clearly we were all excited for such a beautifully sunny day in the beginning of February.
I also took advantage of Ryder’s nap time to get ready for the dinner plans we had on our agenda for the evening and then we played in the backyard and ran around outside again until our babysitter arrived in the early evening.
(Chase took the above picture of me and Ryder and I am becoming more and more impressed with his photography skills with my “fancy camera.” He’s so into it!)
I was able to nurse Ryder and get him down for the night before we left which made things feel a little easier for us (this was actually our first time using a babysitter since Ryder was born) and we hugged Chase goodbye and headed off to Fin and Fino, a seafood restaurant located in the middle of the city.
We met up with six of our closest friends for dinner and drinks and had the BEST time. We usually all hang out together with our kids in the mix so it was really fun to be able to let loose a bit and talk without any interruption for hours. We ended up extending our night a bit after dinner and made our way to Golden Cow Creamery for ice cream before walking next door to Wooden Robot, a local brewery, where we spent the rest of the night before heading back home.
Sunday
Sunday morning began on a bit of a rough note. As Chase was walking down the final two stairs of our hardwood staircase, Sadie flew down the stairs and bumped him so he ended up falling down the final two steps. I think it scared Chase more than anything (and us — Ryan and I were both terrified at first!) but he has a pretty decent bruise and is now telling his fall story over and over. He always concludes it with the fact that Sadie came over to him wagging her tail after he stopped crying to say she was sorry. Poor guy!
We didn’t end up making it out the door in time for church after the whole fall ordeal so we figured we’d round up our crew and head outside for a morning walk around the neighborhood before Ryder’s morning nap instead.
A lot of people clearly had the same idea because it seemed like the whole neighborhood was out and about. We couldn’t get enough of the sunshine this weekend!
By the time we made it home, Ryder was ready for his nap and Ryan and Chase played soccer while I placed an InstaCart order. After ordering a number of InstaCart deliveries last year, I accepted the free trial membership they offer to everyone and ended up loving it too much not to spend the $99 and extended my membership for the year. I can already tell it was a fantastic decision because it freed up time for us this weekend and saved me time during the week when we were out of a few essentials. I also feel like the more I use InstaCart the better I get at it as a shopper if that makes any sense. I leave notes under certain items and love the way my recent purchases pop up and make selecting our grocery items easier each time.
Our groceries arrived around lunchtime and I used them to make us sandwiches and smoothies before we tried our best to get both boys down for a nap at the same time. They were both in their rooms for about 60 minutes which felt like a mini victory and then once they were up we spent the rest of the evening close to home, watching the Super Bowl and calling it an early night.
And now I’m off to get this Monday rockin’! I hope you all had a good weekend!

I totally would have spent the weekend outside too! I’m so glad the groundhog has predicted a short winter 🙂 I’ll be ao happy if he’s right!! We’re due for a short winter. Last winter was rough.
I’m glad Chase is okay. Kids are so resilient, thankfully. I remember my older daughter falling from a playset ladder and landing on her head/side and she ended up being fine. I was so panicked though.

Love your jumpsuit! Nights out with friends are essential! Putting on makeup and getting dressed up can make us feel so much more human 😉

Love this! Is there any way you can do a short video or photos showcasing what those moves look like in your workout? Like what is a donkey kick burpee? and the mountain climbers you mention? Thank you! That would be SO helpful!

I need to finally sign up for an Instacart membership! I use it every week and I’m not sure what took me so long!

Oh my goodness, Ryder is the spitting image of Ryan’s dad!

I just want to say that your street looks perfect for stroller walks 🙂 I miss the trees and hills of AR and TN now that I’m down here in TX and things are flat as flat can be! Also lovvvve that pic of you and Ryder – framer!

Such adorable pictures! I just love them! My dog pushed me down the stairs when I was one (the whole way down). I was fine but after my mom yelled at him he never went upstairs ever again! And he lived for 16 more years! I tried to get him to go upstairs once but he refused. He was just our “downstairs” dog. After three days snowed in with my 3 year old and eight year old, yesterday’s weather was such a nice change. We took a walk in the morning and went to the park in the afternoon. What a difference being outside makes!

Has Ryder had a rough time with childcare at the Y? My 7 month old gets so upset as soon as I hand him off. My workouts last maybe 15 minutes before one of the workers comes to tell me he can’t calm down.

Just stopping in to say I did the single/single/double OH press tonight and man, it was tough! Happy to add a new challenge to my usual routine. Thanks for sharing!
