What is it about Fridays that instantly lift my mood? Friday is, without a doubt, my favorite day of the week. I love the anticipation of weekend fun and I feel like everyone is a little happier on Fridays.
Ryan and I have plans to attend a cocktail party on Saturday night which I am sure will be a welcomed treat after I spend all day spinning my booty off at a training in Charlotte. I am really looking forward to it!
But now it’s time to dive right into your usual Things I’m Loving Friday post where we chat about things that are making us smile every week. Please feel free to chime in below in the comments section of this post.
Have a wonderful weekend, my friends! I’m off to teach PiYo!
Thing I’m Loving Friday
- Blackberries
Fresh blackberries aren’t exactly cheap and all too often when I end up splurging on a pint or two, they end up tasting a bit sour. Well, this week I bought a few 1/2 pints because they were buy one, get one free at the grocery store and I totally lucked out because every pint so far has been sweet and absolutely bursting with wonderful berry flavor. YES!
This collection of eye-catching infographics is so, so awesome. And each one really does a great job of simplifying healthy eating in a beautiful, visual way. Love it!
- National Peanut Butter Day
Tomorrow is National Peanut Butter Day! If you share my love for the delicious nut butter, here are a few recipes you might enjoy to help you celebrate: Peanut Butter Protein Bars (<—most popular PBF recipe of 2011!), Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies, Peanut Butter Granola, Oatmeal Peanut Butter Banana Cookies, Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookie Dough Overnight Oats (<— my favorite overnight oats recipe!)
- Girl Scout Cookies
Girl Scout cookie season is upon us. HOORAY! Ryan bought five boxes from a coworker and the two of us housed a box of Caramel DeLites last night. (What? Don’t act like it’s a hard thing to do…) My favorites have always been Thin Mints and Caramel DeLites (aka Samoas), but the new-to-me Lemonade shortbread cookies Ryan bought are also surprisingly good!
- Love for Leggings
I shared this on Instagram last week after I saw it on a Pure Barre studio’s page and love it way too much. Leggings fo’ life!
- This Boot Camp Workout
I taught a boot camp class at the gym this week and took the class through a variation of this throwback PBF workout.
Directions: Complete each station in the above workout for three minutes before moving onto the next. You will likely finish all of the exercises in each station before three minutes are up, so simply repeat the exercises over and over again until three minutes are over. Rest as needed, but try to keep things moving!
It’s a sweaty one, that’s for sure!
Have you guys seen this new flavor of Perky Jerky? It’s delicious and a great grab-and-go protein-packed snack option. This week I’ve been pairing the jerky with an apple for a great mid-morning snack!
- A Few Great Sales…
- Hautelook’s Columbia sale featuring my favorite Minx boots! I swear I wear them every single day.
- Zulily’s Athleta sale featuring a bunch of cute leggings (love the ombré!), tops and jackets. They also have a New Balance sale going on right now that randomly has some awesome deals on Garmin watches thrown in, too!
- Old Navy is offering 20% off everything today with the code SAVEBIG. (Love this $10 scarf!)

I was so anxious for my fav post of the week I kept refreshing my page until the students came in, lol
Thanks for starting my day off with a great read! I just recently pinned that leggings quote, now more than ever since I’m preggo with twins!!
Things I’m loving-my new Ugg Classic cardy boots that were popular, oh….. 4 years ago, lol
aw, this made me smile. thanks so much for reading!! <3
Haha, I still love my UGG boots! No shame 😉
me too!! 🙂
I love that they’re called Caramel Delites in your area too (Central PA here). It seems like most of the country is “Samoas”. I never knew them as Samoas until my husband called them that – and his hometown is only 4 hours across the state!
ME TOO!!! I grew up in Illinois and they were always Caramel DeLites! Then, when I moved to FL, they were Samoas and I am so happy to be back in a place that calls them by their RIGHT name. 😉
I am SO with you regarding leggings. I HATE JEANS! They are so uncomfortable. I wear leggings almost every day in the colder months with a long top/tunic. When I do wear jeans, which is RARE, my husband is like “whoa, you’re wearing jeans?!” haha. I’m also loving those boots at the end of the post.
agreed!! leggings = the best!
Blackberries near me were $1 for half a pint the other day…the sale ended far too quickly! And thanks for sharing the Old Navy sale code. I think 70% of my closet is made of Old Navy apparel. Have a great weekend!
I am loving that it will finally be back in the 60’s in Florida this weekend! It’s been rather warm this past week.
Last week I started watching White Collar and have to say I’m totally head over heels for the show! Funny and suspenseful it’s definitely got something for everyone. Samoas are my favorite too!!
I am all about fruit this week. I’ve been making “fruit cups” for dessert with sliced berries & bananas topped with chocolate chips, pomegranate seeds and melted almond butter. Sooo good!
Hi Julie! I’ve been following your blog for awhile and I always love your “Things I’m Loving Friday” posts! I am very new to the blogging world and just started my own on wordpress (https://sweatelove.wordpress.com/). I’ve used some of the tips from your blogging beginner posts and they have been really helpful. Especially the tip to keep a cohesive theme- I am still working on that hahah. If you want to check out my blog and have any feedback I would really appreciate it! I’m really impressed by your blog success. Also that legging instagram post is one of the funniest things I’ve seen in awhile- I had to send it to a bunch of my friends!
yay!!! congrats on your new blog! 🙂 can’t wait to check it out!
I’m totally loving grapefruit this week! I haven’t ate it in a while and this week I’m all about the grapefruit.
Oh gosh, Samoas are my downfall. I can’t ever eat just one…or two…or three…hahaha. Thin Mints will probably always be my favorite Girl Scout cookie, but MAN do I love me some Samoas.
National peanut butter day? Oh I’ll be all over celebrating that!
I love fresh blackberries too but they’re always soooo expensive!
Caramel DeLites are the best! I haven’t had one in way too long! And sweet blackberrys are so yummy! I’m really excited for fresh fruit season again! I feel like all the fresh produce is kind of bland at the grocery store right now.
This week I love running and eating (chocolate).
AHHH! I’m so stoked for Girl Scout cookie season. I’ve always been more of a thin mint girl and have so many good memories of buying 3285903 boxes and feasting on them with a glass of milk when I got home from school with my sister.
I’m loving my two new personal training clients!
this buzzfeed article made me think of you for your love of leggings! I love them too 🙂

Fresh blackberries are truly the best! I think they’re probably my favorite berry.
I totally need to get some Girl Scout Cookies! Samoas and Tag A Longs are my top favorites!
Hope you have a great weekend! xo
Great stuff in that Athleta sale… thanks for the tip!
I love all berries – I can’t wait for them to be back in season. This week I’m loving my new job and that my boyfriend got his diploma for his Masters degree. Have a great weekend!
I love sweet blackberries. Sour one are so dissappoin ting. I also completely agree with you about leggings – they are the best!
Perky Jerky! I ate that so much when we were living in GA and I always was at the gym…Years ago. Funny stuff! 😉
I am so glad that there is a whole community who seems to agree with the leggings comment! I was starting to get worried about the fact that I haven’t worn jeans in over a month! haha Once you go leggings you never go back!
:O Those soups look amazing! Pinned that 🙂
x
I still cannot get past seeing samoas as caramel del lites. So weird! 😉
I am definitely on board with the girl scout cookies and leggings. Lately I have been loving the book The Last Lecture. I have read it a number of times and always seem to pick it up when life throws unexpected curve balls my way. This past week has been a rollercoaster and the book makes me smile!
That diagram is awesome! And I’m also SO EXCITED for GS Cookies!
Hi Julie!
I also look forward to this post every week. I finally tried out The Charlotte Bar Method classes after you posted about it a few weeks ago… and it was totally “a thing I am loving this Friday.” I am an avid crossfitter and runner and found that The Bar Method really completes my exercise routine. Within the first week I see results and feel results. It is such a welcoming environment and all together so fun! I really loved it! AND FREE CLASSES! Now that’s a steal!
Thanks for your posts!
Ann
that’s awesome!!! i still need to make it down there to try one out!
I had no idea that Samoas went by another name! Im going to have to research this. Super weird!
I will definitely have to check out that bootcamp workout. Those along with HIIT and circuit workouts are my favorites!
Good favorites! Yes, I’ve had Perky Jerky. So in addition to preparing to move this weekend, my husband and I have reservations at a Speak-Easy bar in downtown San Francisco, which you need a password to enter. You can’t use cell phones in there either. Looking forward to it. Have fun at your training and party!
Hahaha I am 100% with you on the leggings front. I will wear leggings all I please! LOVE them. anyone who says they don’t must be lying 😉
I’m loving that the week is over! ha It was a long one for me. I saw those graphics for making healthy eating easier and they are so helpful!
It’s been so long since I’ve had girl scout cookies! Love the leggings illustration lol! Have a great weekend.

Leggings aren’t pants- they’re better and 100x more comfortable than pants! Love ’em!
It’s a bit sad how many Columbia pieces have become staples in my wardrobe! I wear my omnilite vest ALLLLL the time and am a sucker for their beanies! Those boots are definitely making my must-have list!
me too!!! the quality of their stuff can’t be denied! 🙂
Love that workout and I am SO excited for peanut butter day, hahahaha!
Running the 3M Austin Half Marathon on Sunday with about 7 other girlfriends!
good luck, kelsie!
Leggings + boots + Girl Scout cookies = the happiest version of me you will ever meet. <3
Yay for Things I’m Loving Friday! Love this post every week. 🙂 I’m looking forward to a night out with my gal pal tonight–it’s my first night out without my husband or baby since the little one was born (ummm…8 months ago). I am so excited for some girl time!
Have a great weekend!
This blog is so inspiring! I’m definitely adding it to my bookmark 🙂 I’m excited to graduate my teacher mentorship and teach my first real yoga class in studio tomorrow for all my mentors, friends and loved ones!
so exciting! congratulations to you!
I’m loving jerky lately, I’ll have to try that one!
I’m also loving the new truffle salt almonds at Trader Joe’s. YUMMMM
Don’t blackberries grow wild in the US? Too hot? We have tons of them in Autumn in the UK all for free! Blackberry & apple crumble is the usual way we use them up!
I’m going to Olive Garden tonight as part of date night with my boyfriend. I haven’t been there in about 1-2 years and I can’t wait for their bread sticks, soup, and garlic rosemary chicken!!!!!! I’ve been getting in some extra work outs today because of this. And tomorrow I’m having a ‘Friend’s Marathon’ with a girlfriend of mine since she got the entire series on DVD for Xmas.
As for soup, I have a Wolfgang Puck’s 10,000 Lakes Minestrone soup cooking on the stove and the house smells amazing!!!!! It has so much healthy stuff in it and it’ll be great for lunch at work this week.
I love those boots so much I had looked into getting them a few weeks back… but the Canadian site didn’t have my size (isn’t that always the case).
My newest love to go along with your leggings is LEG WARMERS! I’m addicted to them for my training sessions. They made my Friday Favorites post today 😉 Bring back the 80s!
I went to Costco yesterday and they had strawberries out for sale and it got me SO EXCITED that we’re only a few months away from fruit season!!! Yummmmm.
Girl Scout Cookies?! I love them too much especially the thin mints!
We’re going out to dinner with my family tonight!
National PB day tomorrow I can’t wait!!! I’ve been absolutely loving leggings lately… my favourites are the Lulu wunderunders.. I have one pair in black that I wear with absolutely everything, they were such a good investment! Have a great weekend!
That bootcamp workout looks killer and so sweaty! An awesome hour! I’ve been loving catching up on Cougar Town this week. Wine + Cougar Town = great time relaxing on the couch!
YES – leggings fo’ life! Real pants are so unnecessary.
Thanks for sharing that soup infographic!
Happy Friday!
I’m off to NYC to visit my brother and attend a dance audition! 🙂
