Hi guys! This post is going up a little later than usual because Ryan and I ended up driving to Jacksonville last night. I jumped at the chance to take a 9:30 a.m. BodyPump class at my parents’ gym this morning, so everything got pushed back a little bit.
BodyPump is always worth a little rearranging!
Today’s class was a great one and my chest was on fire during the chest track! The highlight of the class for me came when they played a La Bouche song which quickly claimed a spot on today’s Things I’m Loving Friday list…
Things I’m Loving Friday
- La Bouche
As “Tonight Is the Night” started blaring in today’s BodyPump class, I had to will myself over and over again not to sing aloud. The La Bouche Sweet Dreams album is one heck of a jammin’ CD and as I sat down to type up this blog post, I’ve already turned to YouTube to blast “Be My Lover,” “Sweet Dreams,” and “Where Do You Go,” so I am feeling quite hyped up at the moment. I used to listen to La Bouche non-stop when the “Sweet Dreams” CD first came out and can still remember making up dances in my basement to “Be My Lover” with my best friend Michaela when we were younger. (I’m pretty sure that the super-impressive grapevine and the jazz square were the foundation of our amazing dance routines.)
- Pomsky
I had never heard of a pomsky until my friend Carrie told me about them last weekend. A quick Google image search resulted in my heart basically exploding from all of the cuteness. The pomsky (half Pomeranian, half husky) may be one of the cutest little dogs I have ever seen in my life. If you need to smile today, search for pictures of pomsky puppies. Adorable!
- Easter Treats
Easter is Sunday but that doesn’t mean I’ve waited to consume Easter treats. The mini Cadbury eggs are my favorite. So creamy and delicious! And have you tried the Starburst “Fav Reds” jellybeans? A package of only red and pink jellybeans!? Someone at Starburst deserves a raise for this idea. Yes!
Approximately two years ago, I received a bottle of Moroccan oil in a swag bag I received at the Fitness Magazine Meet ‘n’ Tweet event. Until earlier this month, it had been sitting in a drawer in my bathroom. After reading an article about the benefits of Moroccan oil for your hair (decreased breakage, increased shine, decreased frizziness), I decided to give it a go and have been applying it to the dry ends of my hair. I’m amazed at how quickly my hair soaks it up! My hair can get quite greasy at the roots, but the ends are always rather dry, so I’ve been applying a tiny bit to the ends and love the way it adds moisture to my hair.
- Delicate Gold Necklaces
Though I adore the look of bold, statement jewelry, something about the simple look of a delicate gold necklace always catches my eye. I’ve found myself wearing a basic gold necklace nearly every day and feel like the simple look goes with just about any outfit. My three favorites: Infinity necklace, cross necklace and Dogeared simple heart necklace (I also just bought this gold initial necklace for a newly-engaged friend with her husband-to-be’s initial on it. Love!)

I have never heard of Moroccan oils, but I am so interested in all of the different oils and what they can do for your body. I am wanting to learn more about them.
Megan @ The Skinny-Life says
The moroccon oil sounds amazing! I happy really long hair and not great about getting it trimmed. I definitely need to try this. I’m excited for Easter candy this weekend especially TJs chocolate covered sunflower seeds.
Julie says
Chocolate covered sunflower seeds are so tasty! I love it when they are a little salty, too!
Christine@ Apple of My Eye says
I was just telling my boyfriend, Kyle, that we NEED a pomsky in our lives when we’re older! They’re just so stinkin’ cute!
I love delicate gold necklaces as well. They have as much character as statement jewelry in their own subtle way :).
Happy Friday!
Runner Girl Eats says
La Bouche is giving me total elementary school flash backs right now! haha I may have to download some of that 😉 I am a total fan of delicate gold necklaces and think Dogeared has the greatest selection. I wore the heck out of my tiny gold wishbone necklace until it broke 🙁
Marissa @ Barefoot Colorado says
It’s my birthday on Easter, so that’s been getting me through this week with a smile! I can’t wait to spend the day with my family and boyfriend.
Julie says
Happy birthday Marissa!!!!!

BODYPUMP is a great way to start the weekend. You must have done an old release today, if it featured La Bouche. Hope you have a nice weekend:)
Julie says
I think it was release 74?
Britt says
Cadbury Mini Eggs rock my world! Whenever I mention them people think I’m talking about Cadbury Cream Eggs and get a disgusted facial expression. The mini eggs are my absolute favorite chocolate candy ever of all time. I hoard them from February to April so that I might hopefully have some left through the summer. 🙂
Kristi says
Cadbury Mini Eggs are my favorite too, hands down! I have to give myself pep talks when I pass them at the store, to keep myself from purchasing several large bags! THE. BEST. 🙂 Also, I went to Body Pump this morning as well! Looks like we’re having similar Fridays!
Amer says
They make fave reds regular Starbursts too…SO good (since those are the only ones I like anyways 😉 )
Pip {Cherries & Chisme} says
Ohhh MINIEGGS! The BEST thing about Easter chocolates… Going to have to ask my dad to buy me some to keep for when I get back to the UK I think 😀
Have a lovely weekend!
Polly @ Tasty Food Project says
Wow, La Bouche brings back memories! LOL! Montell Jordan’s “This is How We Do It” will always be one of my favorite old jams! I made sure that song was played at my wedding! haha
Ashley @ Brocblog says
I love the delicate necklace! I wear a lot of similar jewelry in silver because Im not much a jewelry person but I like small and subtle prettiness.
Stephanie @ Whole Health Dork says
Oh, man–La Bouche! That brings me back. Pretty sure one of their songs was on one of the Jock Jam CDs, too. I just heard a song earlier this week on the radio that I said, “I haven’t heard this in so long, brings me right back to middle school” and for the life of me, I can’t remember it. I did also hear some Everclear earlier this week, so that counts. I love me some 90s alterative!
That dog is adorable and I love that necklace. I am both a numbers nerd (statistics major in college) and 8 is my favorite number, so I love the infinity symbol.
Sarah @ Sweet Miles says
Holiday candy is always the best! I love festive times of the year, such a fun excuse to buy unnecessary candy and sugary goodness! 🙂
Anne @ CandyCrazedrun.wordpress.com says
Ok I can’t even handle how much I agree with your first three favs!
La Bouche… Yes, yes, yes! 90s music all the way!
I want a husky so bad I can’t stand it, but can’t handle a dog that big in my apartment. As soon as I discovered Pomskys’ I just about died of happiness haha.
Sara says
They make a regular starburst pack of favorite reds too! My husband and I were so excited when we found them haha. That dog is cute but based on my personal experience with pomeranians don’t think I’ll ever own one lol.
Katherine says
LOVE Moroccan oil! I use the shampoo and conditioner. It seriously the best and smells amazing!
Michelle @ A Healthy Mrs says
Cadbury Mini Eggs are the best/worst candy ever — best because they’re so darn good, but worst because they are SO ADDICTIVE! 🙂
Happy Friday!

OMG THAT SONG IS HILARIOUS. I completely forgot about it. I remember it at school dances hahahaha.
Pomsky! Adorable! But not as cute as my Pom or your Sadie 🙂
Stacie says
Hi, Julie! This is super random, but I was doing today’s Washington Post crossword puzzle and one clue was, “Central Florida City” and I already had the first letter as an “O.” Normally I would have defaulted to Orlando because it’s the only one I know, but due to your blog I realized I knew another one and put Ocala–and it was correct! 🙂

Brittney @ Sweets 'N' Greens says
Everytime I take a bodypump class I always find myself singing to at least one of the songs!
And Pomskys have to be the cutest dogs ever. I can’t stop looking at pics of them haha 🙂
Virdiana says
As I’m sure you are familiar with, working in an office comes with it’s fair share of daily temptations — right now in the form of Easter candy, cupcakes, etc. I try to combat the urge to eat them by keeping healthier snacks at my desk. Right now I am obsessed with the Archer Farms brand “honey cinnamon almonds” (found at Target)! They are seriously so good — a similar flavor combo to your peanut butter + cinnamon popcorn recipe you posted a while back. Really worth a try! 🙂

I love the newest release–they just keep getting more challenging!
Love the “reds” bag of jelly beans, but definitely can’t buy them or I end up eating them all!
Sky @ The Blonde In Black says
I’ve been loving listening to the Backstreet Boys lately!! And that pomsky is so adorable!! I’m not a small dog person, but that dog might win me over. Reeses anything is my favorite Easter candy!
Ashley says
OMGoodness, I’ve been listening to the spice girls during runs! My inner “12 year old” self is asking me why I even stopped listening! That Moroccan oil is heaven for the ends. I use the same stuff and i’m loving that it lasts forever!
Heather says
Hi Julie! I thought you could add this to the things you are loving. Saw it on One Kings Lane and it is right up your alley 🙂

Aragn oil is my current fave. Loving the Argan Magic Blow Straight and the Arganicare Hair Mask (not the same company, which it took me embarassingly long to figure out… my notes are on this post: http://clg1213.blogspot.com/2014/03/rambler-raves-rambler-rants.html). My hair is a bit different than yours though…super frizzy, naturally some messy place between curly and wavy so I blow-dry it straight (or flat iron if i feel fancy!)
Steph says
I would LOVE a Pomsky – my sister told me about them a few months back, and between that and Scottish Fold kittens, the world is all unicorns and rainbows.
I will have to look out for Moroccan Oil, as I have the same problem with my hair. Thanks for the tip!
Emily@WhateverFloatsYourOats says
I love La Bouche!!
John Harris @ Shortcut Workouts says
I wonder what the effects of the marrocan oil will be on my hair 🙂
Sarah @ Sarah Sincerely says
Thank goodness someone at Starburst wised up and realized that pinks and reds really are the best flavors. 😉 I love that necklace!
Kate says
I use that Moroccan oil too, and I love it! I only put it on the hair that would be in my ponytail (otherwise my roots get too shiny too!), but I love that you can use it on dry or wet hair. Glad you’re enjoying it!
