Good morning and happy, happy Friday! It seems like everyone is a little more chipper on Friday morning, so let’s ride the good mood vibe into the weekend!
Our plans include spending time with friends, an outdoor concert, hiking with Sadie and some TV time with House of Cards on Sunday night.
Now for your usual Friday post filled with a bunch of things that are making me smile this week…
As always, please feel free play along in the comments section of this post!
Things I’m Loving Friday
- Online Bathing Suit Shopping
I strongly dislike shopping for bathing suits in stores. I know it’s probably 10 times harder to find a cute suit that actually looks good on my body without trying it on first, but I much prefer shopping for swimsuits online. I have two girls’ weekend trips planned (one in April and a bachelorette party in May) and I’m in the market for a new swimsuit. I’ve been searching online for a cute new suits and a few different options that I’m considering include: L*Space fringe bikini top (in coral, black or citrus), Victoria’s Secret ruched bikini bottom (in Ikat), Target Mossimo hipster bikini bottom, Victoria’s secret white lace bandeau bikini top, Target Mossimo mix and match bandeau top, Target Mossimo printed side tie bikini bottom
With all the dog love that happens on this blog, it’s time to share some love with the cat owners out there! I hope this makes you smile!
- Earth Origins Bulk Bin Trail Mix
Finally a trail mix that understands that I want the chocolate to nut/raisin/other ingredient ratio to be 1:1.
- Sister Hazel Concert
Ryan and I are going to a Sister Hazel concert tomorrow night and the ‘90s music lover in me is psyched! “Champagne High” is one of my all-time favorite songs and I can’t wait to sing my face off.
I made another batch of these granola bars last night after dinner but changed up the add-ins. I combined pecans, mini chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and toasted coconut and the end result was too delicious not to share! YUM.

Ahhh Sister Hazel FTW!! My favorite song of theirs is “Your Winter” and I saw them in concert when I was in high school. (They opened for Sugar Ray but I was way more interested in seeing them!) Have fun!!
Julie says
Love that song, too!
Sarah @ Sarah Sincerely says
I’m with you, so many more bathing suit options online! I can usually guarantee I’ll purchase at least 1 new suit from Target. Victoria’s Secret is another good go-to. Sister Hazel used to come perform at different events all the time when I was in college! Such a fun show and so much fun reliving the good ole 90’s days!
Karen says
Target and Vicky’s are my favorite bathing suits! Target has a lot of cute ones out now. I have the tassel bikini you posted in bright pink and it is very cute on a blonde!!!
Stephanie @ Whole Health Dork says
Oh, man. Sister Hazel. That brings me back!
Lately I’m loving that I’m getting to cross a bunch of 80s/90s bands off my bucket list! Up next is NIN with Soundgarden in July!

Stop it with that cat picture. It’s great and extremely accurate! 🙂
Have an amazing time at the concert and thanks so much for linking up for Friday Favorites! <3

I know it’s not Friday anymore but I am loving being able to sleep in the weekend – stressful week = thank goodness for sleepy lazy Saturday morning
Nikki @ grab your kicks says
I have that Target Mossimo bandeau top in black and I love it! It fits great and feels more expensive than it is. I looked online first too, but purchased it in store.
Ellie@Fit for the soul says
You’re brave for bikini shopping online, Julie!! 😛 And I have only found ONE bikini that I liked and actually looked decent on me, and that’s the one I wore during our honeymoon in Kauai. Anyway, I’m very conservative with what I wear and never feel comfortable in a bikini, but you? You look so good in them! Must be the looooong torso.
Greta @ fueledbyfresh says
I love making homemade granola bars too! Mine are generally more like lara bars but still super yummy! Also gotta love a great trail mix, especially while hiking!!
Kelly says
I like online bathing suit shopping too, especially when there are free returns 🙂
Anne @strawberryjampackedlife says
Enjoy Sister Hazel! I saw them in concert about 12 years ago, and they were AWESOME live!! I hope it’s a nice small intimate venue. They truly care about the fans.
Anne @strawberryjampackedlife says
We even took pictures with them after the concert in the lobby! My friend is the biggest Sister Hazel fan that has ever lived, so she was psyched. She’s seen them probably more times than she can count.
Runner Girl Eats says
I am a big fan of mix and match tops and am loving the fringe trend! Also, I love Sister Hazel. I’ve seen them a few times and they never fail to impress.
Shawna says
Hey Julie!
I’m glad you mentioned swimsuits because I have a question for you:
As someone with a long torso (which I also have) do you ever wear one piece swimsuits? If so, do you have any websites you would reccomend? I am having the hardest time finding a cute one piece for long torso’s.
Thanks!
Shawna

Blue Apron! I havn’t signed up for the service, but I receive emails with recipes in them and have currently made a go at three. All of them were insanely delicious, totally creative and, best of all, my husband loved every single one! He’s not very adventurous when it comes to food, so these meals were a bit of a risk. In the end, so worth it! I’m trying to incorporate one of their recipes into my meal plans every week.

I have had terrible luck buying bathing suit online since having my son. I used to really know my sizes at several stores, but a shopping trip is necessary for success, I think. I’m loving the warmer weather up here in Virginia. Finally!
