Friday is here!!! WOOP! I am so ready for the weekend. We have lots of fun stuff on the agenda, which segues perfectly into the first bullet point I have for today’s Things I’m Loving Friday post!
Please feel free to play along and share something you’re loving in the comments section of this post! I always love reading about things that are making you smile.
Things I’m Loving Friday
I am running the 26.2 with Donna Breast Cancer Marathon Relay with Ryan, my dad, my sister and my sister’s fiancé this weekend. We are running in honor of my mom on Sunday and I am really excited! I am kicking off the marathon relay with the first spot on our relay team and will be running 6 miles. Time to round up my pink race-day outfit!
On occasion, when I blog about my favorite flavored coffees, a few of you will leave comments along the lines of, “I wish I could try a bunch of different coffee flavors, but I only have a Keurig.” We also only have a Keurig at our house, but I don’t buy K-Cups and brew whatever flavored coffee I am loving at the moment using my refillable K-Cup. It’s fabulous, more cost-effective and better for the environment, too!
- Adorable Animal Links
Pictures of adorable animals will never get old. Two super-cute links of note this week:
1. Before/After Animal Pictures <— Shared on the PBF Facebook page earlier this week and way too adorable
I think I need to submit this picture of Sadie at the vet to be included in the above roundup:
Can you tell she loves her vet!?
- Long Workout Leggings
I am 5’7’’ and while I realize this is not extremely tall, it’s tall enough to make the length of certain compression leggings feel too short. During my sister’s bachelorette party, I lent my pair of Old Navy compression leggings to Leslie’s friend Colleen who is 5’10’’. She was thrilled when she pulled them on and they were actually long enough to cover her whole leg. (I wear these workout leggings with sweaters and boots all the time. Shhh.) More favorite workout leggings: Moving Comfort Urban Gym Tight (I have them in “black space dye”) and the Reebok One Series Legging. (And for those who love cute workout gear as much as I do, how cute is this Moving Comfort tunic!? I saw it when I was looking for the link to the leggings I like and fell in love. It’s on my birthday wish list… for April.)
A few months ago, I tried kombucha (a fermented tea-based beverage) for the first time and was not a fan. I wrote about my experience on the blog, using eloquent descriptive words along the lines of “it tastes like armpit” or something of the sort. When the folks at Clearly Kombucha emailed me and encouraged me to try their kombucha, I told them I wasn’t a fan of kombucha and that the creepy slimy stuff in the drink gave me the heebie jeebies. They assured me that their kombucha didn’t have any of the phlegm-like stuff that creeped me out before and told me I should give kombucha another chance. (Many of you guys echoed similar sentiments!) Well, I’m glad I did because I am completely swayed. I’m not sure whether I picked a horrible flavor before or if a big sip of creepy slimy stuff is what turned me off to the drink in the past, but the two bottles of Clearly Kombucha I drank this week were so different. I liked that they weren’t overly sweet but just sweet enough to be palatable. I already placed an order on Amazon for more of the raspberry ginger kombucha to have around the house as a special treat!

- Have you ever run in a race as part of a relay team? Any tips?

I am loving the Girl Scout tagalong cookie that I just ate! It’s Girl Scout cookie season!!!
Sara @ LovingOnTheRun says
I love the refillable K-Cups! I use them and they help us save a lot of money! My mom just sent me actual K-cups which made me pretty happy, but for the most part I just buy the coffee in bulk.
Kate @ Coffee with Kate says
I’m nervous to try Kombucha too but the raspberry ginger one looks the best of them all. I’ll def try now.
Kelly says
Today I am loving warm weather and that I just interviewed for a job and (I think) it went well 🙂
Ali says
I love kombucha, but my husband doesn’t. Maybe we’ll have to try that brand too! This week we got our Bakerstone Pizza Box for the grill and tried it. It was amazing and is now the only way we’ll cook pizza!
Elizabeth {Positively Healthy} says
I wanted to like Kombacha so much but the taste was just awful! I would be interested in trying this brand! I love my reusable K-cup as well, but I really love your pink one! I have been using my tights for gym sessions as well and I love Brooks Infinity Tight, which partners with Moving Comfort, so I will have to try theirs out!
Lauren @ The Bikini Experiment says
Have a great time at the relay! It’s wonderful you are doing that with your family. I actually do love the taste of Kombucha, but I would give this one a try too. Thanks for the suggestion!
Stephanie at Whole Health Dork says
Good to know about the kombucha. I’ve been wanting to try it, but have been a bit hesitant. I’ll have to check out that brand!
Abi@AbsofSteel says

Nicole says
What if they had cute animals in workout leggings?? (I think my head would explode!!) 🙂 🙂
Abi@AbsofSteel says
I’m not going to lie, I just tried to look that up to see if it existed. no luck 🙁
Ashley @ Brocblog says
I’m tall too and old navy tights are the best! I also have to try that brand of kombucha because the slimy stuff gets to me.
Britani Sidwell says
oh heyoo! where did you get that cute pink k cup with the attached lid? we have a fillable cup, but the lid is separate….so i kinda like this one!
also, i’m loving hautelook. thank you for introducing me. i.cant.stop. but i got a STEAL on a leather Erica Anenberg bag and literally every woman i run into tells me how cute it is.
Betsy says
I had no idea you could be reusable k cups! I have held off on getting a keurig because I thought the kcups were so expensive, thanks for the awesome heads up!
Diana Mangam says
Do you get the leggings from Old Navy in Regular or Tall?
Nicole says
I am loving the Olympics….so much fun to watch sports that aren’t typically mainstream! That might be a reason why I am also loving “Bobsled Brownie” ice cream from Baskin Robbins. 😉
Coty and Mariah@quirksandtwists says
I do not know what I would do without my refillable K-cup! It really helps on saving money too!
Dallas says
I also love wearing workout leggings as tights with sweaters & boots! I’m excited this Friday because my friend Janet is coming into town for a visit! Woot!! Have a great time at the relay tomorrow, what an important cause!

Diana says
I am loving the fact that it is Friday. Ha. It felt like it would never get here.
Kara says
I recently started loving kombucha! It’s quite the expensive habit though 🙂 However, I feel like it tastes a tiny bit like sparkling wine and that makes me happy, haha!
Katie @ Live Half Full says
I love those refillable K-cups! We use them so we can have good, local coffee. The only downside is that they are a b*tch to clean!
Tara says
I have recently started being Gap Fit clothing and it is the best! Always great deals!!! I am 5’9 and their pants always fit well. Look for their sales 🙂 *Gap is the same company as old navy

Thanks for all the great info. This is my first time to your blog. I’m very interested in trying the kombucha tea. My Dad once grew his own kombucha mushroom. He said he used to talk to it to instill positive vibes. Lol. He would drink the tea, or the liquid that the mushroom lived in (yuck!). He described the flavor as a sharp, brisk tea with a heavy dose of vinegar.
I wonder if he will enjoy Clearly Kombucha since it doesn’t have the phlegm that he said he didn’t mind.
Cheers!

I’m running the Ragnar Relay race as a team…the biggest advice I can give is to have fun!!!!
I’ll be running the half marathon on Sunday, I was signed up for the full but am not fully trained. Good luck to you guys on the relay!!!!
Vanessa says
I’m running the 26.2 with Donna relay too this weekend, the last leg for me! I’ll keep my eyes out for you. It’s a fun run. Love reading your blog and seeing your references to Jax (my home town)!
Melissa says
I’ll be running the full in honor of my sister who passed away from breast cancer last year at the age of 30. It will be my 6th Donna. Be on the look out for our “team Michelle” shirts! 🙂
Kim says
Hey Julie! I’m on 75 driving passed signs that say “Ocala” and I thought of you! I’m from Massachusetts and have been following your blog for years!!
Lyric says
Those animal links are just <3 and you and Sadie are to cute!
Ally @ The Zebra Runner says
I am new yo blogging! Please check mine out!!!
Melissa @ Mango About Town says
I’ve ran a marathon relay before..it was the furthest distance I had ever run in my life. I am so obviously not a runner but my advice would be to make sure you know where your starting point is ahead of time and know which roads will be blocked due to the race. I nearly missed my incoming team-mate because we were late to my starting point due to traffic problems!
Brittany says
So I’ve been following your blog for awhile now and am a huge fan! I live in Jacksonville Beach, and this morning I was outside, waiting to see my friends run by in the Donna Marathon and I saw Ryan and your sister’s fiance run by! Since I’ve only ever seen them in your pictures on your blog, it felt like I was seeing a celebrity or something 🙂 Hope you all had a good race!!
Jan @ Sprouts n Squats says
Love all those animal pics they are too funny and too cute!
Remind me where your headband is from? I know you’ve mentioned it before but I can’t remember.
I hope the relay race went well. What a great cause to be running for.
I am 5″4 so no issues with pants being too short, sometimes I have the opposite issue and they are too long instead.
I hope you had a nice weekend in the end.
