I was absolutely thrilled when the company reached out to me about partnering together for a giveaway on the blog because it is truly one of my favorite websites out there for incredibly affordable clothing.
thredUP is my go-to resource for high quality secondhand clothes, shoes, accessories and handbags and while I’ve been using the site for more than two years for myself, after Chase was born I fell in love with it all over again thanks to its incredible selection of like-new (and often brand new!) children’s clothing and accessories.
I love ordering from thredUP because I know that I will receive a beautifully packaged box of clothes (they wrap everything up in tissue paper and attach their own tags so it really does feel special!) and their return policy is wonderful! I search for my favorite brands (Free People, lululemon, Kate Spade, Zara, ASOS, etc.) and am always so impressed with the selection. The items are up to 90% off the original retail price and always feel like a steal!
I personally prefer to search thredUP when I am looking for something specific because they have SO much stuff. I was on a big-time romper kick this summer and regularly perused the rompers and jumpsuits section of thredUP in my size and was able to nab a handful of great finds for way less than I’d pay if I bought them brand new.
Here’s a look at one of my random summertime thredUP hauls:
(An assortment of Ralph Lauren/Baby Gap clothes for Chase and a Dolce Vita romper, comfy Free People pants and Gap sandals for me!)
DV Dolce Vita Romper (thredUP price: $26.99 / Retail value: $95) Victoria’s Secret Bikini Top: (thredUP price: $5.99 / Retail value: $18)
And here’s a quick rundown of a small handful of the items I’ve purchased from thredUP over the years:
Old Navy Puffer Vest: (thredUP price: $10.99 / Retail value: $40) Lululemon Crossbody Bag: (thredUP price: $48 / Retail value: $119)
Forever 21 Chambray Tie Crop Top (thredUP price: $7.99 / Retail value: $27) / Neon Marc Jacobs Crossbody Purse (thredUP price: $80.99 / Retail value: $258)
On me: Yumi Kim Dress (thredUP price: $30 / Retail value: $143) / On Chase: Carters Polo + Carters Pants (thredUP price: $5 + $7)
Lululemon 1/4 zip (thredUP price: $61.99 / Retail value: $118)
Lululemon Tank (thredUP price: $28 / Retail value: $58)

Hey Julie-
I love your blog, and am a long time reader. I actually ordered a clean out bag and sent a bunch of stuff to Thredup after I first learned about it on your blog. I was less than thrilled with the payout amount offered by Thredup, but lesson learned and I won’t be sending any items to them. I have never bought anything from their site, but when I saw the 40% off promo code being offered through your blog I immediately went on and quickly had accumulated over $400 worth of clothing in my cart. However, when I put in the code it’s only good for $50 max. Wish that had been clearly stated on your site, I spent a lot of time selecting the items I did thinking they would ALL be 40% off! I had to email Thredup to figure out why the promo code I was using was only giving me $50 off.
Julie says
Oh my gosh! I didn’t realize that at all! I’m so sorry. I’ll reach out to them about the $50 limit… That is definitely misleading. I thought it was for unlimited clothing as well.
Rachael says
Thanks so much! I appreciate you taking the time to do so, they should have made that clear to you. Let me know what the outcome is when you hear back from them. Thanks again!
