Also, I had to laugh when I said Ryan’s work travel is done until June last week because it most definitely was not and I completely forgot about his 2-day Chicago trip this week. He’ll be back around dinnertime today though so at least it was a quick one and we’ll have the full weekend together! We’re planning a Mother’s Day trip to the zoo (this has quickly become our annual tradition and I love it so much) and I’m looking forward to a weekend with my guys!
I’ll try to take some pictures so I can have a weekend recap to share with you guys on Monday but until then, keep on scrolling for this week’s roundup of favorites, Things I’m Loving Friday style!

Muffins for Mom
Rhett and Ryder’s preschool had their annual Muffins for Mom Mother’s Day event yesterday and it was all kinds of adorable. The boys greeted me at their classroom door, led me to a tiny chair at a tiny kid-size table and served me a gigantic blueberry muffin with strawberries on the side. They absolutely beamed throughout the whole event. As I was doing my makeup before the event, Ryder went into my closet and asked me to wear my “pretty blue dress” to be fancy for the occasion which melted me. And the fact that he drew his hair spikes on the plate he made for me — ugh my heart.
The little things truly are the big things and kids remind me of this over and over again.
Also, I was shocked with the accuracy of Rhett’s Mother’s Day craft this year! I’m so used to the boys saying I’m 1,000 years old or something like that and his answers were surprisingly right on point. “Less than 40” — I mean, I’ll take it!
Last summer was our first summer in our new house and we had so much fun creating our first garden and buying various pots to put on our front and back porches, back patio, etc. to fill with beautiful flowers. We had the best luck with hydrangeas in our front porch flower pots and they transferred to our backyard beautifully and are coming back in full-force this spring which has been so fun to see. With more plants and flowers to water than ever before, I figured we could use an additional watering can because so often the kids will want to help water and two cans make the watering go by twice as fast!
When I saw this gorgeous galvanized steel watering can on sale last week (it’s originally $60!), I couldn’t resist. It’s absolutely stunning and holds a lot of water but isn’t crazy-heavy when completely full. It’s so pretty that I’ve been leaving it out in our laundry room because I love the pop of color the green and copper colors bring to the space when placed on top of my grandmother’s stepping stool.
You know those tops you put on that make you instantly go, “Ooooh yes, this is a good one!” That was this workout top for me. I saw another woman wearing it at Burn last week and then, since the internet knows everything, an Amazon ad for the same top popped up for me on Instagram. Well if fate thinks I should have this top, then I should have this top. I added it to my cart and tried it on the minute it arrived on our front porch. Love at first sight! It’s such a cute little top and the wide straps make it extra flattering.
I wore it to leg day at Burn this week and got so many compliments that it made me think, “Hmm, maybe I should order the pink, too?” So the pink color is now on its way to my house as well. LOVE IT. (Note: I sized up one size and was glad it did. I have a small chest and usually wear a small in tops and sports bras but got this one in a medium.)
