The princess…
And the pee.
No, not pea.
PEE.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, my dog likes to potty all the time.
Sadie’s pea-sized bladder was the bane of our run today.
We set out to complete our usual five-mile loop, only my lovely running buddy decided she was going to pop a squat every half of a mile or so. We stopped at least 10 times for her to do her business. It was definitely more of a stop-start run than a fluid one.
I don’t mind stopping every now and then for Sadie’s potty breaks, but 10 times in less than 50 minutes felt a bit excessive. The air was also thick with humidity and I felt like every time we stopped, I started pouring sweat. For some reason the sweat doesn’t bother me when I’m running, but the minute I stop, I feel like the water works start and I am drenched.
Another thing I find odd? Where I sweat.
My face is literally soaked and my chest sweats like crazy, but my arm pits are completely dry. What gives? Apparently I need face and inter-boobie deodorant.
Breakfast
Post run, I came home and had one thing on the brain: Dippy eggs.
I topped one half of a toasted Thomas’ cinnamon raisin bagel thin with raspberry jelly and another half with a dippy egg and enjoyed my plate along with a cup of Greek yogurt and a hot mug of coffee.
Take that, hungry tummy.
Dippy eggs seriously rock.

Coming Up
Aaand get ready for the big announcement post later today! Now that things are all sorted out personally, I’m finally ready to blog about a big change that’s happenin’ in our lives.
Aine @ Something to Chew Over says
Can’t wait for the announcement! 🙂
Erin @ The Grass Skirt says
My dog stops a million times to do her business too! Only she poops… I wish it were pee! It is really annoying because I usually only have one bag to scoop it up, Sometimes I stand next to her yelling, “Again?! Seriously?!!!” My neighbors probably think I am insane.
Shannon says
Oof! I am the same way, my face sweats an insane amount, but pits are dry! And when I am in the workout, I’m all – YAH SWEAT IT OUT, GO ME! And then I am done and I am all – eeewww look how soggy I am!
Hence my name! I’m a SweatyGirl! 🙂
Julie says
on the sweating thing…you’re not alone! my face is always dripping when i leave the gym and my chest is SOAKED…ugh, I feel so disgusting-but at least it’s worth it 🙂
Gina @ Running to the Kitchen says
Humid runs are the worst. I feel like I need 20 minutes before getting back in my car after them to make the water works stop.
Katelyn @ Chef Katelyn says
Hahhaha sadie is the cutest! Love. I have a bladder the size of a pea too sooooo it’s all good
Margo @ peanut butter trees says
Sounds like a frustrating run – I know what you mean about sweating once you stop. Excited to hear your big news later!
Jess@atasteofconfidence says
Excited to hear about the big news!
Amy @ Elephant Eats says
Having to stop for Sadie’s pee breaks is better than YOU having to pee the whole time. I swear, I have to pee every 15 minutes. Even if I go right before I leave for a run, I always feel like i have to go again when I get started. It’s so annoying!
Jessica says
Humidity is my enemy! Being in South Florida, with thick wavy hair does not make a good combo!! I have frizzball hair around this time of year!
My guess is your pregnant! And really the only reason I say that is because you haven’t posted much on your Fashion Page recently… so maybe you’re hiding a belly?! !!!!!!!
Can’t wait to hear!
Gretchen @ Honey, I Shrunk the Gretchen! says
HAHAHAHA, inter-boobie deodorant. We should invent that. We’d make MILLIONS!
Jessica says
THANK GOD I am not the only one that starts profusely sweating as soon as I stop running. I thought I had a problem. I hardly sweat during runs but as soon as I stop…bam, water works all over the place. 🙂
Carrisa says
We had 95% humidity in NC this morning at 6:30am. Talk about a sweat fest for my run! I can’t even make it out the door before I stop sweating! Thank goodness for all those sprinklers that are on at that time in the morning 😉
My husky, Sasha, hates though it because it means only long walks for her, no running. She’d heat up way too fast!
Annette @ EnjoyYourHealthyLife says
My legs and chest sweat tons too. And my back. YIKES. It is super humid here too, so I hit the (inside) gym instead!
Can’t wait to hear!!
katie says
I don’t sweat a ton, BUT I get boob sweat always!!! That is where I sweat most, real pretty haha!
Have a good day! Cant wait to hear the news!
LizAshlee says
I sweat a TON when I run!! It’s good to get all the toxins out, although I much prefer a more fluid run-sometimes the stop-start just makes it more difficult to keep going!
I can’t wait to hear about the big news…it’s killing me!:)
Have a wonderful day!!
Gen says
I may be weird but I feel like if I don’t sweat, I don’t exercise enough, so I kinda like to sweat when I run.
And I can’t wait to hear about your announcement!!!!!
Savannah (sweet and savvy) says
As annoying as It must have been, the Sadie story cracked me up!
Can’t wait for Your announcement. Hope everything is well!:)
Khushboo says
Excited to hear your big news! I love dippy eggs but apparently they aren’t recommended for pregnant ppl so I’m guessing that’s nor your announcement 😉
Kristen @ notsodomesticated says
Haha you are so funny! I seem to be the same way… I don’t sweat under my arms but my face is always dripping during a run. So weird!!
I don’t know how you run in the Florida heat. As I think I’ve mentioned before, I’m from Florida… and I keep thinking if I ever move back down, I don’t know how I’m going to keep up with the running. It’s hard enough here in Ohio, where there’s a lot less humidity!! 😉
Also, random question… do you eat sushi? If so, I just found out that my FAVORITE sushi place in Gainesville opened a restaurant in Orlando. It’s called Dragonfly sushi. It’s amazing. If you like sushi, you should check it out. And then take pictures so that I can live vicariously through you! 😉
deep south runner says
I made my first over easy egg a week or so ago, put it on toast, and it was really good!! I always thought over easy eggs were disgusting, but I had never actually tried it. I will have to do that again soon.
Caro says
I totally agree – I am a face-sweater! And like you it tends to be when I stop! I get back and I look alright, but five minutes later I’m a red faced sweat monster!
Looking forward to the announcement… 🙂
Bee Goes Bananas says
I sweat the same way! I won’t sweat a drop until I’m done and then I’m a waterfall.
Beth (Well I'll Be) says
I was agreeing so much with this post as I was reading it. My female dog stops and pees all the time. You’d think it’d be the other way around with a male lifting his leg. And I also don’t start sweating that much until I stop running. The place I sweat the most is my shins. How weird is that?
Lauren @ What Lauren Likes says
Hmm I love eggs and jam together! I am excited to hear about the blog change/post 🙂
Jenn says
My bf and I just adopted a 3 month old puppy and I was wondering if you have any awesome potty training tips? How long did it take Sadie to learn?
Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine says
I haven’t even tried running with our dog because she’s so freakin’ scared of everything. We’d be running away from cars and people and mailboxes! Can’t wait to hear the announcement 🙂
Hilary says
ahhh cant wait until the announcement 🙂
Leslie says
Oh gosh, my face is a fountain of sweat as is my back and chest, but I agree, the pits stay dry! I even noticed, on really hot days if I wear crops, my knees sweat! Uncool.
Great job on the webisode! You came off as very down-to-earth and weren’t “too chatty” which definitely can be annoying.
Lindsey says
The worst is when I’m running and it drips into my eyes! I don’t even know where it comes from. I wear a headband. I like looking like a sweaty mess though. It makes me feel like I accomplished something!
Meggie says
Julie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to say this!!! I just watched half of the video that you filmed with Swimmer Joe.
How come you are so cute like this?? lol
You’re like my little sis! You seem so down-to-earth, funny, cute, like my cute little sister. (I know you are a big sis in real life, but still! :))
Even the laughs are like my sis’s. The kind of laughs that make other people happy. Oh my. I miss my sis now so bad 🙂 You look a little bit nervous in the video, but that’s cute, too.
I hope to see you more on TV or something 🙂
p.s. my sis is 17, by the way. Hehe. Please take this as a compliment.
peanutbutterfingers says
Haha I do! 🙂 Thank you!
Laura @ prettylittlewords says
Mmmm….dippy eggs… (said in a Homer Simpson voice)
Diana says
Still catching up on your blog from the past two weeks, but I wanted to ask a question before I forget.
My trip was great, BUT veggies were hard to come by in New Orleans (and in most of the houses I couch surfed my way through on my trip back north). Even worse, gluten was impossible to avoid.
I feel like my body needs a recharge after eating in ways it’s not used to anymore. I don’t want to fast or anything but a little detox might be just what the doctor ordered. How do you eat after an overindulgent trip?
Yolie @ Practising Wellness says
Oooh, I’m excited!!! 😀 What could it be?! Fun fun fun. Can’t wait to hear.
Bless, poor pup, she must have a bladder like mine. Too small for comfort, lol! 😛 I can’t run with my dog Lily because she doesn’t seem to understand the concept and keeps stopping and starting… 🙂
It must be so nice to have Sadie to keep you company when you’re at home. I work from home and I get a little lonely, I’d love to have a dog in the house with me to talk to, interact with and play with! (Lily lives at my parent’s home and we live in a rental that doesn’t allow pets). One day! 🙂
I had a drippy egg atop vegetables at dinner yesterday and it was amazing! I love how the yolk oozes over everything, soooo good! <3 xyx
Rebeka says
Oh my gosh this made me want a runny egg like nobody’s business! Nom!
Alyssa @ Life of bLyss says
I SWEAT ON MY FACE AND CHEST MOST, TOO. what is wrong with us? my dad said it’s in my genes… but we totally got the short end of the stick.
I get crotch sweat too. not literally, but my shorts are always soaked there. it looks highly suspicious. nice that I’m shameless enough to write about that on the internet, huh?
Morgan @ Operation Hot Mama says
I’m a face/chest sweater as well… I hate sweating when I am just doing stuff outside or lugging groceries in the house but when it is a ‘workout’ sweat, I LOVE IT!
Those eggs look delish *trying to lick screen*
Have a good day!! 🙂
Brittany *Sparkles* says
‘Inner boobie deodorant’ = LOL.
Umm, in the summer I actually DO apply some deodorant right under my boobies bc I cannot stand sweat there!
Joelle (On A Pink Typewriter) says
Oh my gosh, I sweat like a beast when I run/workout, esp on my face/hair. And love your comment about hill dew hahah you and me both. 😉
Avery says
So funny, I was just talking about engagement lengths the other day! I currently have an internship with a wedding planner, so I know that for her, she starts assisting the brides with their planning about 9 months out, given that they booked her with 9 months to go.
I would say 6 months is the minimum, but I’d rather have 9 or 10! I can see how 13 would be a lot! Although then you get to look forward to your wedding for longer.. that’s the fun part, right?! 🙂 Guess every bride is different!
Presley (Run Pretty) says
Ah! I love exciting changes… even if they are happening for other people! 🙂 The fact that you share things with your readers is my absolute favorite part about your blog… people become somewhat invested in your life (could be creepy sometimes, too, I suppose haha) Can’t wait to hear all about it!
Dani says
Excitinggg! I cannot wait to hear what it is! I am guessing moving or possibly fur baby related!
Emily @ Glitz Glam Granola says
Haha that’s how my brother’s dog was this past weekend! Every walk we’d go on she’d have to go to the bathroom like every couple of feet! Sheesh! And I’m so glad to hear your face sweats too! That’s how mine is and I’ve always hated it! Makes me happy to know that I’m not the only one!
Laura @ southern girl bakes says
Can’t wait for the big news!
Ugh, it’s so hard running or even walking with dogs sometimes. It’s even harder with male dogs who constantly want to just lift their legs! I’m still working on getting my dog to not stop a million times on a walk.
Jess says
Seriously sitting in the edge of my seat for your announcement!!
My boston/beagle mix, Otto is the same way and stops every 10 feet to pee/sniff. My 8 mo. old V, Rush is already a dream running partner….he hasn’t gotten to the point where he marks stuff yet so our runs (though short) are smooth!
Laura (Cookies vs. Carrots) says
I have the exact same sweating issue! I always have a giant sweat ring around my neck and down to my chest when I run, but not underarm sweat. What gives?
Can’t wait for the big news!
Lissy says
Buffy does that too. She’s just markin’ her territory 🙂 yes, girls do that
Parita @ myinnershakti says
Oooh…an annoucement! I’m guessing it has something to do with your move. 🙂
Dawn @ Blonde on a Mission says
Lol… I’d say it was more of a “fluid run”… 😀
That breakfast sandwich looks perfect! I want to try that… I lurve me some dippy eggs!
Ally@GirlVFood says
I’m betting pregnant! Not only because it would be OH SO CUTE, but there hasn’t been many pictures of you lately, and the fashion page hasn’t been updated for a few days. Maybe to surprise us with the tummy shot? 🙂
