It’s Friday!!! And it’s two days after Christmas, so I am feeling the Christmas Blues start to sneak in. I love the holidays but whenever Christmas is over, I cannot help but feel a little sad. To combat this, I figured I would focus on things that are making me smile in another Things I’m Loving Friday post!
Things I’m Loving Friday
- Jazzercise
Whenever I visit my parents in Jacksonville, I love taking Jazzercise classes with my mom and sister. The three of us have the best time jumping around, dancing and working up a sweat together. Unfortunately my mom’s surgery prohibited her from joining me and my sister at Jazzercise this week, but we still managed to take a few classes and hopped around in her honor.
“What does the way you speak say about where you’re from? Answer all the questions to see your personal dialect map!” I took this quiz and my results were spot on! It said I speak like I am from Aurora, Illinois which makes a lot of sense since I grew up in nearby Palatine, Illinois.
- Sleepy Sadie
Since Sadie is normally running around like crazy, Ryan and I have learned to cherish “Sleepy Sadie.” Watching Sadie try her hardest to keep her eyes open is one of the cutest things in the world and we love her sleepy cuddles.
It seems like oversize sweaters are everywhere this year and I am loving it! They’re ridiculously comfortable and they make any outfit look extra cozy. Some sweaters that caught my eye: chunky cable knit sweater (only $17!), winter white cable knit sweater, off-the-shoulder stripe sweater, gone boho sweater (love the fun print!)
So impressive!
- Christmas Traditions
We are big-time suckers for Christmas traditions in our house and I look forward to our traditions every single year. From pajamas on Christmas Eve, my mom’s family Christmas poem, monkey bread and cheese puff casserole for breakfast on Christmas morning and my dad playing Christmas music while we open presents, I love everything about Christmas with my family. I’m also loving the new tradition of enjoying some quiet time and opening presents with Ryan before everyone wakes up.
- Red Velvet Hot Chocolate
After I unwrapped this delicious little treat from my sister on Christmas morning, I made myself a mug of the red velvet hot chocolate to enjoy on Christmas when we all curled up on the couch to watch Elf. Yum.

Now it’s your turn…
Question of the Day
- What is one thing you’re loving lately?
Maybe eggs…I’ve had random cravings and I’m about to cook up my first one in about 6 years!
Red velvet hot chocolate!!! Yum!
I’m loving oversized tees and sweaters. They are perfect for dressing up too with leather leggings or skinny jeans and heels. Plus super comfy so it’s a double win!
Don’t feel the Christmas blues. Try to get excited for the New Year and Valentines Day!
Things I’m loving lately hmm probably french toast and pierogies seeing as the only time I eat them is on Christmas! I’m also loving oversize sweaters though, and actually wearing one now.
Definitely our new Keurig. I love not having any clean up after making coffee now!
I love Chriastmas traditions too!!! I hope your mom has a speedy recovery!
Definitely feel you on the after Christmas sadness…. I am lucky to enjoy another week off from work, though. Christmas traditions are the best!!!!!!!!
I tired taking the NY Times Dialect quiz and it won’t work on my computer 🙁 I’d love to see what it says about me. Maybe I’ll try again later from another computer. That’s how curious I am.
That quiz! Yes! I took it a few days ago and it couldn’t be more accurate! I grew up in Nashville TN and my results pin pointed Little Rock, AR (where we live now) and Chattanooga, TN! Pretty perfect! Sleepy Sadie is so cute! Her grey chin makes her look so wise 🙂
I’m loving oversized sweaters too, my mom and dad gave me the passage sweater from Lululemon and I love it.
I just got the passage sweater too and I LOVE it!!! It’s already sold out online. I considered buying another color! I just visited the first Lululemon stand alone store in Oklahoma and it’s amazing. I recapped it on my blog today…..

Always looking for other Lulu obsessed like myself!
Happy New Year

That red velvet hot chocolate is AMAZING!! I, too, received some in my stocking on Christmas morning.
I am loving flavoured coffee’s (Caramel, Pumpkin Spice, French Vanilla), running for fun and the Almay lip gloss’s!
I’m loving the bag of random foodie goodies my mom gave me for Christmas! She went to the bulk bins in Whole Foods and just got the most random assortment of rice, popcorn, etc. So pumped to try some of it out!
The Red velvet cocoa yummm!!!! The Jazzercise seems fun and sleepy sadie looks so adorable!! 😀
I’m loving my new curling iron and coffee mug. I can finally have my hair in those pretty lose waves that I have been having hair envy over!
I saw Red Velvet Coffee at HomeGoods about a month ago. Silly me didn’t buy it right then and there, and I have literally been looking for it (for a Christmas gift for my friend) ever since.
Loved that dialect quiz! Sleepy sadie is so adorable, reminds me of my cat when she cuddles with me, it just makes my heart melt! LOVE LOVE LOVE oversized sweaters! I’m looking for more 🙂
I am loving StrideBox. My MIL bought me a 3-month subscription for Christmas and I can’t wait to get my first package! It’s the same concept as BirchBox or BarkBox, but for runners. 🙂
I’ve never heard of it! Sounds awesome!!
Definitely worth checking out!
I got a subscription to StrideBox for Christmas as well, and so far I love it!!
I’m loving those oversized sweaters too! One thing I’m loving is scented oils for my home. . I’ve been using Air Wicks since college. I always enjoy the Apple Cinnamon Medley Scent during the holidays. http://www.target.com/p/air-wick-apple-cinnamon-medley-scented-oil-refills-2-ct/-/A-13297878#prodSlot=medium_1_21&term=air+wick
It’s the best smell especially when entering my home from a long, busy day at work. I can smell comfort and holidays all bundled into one scent.
I am ALL for big sweaters, especially when paired with leggings. 🙂
Im loving my lazy vacation days this week, going back to work is gonna be rough!
I went to Jazzercise with my mom here in Kansas City yesterday! I love going when I’m home. Also – I did that quiz as well a few days ago and I got Overland Park, KS and KCMO – which is crazy because that’s where I’m from! I was surprised how accurate the quiz was
I was shocked, too! It’s dead-on!
I just tried the dialect quiz and it says I’m from Orlando, Florida! I go there often, but I didn’t know I could pick up the dialect so easily 😉
I’m also a huge fan of oversized sweaters. Super comfy and cute!
I’ve been loving sleeping in and spending quality time with my whole family, especially before my brother goes back to college soon!
That dialect quiz was fascinating! I got Rockford & Aurora, IL and Toledo, OH – pretty darn close since I’m from a town less than an hour from Toledo (although I’ve just moved to NC). 😉
Can’t get enough of this Candy Cane coffee! Since you mentioned peppermint creme coffee… I figured this was the next best thing. When I want to splurge I make one candy cane k cup and one hot chocolate k cup then pour it into a tervis tumbler. Worth it.

I took that dialect quiz and my map didn’t show up! I am bound and determined to see what part of the country I talk like 😉 I’ve never tried Jazzercise, but I love that you always take those classes with your mom when you go home!
I took that accent quiz too, and it was SPOT ON! I got Glendale and Scottsdale – both cities in which I grew up. I thought it was so fun.
I’m loving all the chunky oversized sweaters this season too. They’re perfect to wear with leggings and boots – makes for a perfect cute and comfy outfit!
Oh my, red velvet hot chocolate?! That sounds amazing!
I just took the test and it says I’m from Columbus, Georgia or Chattanooga, Tennessee. Which is pretty close because I’m from Athens, Georgia! Too funny 🙂
I’m so on the oversized sweater band wagon! I feel like there is nothing else I want to wear in this cold new england weather!
Christmas traditions are the best, although some have changed over the years due to people passing, growing up, moving etc.
The quiz got me dead on! It said eastern PA, and weirdly, eastern Nebraska. It’s weird because I’ve only lived here 5 months and I don’t say pop. haha
LOVE over sized sweaters! They are the BEST! They go with anything you can dress them up or down and they are crazy comfortable!
WOW! I took the speech quiz and it is SCARY how accurate that thing is! My quiz said Jackson, MS and I live about an hour away in a small town!
I love that dialect quiz so much — my family and I all got different west coast cities. We had family friends over for Christmas Eve (one from Kansas and one from Philadelphia and it was SPOT-ON.) You should do a little post about some of the words you say that may/may not be different — I’m curious!
haha I tried the dialect quiz and ended up with Arlington, Virginia and Orlando and Pembroke Pines, Florida. Don’t know how florida would work but Arlington makes decent sense since I live in Maryland. Something I’m loving right now is hot chocolate with a candy cane in it, it’s a good way to use up those candy canes no one seems to want
Aww, what a sweet Sadie pup!! And I agree…oversized sweaters are awesome. It’s like being able to legitimately wear pjs as clothing ;).
I tried the NY time quiz and it was completely right. Born and raised in a suburb of Fort Worth, but the funny thing is I now live in a suburb of Detroit and that city was listed as my least similar. Which is true, because whenever I talk to people in Detroit they always say to me “You’re not from here, are you?”. Lol
Christmas traditions for sure!! 🙂 I love my goofy family time!
Red Velvet Hot Cocoa?! Ooooooh, man. I need to find some of that!
I am loving my Tri-Blade Plastic Spiral Vegetable Slicer! Santa brought it for me and it cuts the best veggie shaped pasta! So far I have made zucchini pesto noodles and am try a carrot pad thai with it tonight! Seriously its a must buy and so much fun to use 🙂 Link below if anyone is interested!

I joined Jazzercise 3 months ago and I love it!
I am loving my Yoga classes to keep me happy through the holidays 🙂
Red velvet hot chocolate?!? Whhaaa?!? I need to find this asap!
I’m loving dippy eggs & coconut water lately!
That ‘how you talk’ survey is pretty spot on! Mine even pinpointed me to WI, which is where I’m living now – even though I’d lived in FL for 8 years. Pretty accurate (and kinda funny)!
I too share the love for oversized sweaters right now! Also loving my new Vitamix and Once a Again Almond Butter! I love watching my furry baby Ollie try so desperately to keep his eyes open so he doesn’t miss anything!
I am loving oversize sweaters lately also, I actually received a few for Christmas. And that hot chocolate sounds amazing!
I just took that dialect quiz…I wasn’t sure if all of my answers lined up with where I’m from, but WOW! It was spot on!! My top city was San Antonio, Texas- where I was born & still live!
I was really curious to take the dialect quiz, since I live in Canada (British Columbia to be exact). I assumed I would get Seattle or some place close to me, but I got Lincoln and Omaha Nebraska, and Des Moines Iowa…odd since i have never been to any of those places (or anywhere near them!) But, not so odd, since I have been told multiple times that I sound “American” haha
So glad to hear your mom is doing well, what a great christmas gift for your family!
I’m loving that I am moving to a new office for work today!
I wish we had more traditions, I’m trying to get my family onboard the tradition train. I’m loving time off of work right now!
Took the dialect quiz & I got Tulsa, Wichita, and Oklahoma City. Weird because I’ve never lived west of the Mississippi or anywhere close to Oklahoma. I’ve lived in northwestern PA my whole life except when I went to college in Cleveland. Although this area does contain the same dialect that was shaded for NW Pa. I am a grammar and pragmatics enthusiast so I tend to use words and terms that aren’t “native” to my area.
