Things I’m Loving Friday #58

November 7, 2014 by Julie 92 Comments

Good morning, my friends! How are you doing today? Things are going well over here so far and I have a feeling they’ll only improve because Ryan and I have a friend arriving in town today to spend the weekend with us. We’re picking Ben up from the airport early this afternoon and we have an active weekend planned that will be filled with lots of outdoor fun, food and exploring!

But now let’s focus on your usual Friday post: Things I’m Loving Friday! Just in case you’re new around here, Things I’m Loving Friday is a weekly feature on PBF where we all chat about things we’re loving this week. Feel free to join in the fun in the comments section of this post and tell me about something that’s making you smile this week!

Things I’m Loving Friday

  • Hint Peppermint Water

Hint Peppermint Water

My mom and I share an intense love for Hint peppermint water and I’m so happy it’s back in stores for the holiday season. It’s incredibly refreshing and probably my favorite Hint flavor. So good!

  • Angie’s Holidrizzle Iced Gingerbread Popcorn

Angies Gingerbread Popcorn

It’s a fact: If Angie’s makes a holiday flavored popcorn, I will buy it. And so, naturally, this Holidrizzle Iced Gingerbread kettle corn found its way into my cart at The Fresh Market earlier this week. It is absolutely bursting with gingerbread flavor and the sweet icing drizzle is so darn delicious. It’s a new holiday favorite, for sure!

  • 19 Stores That Are Dog Friendly

I figured my fellow dog lovers would appreciate this one! Some of them really surprised me (Pottery Barn!?), but the article makes sure to note that pet policies do vary store-to-store. Still pretty cool! I wouldn’t feel comfortable bringing Sadie to most of these places, but she is quickly becoming a big fan of Lowe’s now that we know she’s allowed there!

  • Columbia Mighty Lite Vest

lakenormanstatepark.png

Columbia Mighty Lite Vest.jpg

This vest!! A few of you asked about it before and I have nothing but great things to say about it! I ordered the vest from NordstromRack.com a few weeks ago and have worn it several times a week since. It’s lighter weight than a typical down vest, but the Omni-Heat insulation makes it super warm. It’s the perfect vest to wear in between fall and winter and I think it will be great for wintertime running, too!

  • The Cutest Thing You’ll See All Day

I owe Ryan a big thank you for bringing this ridiculously adorable video into my life. If you’re looking for a  little something to make your heart melt this morning, check out this video of a rescued otter pup. I just want to snuggle with her! So stinkin’ cute!

  • Starbucks Bringing Back Eggnog

Eggnog Starbucks

Did you guys hear Starbucks was going to do away with eggnog on the east coast this year? I actually tried to order a chai eggnog latte when we were in Savannah last weekend and was super bummed when the barista told me eggnog on the east coast was no more. Well, apparently Starbucks got some intense feedback when they removed it from the menu and ended up reversing their decision. Eggnog remains! WOO! And if you haven’t ordered a chai eggnog latte before, please do so before the holiday season is over. You won’t be disappointed!

  • Giveaway Winners

Congratulations to Kalynn C., the winner of the Montiel Activewear Giveaway! And congratulations to Laura C. and Sally, the two winners of the Nordstrom Clearance Sale Giveaway! All giveaway winners were emailed first thing this morning. Thanks to all who entered!

I’m loving the feeling of Holidays coming into full swing! I’m already busy planning what Christmas presents to get everyone and already bought my sister hers (and I’m super excited about it!) and getting my boyfriend his once it comes back in stock! I always say I dread this time of year, but then when it comes, I can’t get enough of holiday shopping for friends/family!

PB2. I discovered it on a blog, but I was always wary of it before, because I was worried it was fake peanut butter with all kinds of chemicals, but after looking at the ingredient list, I discovered not a funky ingredient to be found. 45 calories for 2 tablespoons (mix with one tablespoon of water for peanut butter). I’ve been adding it to my morning green smoothie for a peanut butter green monster without all the calories. Delicious! My grocery store brand also carries a chocolate version, and hazelnut. I see Ferrero Rocher inspire smoothies in my future! 😀

I’m loving an older item you talked about in your hair product post. I’ve been trying the “hair won’t grow past a certain length” mask you mentioned, and I’m loving it. I have layers that will NOT grow out. I’ve been using this mask every other day, and my hair is getting longer and stronger after a month! Thanks for the suggestion 🙂

Hi Julie. Have you ever heard of doterra? It’s a line of essential oils that can be used for many different purposes. Main point is you can add a drop or two of peppermint essential oil into your water. You can do this with any essential oil that is all natural. My friends and I love doing it. Peppermint water year round!

I love dogs (and cats, and all animals, really), but I don’t think they belong in any store. My boyfriend is highly allergic to dogs and we’ve had to leave stores because someone had a dog there.

I can understand people don’t want to leave their pet at home and think it would be fun for their dog to accompanying them to the store, but the vast majority of dogs I’ve seen in stores look stressed out. Not to mention all the inattentive pet owners who let their dogs pee in the aisle and then walk away. I think people should leave their pets at home for the sake of the animal and the allergic people.
