Hello and happy Friday!
I think Geico needs to come up with a Friday commercial that rivals their Hump Day commercial. Nothing gets me more excited than yelling, “Whoot! Whoot!” in a high pitched voice or “Hump Daaay! Yeah!” like the camel on Wednesday mornings. Friday is already a stellar day, but imagine how fabulous it would be if we had a hilarious talking animal to imitate every Friday? Get on it, Geico.
Since it’s Friday and my mind is all over the place, I figured a roundup post that touched on some of the things I’m loving lately would be fun. If I tried talking about breakfast today, I’m pretty sure this post would turn into a bunch of tangents anyway, so let’s stick with somewhat of a theme, shall we?
Feel free to play along and share some of your recent loves in the comments section of this post!
Things I’m Loving Friday
- Target Up & Up Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer
Ever since my beloved Dove Energy Glow lotion was discontinued, I’ve been on the lookout for a quality build-a-tan lotion that adds a touch of color to my skin without a funky smell. I wanted one that moisturized my skin and didn’t leave behind orange streaks. I loved the feel of this lotion right away and noticed that my skin looked slightly more tan after using it daily for about a week. Now it’s my go-to daily lotion and I’m loving it!
My friend Leah first told me about StitchFix (<—affiliate link!) and then I saw it pop up all over the place! For those of you in the dark about StitchFix, it’s a personal styling service. You fill out a questionnaire about your clothing and accessory preferences and budget and a stylist mails you a box of five items that they think you will like. You can keep everything or mail it back (minus a $20 styling fee that can be applied toward any of the items if you choose to keep something).
I signed up months ago, but I didn’t place an order until last week, though I thought everything I saw people receive from the company was adorable. Gina finally convinced me to give it a try and I received my first “Fix” on Monday. Since shopping options in Ocala are limited (I buy most of my stuff at TJMaxx or online), this was a treat! I’m still trying to figure out what I’m going to keep and what I’m going to return (I love the skinny jeans and sheer blouse), but I thought the whole concept was a lot of fun. Bonus points for the fun style cards that come with each item to inspire you!
- Ulta Nail Polish Remover Pads
I bought these two weeks ago to bring with my on my recent trip to California and Colorado. I didn’t have time to get a manicure before Michaela’s wedding and knew I wanted to remove the bright purple nail polish I was sporting before her big day so I could re-paint my nails a more appropriate light pink color. After one use, I fell in love with these nail polish remover pads. One pad took all the nail polish off my nails!
Hallelujah! A water bottle that Sadie will actually drink out of on a hot day! Whenever Ryan and I take Sadie hiking, we always bring water bottles and try to get her to drink from them when she’s panting like crazy. We’ve tried pouring the water into our hands or directly into her mouth, but she would always back up and act uninterested despite the fact that we knew she needed water. Enter the Gulpy Pet Water Dispenser! This water bottle holds water and when you squeeze it, the bottle dispenses water into a little dish that is attached.
Apparently Sadie is a princess and needs a bowl or a dish to drink her water. The Gulpy finally got her to drink up!
- Weddings
This year really is the year of the weddings for me and Ryan and I just love it! Weddings bring the people we love the most together and I am so excited for the three weddings we have coming up in September and October.
I know I’ve blogged about this hilariously unattractive (yet somehow cute?) dog before, but pictures of Tuna’s overbite are my absolute favorite. Whenever a picture of Tuna pops up on Instagram I cannot help but crack up and smile. He’s the best and kind of reminds me of Stimpy from Ren and Stimpy. Anyone else remember that show? (I actually hated Ren and Stimpy… I was way more into Doug.)
Remember when I bought the wand? As it turns out, I cannot operate that thing at all and decided to throw in the towel after a handful of attempts. (I’m hoping my friend Brittney can give me an in-person tutorial soon.) Anyway, when I went to Ulta for the nail polish remover pads, I started talking to one of the stylists about how my hair won’t hold curl when curled with a curling iron and yet it will when I curl it with a straightener. She asked me about the curling iron I typically use and when I told her it was a super-old Conair curling iron that I’ve had since high school, she advised upgrading to one that gets really hot. I left with a Hot Tools 1’’ curling iron and have used it three times with good results!
- Sparkling Water
I’ve always been a fan of sparkling water, but lately my love for it has kicked up a notch. It’s so refreshing and I can’t get enough! I blame the ridiculous Florida heat.
- EOS Lip Balm
Even though this lip balm makes me feel really awkward when I put it on (the shape is super strange), it makes my lips feel so soft and is my go-to lip balm on a day-to-day basis.
- Pluots
Ever since I first tried a pluot in Los Angeles last week, I’ve been eating, on average, two a day. They are so good!
Question of the Morning
- What is one thing you’re loving lately?
Melissa says
Lately, I am really loving honeydew melon! Usually, it’s never on sale and quite expensive at the store, but lately, at my local Aldi store, it’s been a great price and thankfully, ripe and sweet!
Kim says
I’ve been loving Dang Coconut Chips. Have you tried them? Such a great snack! I highly recommend them.
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
No! But I LOVE coconut. Where do you find them?
Kim says
I think it’s sold in places like Whole Foods and Fresh Market, but I actually found them in TJMaxx of all places!
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
I wish I had a Whole Foods or Fresh Market near me. I’ll definitely look for them at TJMaxx!
Jan Klein says
I see them at Tj Maxx & Marshalls in Memphis.
Jan Klein says
I’m loving cold baked oatmeal. I’m always a savory breakfast eater but made this the other night & am loving it!
Corrie Anne says
That water bottle for dogs looks amazing!! Dying to try stitchfix sometime. Those styling cards do look great!
Lori @ www.ffglobetrotter.com says
Loving Synergy Multi-Green Kombucha! So refreshing on these hot days.
Kim says
Yes!!
Kaitlin @4loveofcarrots says
Its actually ironic that you wished Geico would make an Friday commercial because the radio station I listen to in the morning did just that! I actually am useless when it comes to doing my own hair but I got a styling wand and somehow figured out how to use it. I spent hours playing with it though and I have burnt myself every time I use it.. so I guess I am a work in progress.
Ashley @ Life and Fitness says
I’ve been loving the new white cheddar glutenfree Rice Thins that just came out. They are so good but addicting!
Fizz @ fizzsbizz says
I wish I wasn’t completely useless with a curling iron! I can only curl with a straightener too. So weird!
My parents bought us a rubber collapsible dog bowl for hiking and it has been a life saver. Annie will only drink out of a bowl too and this one folds in on itself so its completely flat and then pops up to different heights for small or big dogs. We take it hiking, keep it in the car for road trips and take with us when we travel for her dog food. It’s awesome and takes up absolutely no space. So good!
Annette@FitnessPerks says
Mmmm I love sparkling water!
I’ve also been loving Hubert’s lemonade (rasp lemonade kind)–sooo good! And I’ve been loving my clothes from For Two Fitness–so I can work out comfortably late into my pregnancy!
Robyn @ Life is Better Red says
I’m loving Essie nail polish. Recently picked up an awesome teal (Trophy Wife) and intense fuchsia (Miami Nice), so much fun for the summer!
alicia says
spreading almond butter on a warm deep chocolate VitaTop – HEAVENLY
Kashi GoLean Cereal – Cinnamon Crumble flavor
Cookie Dough Luna Protein bars
Jimmy Dean Delights turkey sausage, egg white, & cheese on english muffin
Kim says
I’ve always been hesitant to buy any natural tan lotions just because I have no idea how I would put it on my back evenly. How do you get to the hard to reach areas?
Jackie Macharsky says
My hair never stays curled either!!! It’s so thin and fine. Do you use any products with that?
Chelsea @ BigBitesLittleBudget says
I’m loving hot tea and coffee again (welcome back fall!) and pretty planners for organizing!
Emily @ The Good Era says
I loooove La Croix too! I’ve been obsessed with it all summer long.
I started using the new Jergen’s tanning lotion this summer and am a fan. They finally changed the formula and it smells a 1000 x better. I haven’t gotten much sun this summer, so I love the little help it give me.
Amy @ The Little Honey Bee says
Oooo those nail polish remover pads look great! As I type this, I realize how badly my polish needs to come off…yuck! I am loving Ezekiel Cinnamon Raisin cereal with almond milk… who knew they made cereal?! Delicious with some blueberries.
Sarah says
I’ve been loving:

My latest addiction is Nature’s Path Love Crunch Granola. My favorite is the Dark Chocolate & Red Berries, but I also love the Apple Crumble. There are a few other flavors I haven’t tried yet, too!
Brianne says
I may have to try that curling iron! My hair used to hold curl and post baby it doesn’t 🙁 I am currently LOVING the cooler weather! Normally in August it’s hot and HUMID here in Maryland. Now I’m ready for fall!!!
Sydney says
I recently started drinking soy milk and I’ve really been loving it. (Using it with a lot of my meals/snacks.) And 8th Continent Light Vanilla Soy Milk is delicious!
Ashley says
Totally agree about the lip balm! I love it but I hate putting it on in public… something about the “egg” that looks super weird 🙂
Eating 4 Balance says
The guys in my office still yell Whoot! Whoot! no matter what day it is. Haha. They love that commercial. So funny.
One thing that my family has been loving lately is Coconut Aminos. We bought it at a recent trip Plum Market to use instead of soy sauce. My mom has used it a lot but I haven’t had a chance to experiment in making some Asian-inspired dishes 🙂
Farah @ Fabulously Farah says
I need to get one of those pet water dispensers. My dogs do the exact same thing when I try to give them water when I know they need it.
I’ve been loving fresh peaches lately. Someone donated a bunch of homegrown peaches to my husband’s work and be brought home a huge bag full. I’ve been eating 1-2 a day. Yum!
peanutbutterfingers says

EOS lip balms are the BEST!!! Did you know you can buy them in bulk at Cosco!?! 5 of them for $10…love it!!!
peanutbutterfingers says
no way! thanks for the tip!
Jana @ Bananas for Balance says
Dates for long run fuel! Tried them the first time this morning with cut up pieces of a Clif bar and let me tell you, it was SO nice eating real food during a run. I always get hungry towards the end and Gus or Honey Stingers don’t quite satisfy the craving. Highly recommend dates – easy to chew, digest and very similar to some of the other options out there. Also it’s great being able to pick them up from the market and not make a special trip to a running store.
Have a great weekend!
Lauren says
I love seeing what people get in their StichFix! Would you consider doing a more in depth post modeling/describing all the items you received, what you decided to and not to keep/why-why not etc. ?
Maria@TheBrooklynFig says
I’m with you on the pluots, girl! Around here in Jersey they’re so hard to find though. You have to be in the right place at the right time, or the brief season for them here is over! I’m going to the farmer’s market tomorrow though so maybe I’ll get lucky. Cute post!
Emma @ Life's A Runner says
I really want to try La Croix! But for now I will just stay addicted to San Pellegrino. 🙂 I do love those lip balms though – I think I have more of them than mini hand sanitizers, and that’s saying something! 😉
Megan (The Lyons' Share) says
I adore La Croix, and seeing StitchFix all over the blog world is making me kind of want to try it out! Happy Friday!
Megan (The Lyons' Share) says
OK, I just did (and used the affiliate link)! Can’t wait to see what happens!
Pam S says
I loved Doug! I always thought Ren and Stimpy was a little weird, never got into it!
Audrey @ In Shape Cupcake says
THINGS IM LOVIN: I’ve had overnight oats three times this week. I’ve been trying new coffees at The Fresh Market. I love those Emerald Cocoa Roasted Almonds you can get at Publix! I also really like rice cakes with hummus on it…its weirdly delicious!
And my mom (MY MOM!) got me hooked on Hunter Hayes songs…hes pretty good
Erika @ fortheloveofpeanutbutter says
I looove eos lip balm! Lately, I’m lovin’ the new mini Larabars that just came out (or I think they just came out?) and they’re only fifty cents a pop!
Kailynn says
Fajitas and re-runs of “7th Heaven”, I know it’s corny, but I love it.

Have you tried the coconut flavored La Croix? It’s the bomb!
Lately I’m loving smoothies and long stretches before bed! Happy Friday 🙂
Jen Eaton says
Great post! Tuna is oober cute & that picture is hilarious! I am very interested in the dog water container. When the weather gets cooler where I live, I love taking my pooch on long walks but I know she gets thirsty, great idea!
Christina @ The Beautiful Balance says
I love the Gulpy pet water dispenser! My dogs loves it and it is such a great size to carry on car rides and hikes that I refill with my Camelbak.
Angela @ Health's Angel says
StitchFix does look fun! But I’m a control freak so the thought of having a computer/stranger pick clothes for me without seeing me in person…eh. Haha. I’ve been meaning to try La Croix for the longest time.
Things I’m loving lately: kale chips made with tahini/tahini in general; adding eggs to my meals (I go through phases with eggs); and high-waisted shorts!
Sonja @ The {Happy} Travel Bug says
I found some of those polish remover pads at Forever21 that have a great scent to them. That way, if I want to use them on the plane, it doesn’t bother people with the overwhelming remover smell. Here’s hoping this comment goes through. Thanks for trying to fix the issue! 🙂
Joelle (on a pink typewriter) says
I need to try a pluot and oh my gosh – YES, DOUG! I loooooved that show.. and now the opening theme song is stuck in my hand. TGIF. 🙂
Maryz says
Love Stitchfix! It’s so awesome getting a box filled with cool clothes! I am a horrible shopper! I’m just no fashionista!
Kelly @ Kelly Runs for Food says
I’ve been eating a lot of peaches lately. In the last week I’ve grilled them, eaten them with cereal, yogurt, and just packing one to go with me to work! I really have to try that stitch fix, yours is now the 3rd post I’ve read about it!
Kelly says
I’ve been dying to try out StitchFix, but I’m worried I’ll want to buy everything and I really shouldn’t haha. I’m so addicted to Justin’s maple almond butter in all sizes but especially in the little packets, they’re so convenient!
Meika says
After seeing adorable Stitchfix deliveries on Gina and Anne’s blogs (and Anne answering a million questions for me yesterday), I finally scheduled my first delivery for September this morning, only to see it on your blog now, too. I guess it’s fate! And Doug was way better. Ren & Stimpy annoyed me lol
I’m still loving my Reebok EasyTone shoes. I try and take my golden girl (yes, that’s a reference to the best show EVER), Penelope, on at least a 3 mile walk five times a week, and I swear I feel a difference in my calves, quads, and gluts with them on. I’m currently on my third pair.
