Hello and happy Friday, my friends! How are you doing this morning? I’m full of excited anticipation because we’re heading off to Hilton Head Island in South Carolina this evening! I’m feeling very ready for a couple of days away with my family and this will be the very first vacation Ryan, Chase and I have been on alone together as a family of three. Woop! I’ve been to Hilton Head years ago but I was too young to remember anything so I cannot wait to explore, try some delicious food and relax. And for those of you who have been to Hilton Head in the past, please let me know of any must-see, must-eat and must-do things in the area. You guys always have the best recommendations, so I’d love your advice!
And now let’s get to the reason you’re probably stopping by the blog today: Things I’m Loving Friday! Below you will find a small collection of things I’m loving this week and, as always, I’d love to hear a little bit about something that is making you smile this week in the comments section of this post.
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
Things I’m Loving Friday
- Quaker Overnight Oats
I’m not sure what it is about the two mornings a week that Chase has preschool, but I cannot help but feel a little more frazzled than usual as I try to get us out the door in time. Inevitably something unexpected will pop up just as I think we’re ready to go (spilling his breakfast down his shirt, a perfectly-timed poop, etc.) and I felt quite grateful I had a convenient and nutritious breakfast waiting for me in the fridge on Wednesday morning this week.
Quaker Overnight Oats to the rescue! The oats are easy to prep: You simply add your preferred milk option to the fill line and let them cold-steep in the refrigerator overnight. Quaker Overnight Oats come in four different flavors (Raisin Walnut & Honey Heaven, Blueberry Banana & Vanilla Bliss, Orchard Peach Pecan Perfection and Toasted Coconut & Almond Crunch) with no artificial flavors and no added colors. I’ve tried them all and the Toasted Coconut & Almond Crunch is my favorite. I like adding a spoonful of Greek yogurt to the oats in the morning for added creaminess.
- Handmade Dishcloths
I have a question for those of you with knitters in your family: Do these little handmade dishcloths look familiar? I’m curious to know because both of my grandmothers knit and always had them in their homes and now my mom knits and has them in her home so they seem almost synonymous with knitter’s home to me. My mom knit a few dishcloths for me throughout the years and they’re actually wonderful for wiping down countertops and cleaning up odds and ends around the house. I love not relying on paper towels for everything and these handmade dishcloths wash well and hold up for years and years. Thanks for my growing supply, Mama!
- All the Missing Girls by Megan Miranda
This book was highly recommended by one of you (hi Jenna!) on last week’s TILF post when I put out a call for suspense novel recommendations. Talk about a page-turner! The story is told in reverse —Day 15 to Day 1—from the time Annaleise went missing. Annaleise is Nic’s neighbor and the girlfriend of Nic’s ex-boyfriend Tyler, whom she was dating ten years ago when Nic’s best friend Corinne went missing. Nic works to unravel the truth about Annaleise’s disappearance after she returns home which reveals shocking truths about her friends, her family and what really happened to her best friend Corinne when she disappeared ten years ago. When I realized this book was written in reverse order, I was skeptical about whether or not it would include any surprises but there were plenty of twists and intrigue in this page-turning thriller. I felt like I was on edge the entire time I read this book. It was intense but awesome! Thank you for the recommendation, Jenna!
- Embracing Summer Weather in the Fall
This may seem silly, but with temperatures once again hitting 90 degrees this week, I initially found myself feeling frustrated because it’s almost October and feels like the middle of July around here! I mentioned this briefly on the blog yesterday, but I knew I needed an attitude adjustment early in the week and tried to shift my mind away from dreams of flannel tops, chilly-weather apple picking and hot mugs of mulled wine to the fun that comes with splashing in the pool and floating in the lake while we still can. I love summer, so why not love it for a few weeks more? An evening trip to the splash pad with Ryan and Chase last night helped make me smile and embrace the sweaty weather. All that being said, my fall decorations are calling to me from my office closet and I will be busting them out next week, 90-degree temps or not!
- Friday Flashbacks
Total Body Floor Workout (I did this low-impact workout at home at the end of the day earlier this week when I wasn’t able to make it to the gym. Burn baby, burn!)
Homemade Engagement Gift Basket (A throwback post to the engagement gift basket I put together for my sister!)
Questions of the Day
What is one thing you are loving this week?
Any Hilton Head Island recommendations for me?
Mallory says
We went to Hilton Head about a month ago … also our first vacation with just our family of 3! The best meal I had there was breakfast at The French Bakery! Everything was fresh and delicious, and you definitely have to try the crepes! I also really enjoyed a place called Chow Daddy … wide variety, local ingredients, and creative menu. Have a great time!
Julie says
we never seem to go out to breakfast anymore so i am dying to change that while we’re out on vacation! the french bakery sounds fabulous!
Brynn says
Sea Pines is fantastic and you can rent bikes!
Julie says
We are definitely planning on renting bikes! I cannot wait to explore!
Ashley says
Are y’all staying in Sea Pines? The Harbor and South Beach are lots of fun. Cool shops, great places to eat(Salty Dog) and fun playgrounds! Hope y’all have a great time!
Julie says
We’re staying at Palmetto Dunes! And thank you for the recommendations — Salty Dog is on our list!
Maureen @ Maureen Gets Real says
One thing I’m loving this week is the cooler temperatures! Granted it was only yesterday but it’s going to stay in the high 60s/low 70s for a few days which is great. Now my fall decorations don’t seem so ridiculous in the apartment.
Have a great trip!
Jane says
Hi Julie! My family has a house in Hilton Head. I spend multiple weeks out of the year there since I can work remotely and was there last week! For breakfast or lunch, I would say Plantation Sunrise Café or Signe’s are the best. For lunch or dinner, I would check out the Sea Shack. It is a hole-in-the-wall place with the most incredible seafood, and was actually on Food Network. It is super casual. Chow Daddy’s is also really good. My favorite is the Napa tuna salad which I know your would love since you share my obsession with tuna!
For Chase, I highly recommend going to Harbor Town. They have the best playground and some cute shops. Also really good ice cream! Have the best time! It is such a special place.
Julie says
aw fun!!! thank you for weighing in. i am so, so excited! i’ll def keep harbor town on my list for chase! and sea shack sounds RIGHT up our alley!
April Thomas says
We have been going to Hilton Head for 20 years!!! It’s our favorite. Try Sea Shack, it’s the best food hole in the wall place.
Crazy Crab in Harbour Town! Good shops and marina is wonderful sightseeing.
Julie says
yum!!! whole in the wall places are the BEST! thank you!
Emily @ Pizza & Pull-Ups says
I will have to check out that book. Hope you have a fabulous getaway!
Lisa says
Ok I get that you’re sponsored but overnight oats is basically ANY oats in any liquid. I use normal oats and water, then put on some yoghurt before I start eating for some creaminess. Add some frozen berries to your mix (before you leave it overnight) and you have a way cheaper version. Plus you don’t have to use so much plastic.
Whitney says
Hope you enjoy your trip! We recently moved from Richmond VA to Colorado, our summer weather went from high 70’s to 50’s in a flash, already pulled out the old Uggs.
This week I am loving the strength and courage I’ve experienced.
Juliette | Namastay Traveling says
Awe I’m currently drinking tea out of the exact same J mug in your first pic! I love that we *almost* share a name (fun fact, we also have the same birthday :-)). So excited to dive into that book, I’m working on Into the Water and then The Couple Next Door…but might have to get to All The Missing Girls first! Have an AWESOME weekend Julie!
Brynn says
Watusi and Java Burrito are awesome for breakfast!
Alexis deZayas says
Hilton Head is on my bucket list of places to visit! You should read Behind Closed Doors while you’re there 🙂 It’s such a suspenseful story! And I’ve totally pulled out fall decorations despite the hot weather sticking around 🙂 Happy Friday!
Julie says
I ALMOST downloaded that book last week but then the most recent Amazon reviews dissuaded me… So you would really recommend it?? So many said it was over-the-top disturbing and after my experience with Pretty Girls (SOOOO violent and unnecessarily descriptive/brutal), I figured Behind Closed Doors might not be a good fit. Thoughts!?
Alexis deZayas says
I would definitely say it was super creepy but I was so into the story that I ended up loving it if that makes any sense! I haven’t read Pretty Girls yet so I’m not sure how it compares but I usually take 1-2 weeks to read a book and I finished this one in 3 days because I HAD to know what was going to happen! I was freaked out by it but couldn’t stop talking about it and had goosebumps when I finished reading it. It’s a tough choice!
Heather says
I definitely did not find it over the top disturbing. I like her books, but I almost find them to be over the top ridiculous, if anything. I liked it though, and it was a pretty quick read. I don’t remember it as being particularly violent or anything??
Erinn says
Hope y’all have a great trip!
I need to try that book…I love books that you can’t seem to put down (even if you lose a little sleep!).
I’m loving cooler temps at night this weekend – open up the windows!
Chrissy says
Lucky Rooster in Hilton Head is great for dinner. It takes reservations. I second the French Bakery. If you go to Sea Pinea, you cannot rent bikes and ride into it. You have to rent bikes within it to use them.
Hayley says
I’m so jealous, I love Hilton Head! My family has been going for the past 40 years; we love it! Would definitely recommend Salty Dog of course, as well as Harbour Town. Not sure if Gregg Russell is still playing at this point in the year, but if he is, don’t miss him! He’s funny for everyone and great for kids.
Hudson’s is another great place with reallllly good food and I’ve also always loved the beach clubs (especially Sea Pines) at night with their live music. Also would recommend getting bikes to ride on the little trails that go around the island. One of my favorite parts!
B. Ramsey says
Those dish clothes are the best. My grandmother made them and our entire family has them. We affectionately call them granny rags. They are also great for dusting your furniture and to fold and put under your furniture to move on hardwood floors. As my grandmother got older and it became more difficult for her to knit me and my siblings started to hoard them. This week is the 2 year “sadiversary” of her passing. Seeing those dish clothes in your post brought back great memories of her – Thanks!
Ann Fisher says
Hi Julie! We just went on our first family vacation to Hilton Head two weeks ago and had a great time. We also have a 3 year old and a 2 month old so our trip was definitely all about the kiddos.
For breakfast, we went ventured out to Palmetto Bay Sunrise Cafe. It’s a great breakfast spot tucked away and the staff are so incredibly friendly.
A great dinner spot we found where our 3 year old could walk around and enjoy without getting into too much trouble was the Lowcountry Backyard Restaurant. Make sure you sit outside 🙂 We got there early…that’s how we roll with little ones now and there were nothing but other families that arrived that kept our little ones entertained.
The best dinner out we had was Fishcamp on Broad Creek! The views outside in the evening were beautiful. There are backyard games for kids, music, and great food. It was pretty busy so I suggest getting there early.
This is random but we loved miniature golfing at Pirate’s Cove.
Hope you have a great time!
Katie says
I don’t have any knitters in my family (though my mother crochets and my grandmother was an amazing quilter), but I run a DIY site for an online publisher which includes a knitting section so this is still totally familiar to me! haha!
One thing that I’m loving this week is yoga. That’s not new in any way, shape or form, but I’m finding my love of yoga growing by the day, especially as it continues to prove to be a great way for me to come back to center after a particularly stressful day like I had yesterday.
Ruth says
I love knit washcloths! They are the best to use both in the kitchen and bathroom. I love the pattern for the ones in the bottom of the pile in the picture. I admit that I never expected to confess to being a knitter with a very similar pattern as the washcloth you’ve posted on your blog – ha!!
Rachel says
You’ve gotten some great recommendations so far, but I had to chime in and say that we went to Coast in Sea Pines on our last trip in May – the meal was incredible with the most beautiful views right on the water! We also picked up some fresh caught mahi mahi and cooked it at home and it may have been our favorite meal of the trip!
Bonnie says
Wow – those Quaker overnight oat cups have a lot of added sugar (not the sugar in the fruit) … three of the four have 11 g or more! With 4 g being a teaspoon, that’s nearly – or more than – a tablespoon of added sugar in the product! That’s a high nutritional price to pay for the convenience of a packaged product.
Julie says
Bonnie, I found your comment! It’s here and was never deleted. I don’t know where the confusion was but this comment was published when you originally commented and never deleted. Just want to make sure you see it as I definitely never deleted your opinion and respect your thoughts!
Sarah @ Sweet Miles says
Girl yes, summer weather in the fall has been such a downer this year! But, you’re right, there are still lots of fun times that come with the heat 🙂 A cold front just came through this week down here, so I’m hoping it means fall is on its way!
Caroline says
Oh my goodness HHI is near and dear to my heart and I have so many memories there… My grandparents lived in Sea Pines for 25 years and I spent every school vacation there as a kid! My brother actually just got married there this past April! I would definitely recommend visiting Sea Pines and renting bikes – it is extremely bike friendly and there are beautiful paths throughout the entire island. Harbour Town is also in Sea Pines and has a variety of shops, restaurants and a beautiful lighthouse! I would also recommend visiting The Salty Dog cafe. As far as restaurants go – Chow Daddy’s, The Smokehouse has amazing BBQ, and the Sunset Grille is great for brunch! I hope you have an amazing trip!
Fiona @ Get Fit Fiona says
Although we had rain and snow last week, this week has felt more like summer. Today’s high is 24 C (or 75 F), which feels like a summer day here. I’m enjoying it while I can, because there’s two days of snow forecasted for next week!
Ginger G. says
Yes!! Those dish cloths! I have tons of them because my aunt made them. I thought I was the only one who had those. haha I love them and you are right they hold up for years and years. She passed away nine years ago and they are still in great shape.
Katie says
My grandma was known for her crocheted potholders, and they have always been my favorite ones! They are even more special now that she has passed away.
Bethany @LuluRuns says
Sounds like such a fun trip! Hope you guys have a great time!
Jenna says
A lot of people are recommending many shops and restaurants in Sea Pines, which I absolutely agree with. It’s worth the $5 per car or whatever it is to get into the grounds and see Harbour Town and South Beach. I’m a huge golf fan, so Harbour Town is heaven! lol
If you want a quick stop for a sweet treat, there’s a cute chocolate shop on Palmetto Bay Rd called Chocolates by the Sea. Also, right near there by the Sea Pines entrance is a restaurant called One Hot Mama’s. I liked it a lot when I went! Some killer burgers and wings, and I loved the crab and artichoke dip!
I also know Disney has a resort right by Palmetto Dunes where you’re staying. They offer a schedule of different kids activities… not sure if they permit guests from other resorts to partake, or if anything would be age appropriate for Chase, but maybe worth a call to them to see!
Another activity I recommend for sure, as others have, is bike riding. Hilton Head has bike paths over most of the island, but my personal favorite is always riding right on the beach itself! We’ve rented from Bicycle Billy’s on Pope Ave., and they were reasonably priced with a friendly, helpful staff. You can also ride bikes all the way down the beach into Sea Pines grounds.
Sorry I rambled on and on! Just excited for your Hilton Head vacay! Have fun : )
Julie says
Thank you for all of this advice, Jenna! Really appreciate it! Biking is actually the #1 thing we want to do, so I’m glad you recommended it!
Samantha says
I’m loving some of the old TV shows that are being re-vamped and coming back on! Will & Grace and Curb Your Enthusiasm are two of my favorites right now! Both are great for a good laugh 🙂
Hannah says
Hilton Head is one of my favorite places! I would definitely recommend Watusi for breakfast. Fishcamp has an awesome outdoor area with games and a great view. Frozen Moo in Coligny has pretty good ice cream. Have a great trip!
Julie says
Love outdoor games!!! Fishcamp sounds like a fun place. Thanks for the recs!
Patricia @Sweet and Strong says
Oh what a great vacation! You three are going to have such a fun weekend. I’ve only been to HHI in college, so any of the places we visited were not family friendly, lol. But I remember there being so much to do and see.
And I LOVED the reverse order of All the Missing Girls, only thing is I now want to go back and re-read the whole thing!
Brittany says
Have you read Into the Water by Paula Hawkins? Not as good as Girl on a Train- but a good suspense!
Also The Good Girl by Mary Kubica was good!
Emily W. says
Oh our aunt has been giving us those knit towels for years! We have a drawer full of them! All the members of our family usually get some every Holiday from her.
I’m loving that it’s finally Friday (it’s been a long week) ..and that I had my first PSL this morning..even though we don’t really get Fall weather down here :/ …I still love it!
Kayla says
I just started All The Missing Girls yesterday, and I can’t put it down! Eeeekkk!!! 😉 I hope you have a great weekend, Julie! Xoxo
Julie says
It’s SO good! Stressful to read, but GOOD!
Jaclyn says
Shelter cove is my favorite Hilton Head spot for sure. I have been almost every year my whole life! Shelter cove has a ton of great restaurants and an almost nightly performance from Shannon Tanner who sings for a children’s audience usually and one night a week performs with a Jimmy Buffer style band. So fun. Lots of boats on the marina as well to watch and a beautiful place for a sunset. Enjoy!
Stephanie says
Michael Robotham is an Australian mystery/suspense author I recently stumbled onto and I LOVE his stuff! I read his “Life or Death” in two days–over lunch breaks and before bed. It’s got all the page-turning plot aspects, but also really beautiful writing and compelling characters. I’m on my second, one in a series with a similar character, but I’ve been told they don’t need to be read in order. This one is called “Close Your Eyes.”
Happy Friday!
rachel says
do you have a rice cooker? making steel cut oats is way healthier than the overnight oats that usually have a lot of added sugar. if you want more flavor you can add protein powder, almond butter, nuts, or bananas to the oatmeal.
Julie says
i don’t have a rice cooker but i’ve been on the fence about buying an instant pot — i’ve heard that can do similar things!?
rachel says
im not sure what that is. I have a Zojirushi and it’s the best thing ever. The night before i can put my oatmeal and water in, set a timer for 5:30am and my oatmeal will be ready at that time. It cooks rice beautifully as well!
Laura says
My grandmother used to live in Hilton Head and we went every summer! I sure loved every minute of it! My sisters and cousins and I still sing the Gregg Russel songs we learned in Harbour Town – that’s my recommendation! Riding bikes, the Salty Dog Cafe (still have and wear a shirt from like 1995), look at alligators … everywhere!
Amanda says
Those homemade dishcloths are so cool!! And YES to the weather thing. I was so bitter as I’ve been sweating like crazy on my walk to work. But now I’m excited to go to the beach this weekend 😉 have a great weekend, Julie!!
Erin @ A Girl and Her Vizsla says
I lived on HHI while in high school and Sea Shack (near Coligny Beach) is a MUST. It’s nothing fancy but it’s the best seafood. And if your looking for some cute clothes check out Island Girl at the Coligny Shopping Plaza!!
Stephanie says
hi julie!
so excited that you are going to HHI! my family has a home there and we get down a few times a year. i’m actually going myself in 2 weeks! i’ve passed the below along to several others who have visited, so i hope this helps you. have a great time!!
Grocery/General Shopping:
– My recommendation would be the Kroger in the Plaza at Shelter Cove Shopping Center. There are a few other grocery stores on the island (Publix, Piggly Wiggly, Whole Foods, etc.), but this whole plaza is new and we find Kroger just has everything also a lot of good prepared food, beer/wine, and this is close to where you are staying.
– The Walmart on island is pretty substantial, if you need anything that you don’t find at the grocery store. There is a Target, but it is off island.
– Tanger Outlets – great for a rainy day if you have one. There are 2 sets of them, both off island, but great stores. We hit these up every time we are down there.
– Beer/wine you can buy really at any store, but liquor you need to buy at an ABC store separately (for those who are partaking )
– Coligny Plaza – good cluster of shopping, has a lot of places to get souvenirs.
– Plaza at Shelter Cove – they are still putting in stores in this plaza, but have some great ones over here too for shopping. There is a Pure Barre if you are looking to workout at all.
Restaurants:
– Here is a list of our mainstays that we tend to go to on each visit, we are definitely creatures of habit! But these are consistently good, and will somewhat avoid the tourist crowd, more of a locals scene
o Ombra Cucina Rustica (http://www.ombrahhi.com/) – Italian, this has become one of our favorites. Great Italian food, I would recommend making a reservation here, as it tends to fill up. Ask for Ned if you can, our favorite waiter, very entertaining!
o WiseGuys (http://www.wiseguyshhi.com/) – small plates/wine bar. Good for sharing, or the entrees always look good as well. This is a nice casual place, no reservation usually needed.
o Poseidon (http://www.poseidonhhi.com/) – seafood, raw bar, steaks. This is a relatively new restaurant, great outdoor seating right on the creek. Can pick & choose from their various menus to order from, would also be good for a sunset happy hour. This is located in the Plaza at Shelter Cove Shopping Center.
o Skullcreek Boathouse (http://www.skullcreekboathouse.com/) – our favorite place for sunset happy hour!! They are situated right on the creek, so this place gets busy to watch the sunset. We typically go here for a pre-dinner drink, but their menu and food are good as well if you want to stay and eat.
o Bullies BBQ (http://www.bulliesbbq.com/) – if you are looking for good barbeque, this is where we typically order from. This is great for a take-out night, if you don’t feel like going out or cooking. It’s a small place, literally next to a gas station…don’t be phased. But you get great portions of food, great prices, and the food is delicious.
o San Miguels (http://www.sanmiguels.com/) – mexican. This is typically where we go for Mexican food if we are on the island. This is situated in Shelter Cove and has outdoor seating right on the water, so this is great for a night you want to sit outside and eat. They also usually have some live entertainment.
o Charbar Co. (http://charbar.co/) – burgers. We went to this place last time I visted, awesome specialty burgers and fries. Very casual.
o Holy Tequila (http://holytequila.com/#modern-organic-thai) – Mexican/american fusion. I just found this place via Instagram but have never eaten there, so I am planning on trying it out on my visit, but seems to have good reviews and seemed interesting.
o Mellow Mushroom (http://mellowmushroom.com/store/hilton-head) – pizza. Also good for a take-out night, they have a lot of good speciality pizzas.
o Old Oyster Factory (http://www.oldoysterfactory.com/) – also good for a sunset happy hour, right on the creek. We’ve eaten here too as well.
o One Hot Mama’s (http://www.onehotmamas.com/) – barbeque. The chef here won “next food network star”, so they have some notoriety. But also good barbeque if you are interested in going out.
o Red Fish (http://www.redfishofhiltonhead.com/) – southern style food, a bit upscale if you have an evening out, without the kids. I would also recommend making a reservation here.
o Wild Wing Café (http://www.wildwingcafe.com/) – wings! These are the best wings. Tuesday night is also trivia night if you are interested in that. They also do takeout.
Things to do:
– Here are some of the activities we have done while down there:
o Rent bikes – this is a good way to get around for things close to you; there are designated bike paths on the roads and you can take them on the beach
o Water sports (kayaking, paddle boarding) – http://www.outsidehiltonhead.com/, we’ve gone to this place to do both kayaking and paddle boarding and both have been great
o Harbourtown (https://www.seapines.com/resort_activities/harbour_town/) – down in Sea Pines plantation, there is an entry fee to get in to this plantation, but there are a bunch of shopping/restaurants and this is where the famous red/white lighthouse is. Definitely worth the trip though.
o Shelter Cove – if you don’t end up coming to eat, definitely take a walk through here. More shopping/restaurants, but nice scenic walk.
o Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge – wildlife reserve that is just off island. Good for walking through, nature, etc. very pretty.

YOU ARE AMAZING!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!

You’ve finally lost me as a blog reader, Julie … I see other posted comments disappear if/when they don’t show your sponsors in the best light … but frustrated that you deleted my comment earlier today about the high amount of added sugars in the Quaker overnight oats, about a tablespoon per container … even though you’re making money off of them, recognize that nutrition is the tradeoff a consumer will pay for the convenience of a packaged, processed product.
LJ says
Lighten up Bonnie, jeez. Blog readers, (especially Julie’s readers) are intelligent enough that they don’t need you to point out the nutrition information on products. The point of the mention was that they are a “convenient, easy prep” option when our days are hectic. A tablespoon may seem like a lot but it’s still better than many other breakfast options out there. Now take a deep breathe and go about your day. LOVE YOU JULIE!
Julie says
I’m not sure what you’re talking about regarding a deleted comment … I have not deleted a single comment on this post. Comments nest after 25 so maybe you missed it because it’s there. If that’s not your comment I’m truly confused because I didn’t delete anything on this post at all.

I am WITH YOU on the cooler weather! Luckily the temperatures dropped to the mid-70s around here, so I’ll take it! I’ve been doing most of my work outside in the chillier air, and it’s so amazing. I can’t wait to bundle up in flannel and scarves without wanting to pass out from heat exhaustion though. BRING. IT. ON!
Bethany says
I am loving all the pumpkins! We painting our first one and it made me so happy!
Trish says
You must must must go to The French Bakery on Hilton Head. We live near HH and spent a quick weekend there for our anniversary. The French Bakery has he best sandwiches and truffle fries. Don’t leave the island without eating there and grabbing a loaf of their amazing bread as well. You won’t regret it!
Julie says
Yum!! Sounds fabulous! Thank you for the recommendation!

We were there last fall for a weekend, rained the entire time. I found a children’s museum for my 2.5 year old son. He loved it! Enjoy your trip!

Hello! I’m a current Senior at Vanderbilt University and I’m working on a project to improve peanut butter jars. I have enjoyed reading your blog and share your love for peanut butter! Do you ever find it difficult to scoop out peanut butter from the bottom of the jar? Would you potentially be interested in a jar with a lever (think of a push pop) that lets you scoop out all its contents?
Amina says
Definitely going to check out that book! I’m always on the lookout for a new one! Have you read All the Ugly and Wonderful Things? It’s intense and disturbing but so good! Also, Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell is one of my favorites…she has several other awesome books too!
Enjoy Hilton head!

Sunrise Cafe for breakfast.! It is a hidden gem for breakfast and off the beaten path. Lots of outdoor seating and the best pancakes ever! We have been going going to HHI for years and love it! You have to go home with a Salty Dog T-shirt and a gift for Sadie or yoit trip won’t be complete! ? There is an outlet store not far from Sunrise Cafe on Arrow Road.
