It’s Friday and the only thing on my mind today is my girls’ weekend in Sarasota!
The fun kicks off around 10 p.m. tonight when I pick up my friends in Tampa and I can’t wait! It’s safe to say that the anticipation of seeing my girlfriends is the thing I’m loving most this Friday, but here are a few other highlights…
Things I’m Loving Friday
Why have I never used a pen like this before!? After painting my nails last night, I used this pen to remove the excess polish that inevitably ended up on my finger rather than on my nail. It was precise and effective and I wish I would’ve discovered this years ago.

I don’t know how I stumbled upon SeamusObrien’s Instagram account, but the pictures featured on this account are incredible. Such gorgeous photography, creative angles and many adorable animal pictures! SeamusObrien’s account linked to the BiddytheHedgehog account one day which is also worth mentioning because it is so ridiculously cute. Check out this video and try not to smile!
- Evening Ice Cream
Truth be told, Ryan and I try not to keep ice cream in the house very often because neither of us have an “off” switch when it comes to eating the sweet and creamy dessert. Well, earlier this week we were in charge of bringing dessert to game night at a friend’s house and ended up leaving with some leftover ice cream. Every night since, Ryan and I have sat down to a bowl of ice cream after dinner. Two flavors we’ve been loving lately: Publix’s It’s Your Birthday Cake and Graeter’s Mint Chocolate Chip. (<—Lots of thick, huge chocolate chips in that one!)
- Your Book Recommendations
I finished reading After Her last night and thanks to your book recommendations on my Wednesday morning post, I have a short list of books to pick up at the library this afternoon! Books on my radar: Me Before You, Dark Places, The Bride Will Keep Her Name and Sharp Objects
A couple of weeks ago I fell in love with these sandals from Anthropologie, but I felt like there must be a cheaper version out there somewhere. I pictured them with cuffed skinny jeans and a casual white v-neck tee or a flowy white top and thought they’d be an adorable summer staple. Thanks to my friend Merri who told me to search for “t-strap sandals” online (I didn’t know what to call them!), I found these sandals from American Eagle for a more reasonable $30. They’re now on my birthday wish list!

My husband and I are the same way with ice cream! We rarely buy it for the house, usually only randomly when we’re out and about so it’s a single serving that doesn’t come home. But if you like ice cream, you should check out Talenti gelato. That’s really good!
Ice cream and froyo are my weakness too! I don’t have a big sweet tooth, but I love me some ice cream! 🙂

I finally tried out your no bake granola bars and they came out delicious! Made them with pumpkin seeds, pecans, and golden raisins and sprinkled cinnamon on top. Im having a hard time sticking to one piece!

I LOVE Graeter’s!! I’m from Louisville, KY so we have shops here (which can be dangerous!). I think they have the best ice cream because of the thick chocolate chips!

As much as I found Boris (our old Hedgehog… R.I.P!) to be annoying and really scary to me (he “blew up” and huffed at me… it sounded like a helicopter). I can’t help but miss the lil’ grump..

I spy Graeter’s ice cream! That is a staple of my childhood – grew up right outside of Cincinnati where that was founded. If you haven’t already, you must try the Black Raspberry Chip and/or Coconut Chip – insanely delicious!

Mmmmm, Graeter’s! I’m so excited that my hometown ice cream has gone nationwide. I worked at a Graeter’s store in Cincinnati back in high school. Want to know how they make those giant chips? While they’re making the ice cream, they pour in liquid bittersweet chocolate. However the chocolate hardens, that’s how the chips are.
I went to an amazing boxing class Thursday night!! All my muscles are sore today and I love it! I also can’t keep ice cream in the house!!! I would blink and it would be gone 🙂

Juli! I love the Birthday cake ice-cream from publix, its one of my favorites! (The blue icing is so good). Also, you need to try the raspberry chocolate chip from Greaters. It’s seriously the best ever, so rich in flavor and I usually am not a huge raspberry fan but this is to die for!!
I’m in need of wardrobe overhaul for spring. I love how you share cheaper version of great styles. It’s such an inspiration. I love a good deal, especially because I’m on a teacher’s salary.
